PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The post-holder will provide high-quality administrative, financial and organisational support to the Community of Our Lady of Walsingham, ensuring smooth day-to-day running of the Community's office and supporting the delivery of its mission. ● Take responsibility for maintaining and updating all data records and new implementing systems when needed.

Grant Accountant
This is a specialist six-month contract role (with potential for extension), working three days per week, for an experienced grant accounting professional. The Grant Accountant will take ownership of preparing grant information for proposals and reports, maintaining robust grant compliance, as well as setting up Money Ready’s procurement structure for schools team. Once the procurement framework is established and operational, responsibility for day-to-day procurement will transfer to the Finance Assistant. The role bridges transactional grant and procurement processes and the organisation’s strategic finance function.
Grant Accounting and Proposals
- Prepare detailed financial information for grant proposals, including budget construction, cost modelling and narrative financial justification
- Prepare and submit accurate donor financial reports and grant claims in line with funder requirements and deadlines
- Maintain restricted and unrestricted fund schedules, tracking grant budgets versus actuals and reporting variances to the Head of Finance & Operations
- Ensure all grant expenditure is correctly coded in line with donor rules and Charity SORP requirements
- Maintain grant documentation and compliance evidence files to support audit readiness
- Work closely with the fundraising team, providing financial data and challenge on donor budgets within proposals
Procurement Structure Set-Up
- Design and implement Money Ready’s procurement framework, including policy, supplier due diligence, purchase order workflow, and contract register
- Onboard suppliers, establish due diligence records, and ensure procurement activity aligns with Money Ready’s values and financial controls
- Support tendering processes and contract renewals during the contract period
- Handover all procurement structures, processes, and documentation to the Finance Assistant once the framework is fully operational, ensuring a smooth transition
Finance & Month-End Support
Prepare month-end reconciliations for projects and funding
Experience
- Substantial experience preparing grant financial information for proposals and reports, including budget construction and funder-facing financial narrative
- Proven track record of grant compliance, donor reporting and managing restricted fund schedules within a charity or not-for-profit environment
- Experience designing or implementing a procurement framework, including supplier onboarding, purchase order processes and contract management
- Experience of month-end reconciliations, audit schedules, and supporting external audit
Qualifications
- Part-qualified accountant – ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent
- AAT Level 4 (or equivalent experience) considered where substantial grant and procurement experience is demonstrated
Systems
- Experience of Sage Intacct is highly desirable; candidates with experience of other cloud-based finance systems will be considered
- Strong Excel skills; familiarity with Salesforce is an advantage.

As a Principal Philanthropy Lead, you’ll join the Philanthropy leadership team, lead a team of eight colleagues including three Senior Managers, personally secure significant philanthropic investment and act as a deputy to the Head of Philanthropy.
Principal Philanthropy Lead – Best Chance will lead philanthropy across pioneering medical research, innovation and new treatments, as well as our growing US Giving programme. The role will help shape our next major fundraising campaign, significantly increasing our ambition for philanthropic investment in research and innovation. It will also offer senior leadership for Fundraising Research, our prospecting, insight and due diligence service across Relationship Fundraising.
Principal Philanthropy Lead – Best Childhood will lead philanthropy across our hospital environment, capital infrastructure and patient and family experience, including senior leadership of the final phase of our £300m Build It. Beat It. appeal and the transition towards our next major campaign. The role will also offer senior leadership for Stewardship across Relationship Fundraising, supporting exceptional supporter experiences, impact reporting, recognition and engagement.
Salary
The salary for these positions is £71,831 per annum.

Purpose of Job
The Financial Reporting Manager acts as the principal link between ODI Global’s project-finance and corporate-finance functions. The role ensures that project budgets, Programme Analysis Budgets (PABs), donor income, billing, restricted and unrestricted funds, cash-flow information and project expenditure are accurately reflected in, and reconciled to, the general ledger. The postholder critically reviews financial and project information, investigates inconsistencies between project, budget and accounting data, and ensures corrective action is completed. They provide reliable analysis to support the Head of Finance, Chief Finance Officer, Senior Leadership and Board.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Financial Reporting Manager will work closely with the Head of Finance, Chief Finance Officer, finance colleagues, Portfolio Finance Managers, and project teams to deliver accurate, timely and decision-useful reporting across ODI Global.
1. Financial Reporting Leadership
- Support the timely preparation and critically review the monthly management accounts, ensuring that project, grant and fund information is complete, accurate and properly reflected in the general ledger.
- Lead the consolidation process for group entities and ensure the reporting of the Entities financials are accurate.
- Provide the Head of Finance and Chief Finance Officer with clear variance analysis, financial insight and performance commentary for management and Board reporting.
- Improve the usefulness, consistency and clarity of project, grant and organisational financial reporting.
- Coordinate and maintain an accurate and current full-year forecast, supported by documented assumptions and input from finance, programme and project colleagues.
- Analyse organizational and project cash flow, highlighting funding gaps, timing risks and actions required.
- Develop a framework for monitoring project compliance with both donor and charity requirements.
2. Financial Controls & Governance
- Maintain and improve proportionate preventive and detective controls across project-finance and corporate -finance processes, and escalate material control failures.
- Support the review and improvement of financial controls, risk assessments, delegated authorities and related procedures, ensuring they operate effectively in practice.
- Support the implementation and ongoing operation of the agreed process for deducting margin from projects at source, including reconciliations, guidance and communication with stakeholders.
- Identify and support targeted improvements to end-to-end finance and programme processes where these will improve accuracy, consistency or efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations regarding charitable operations.
- Work with finance and programme colleagues to ensure that Programme Analysis Budgets (PABs) are accurate, current and reconciled to the general ledger each month.
- Ownership of the use of the Purchase Ordering system
- Ensure relevant payroll and staff-cost information is accurately reflected in project and programme reporting and reconciled to the general ledger
- Prepare, post and reconcile monthly project journals, including accruals, prepayments and other adjustments
3. Audit & Compliance Management
- Maintain audit-ready financial documentation and support internal and external audits relating to financial reporting, projects, grants and controls.
- Monitor the resolution of reporting, reconciliation and control findings, and escalate material or overdue actions to the Head of Finance.
4. Team Development across Finance
- Provide practical guidance to finance and programme colleagues on project reporting, reconciliations, billing, fund accounting and financial controls.
- Promote accountability, transparency and effective collaboration between project, programme and finance teams.
5. Systems, Data & Process Optimisation
- Use finance systems and reporting tools effectively and support targeted technology improvements that strengthen reporting accuracy and controls.
- Ensure that financial and programme data are complete and accurate, and that PAB-to-general-ledger reconciliations are completed, reviewed and resolved each month.
- Contribute to the standardisation and appropriate automation of priority finance processes, with clear ownership and controls.
- Identify recurring data-quality issues, investigate their root causes and implement preventive action to improve future reporting.
Key Skills & Experience
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent).
- Good analytical and reporting skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement skills, with the confidence to explain financial information clearly and constructively challenge finance and non-finance colleagues.

- Management and Board reporting clearly explain financial performance, material variances, cash-flow risks and required corrective action.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Fundraising Executive will provide essential operational support to the Fundraising Team, with primary responsibility for maintaining accurate, timely and useful information in our CRM system, Donorfy. The postholder will process and reconcile donations, maintain high-quality supporter records, coordinate prompt and personalised donor acknowledgements, and produce clear insights to support fundraising decisions across Helen Bamber Foundation and Asylum Aid.

Budget and Strategic Management
