Bristol Avon Rivers Trust is an independent environmental charity dedicated to restoring and protecting the rivers of the Bristol Avon catchment for people and wildlife.

We work across urban and rural landscapes to deliver practical river restoration, natural flood management, climate resilience, biodiversity recovery and community engagement projects at a catchment scale. Our work ranges from removing barriers to fish migration and restoring river habitat, through to supporting regenerative farming, creating wetlands and woodlands, and engaging communities in citizen science and environmental action.

As the Trust continues to grow in scale, ambition and complexity, we are seeking an experienced and highly organised Head of Operations to help strengthen our organisational systems, support our team and enable the effective delivery of our strategic vision.

Purpose of the Role

The Head of Operations will play a central leadership role within Bristol Avon Rivers Trust, ensuring the organisation operates safely, effectively, efficiently and sustainably as it continues to grow.

This is a strategic and hands-on operational role overseeing organisational systems, support governance, HR, compliance, health & safety, programme management support and internal operations.

Working closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team, the postholder will help manage the organisations systems and culture needed to support high-quality delivery across a growing environmental charity.

Hours for this role can be flexible - while advertised as full time, we would be willing to explore part-time employment (minimum 0.6FTE).

4. Scope of Work and Key Responsibilities

    Operational planning and tracking

• Support the Project Manager in maintaining operational plans, procurement trackers, action logs, and implementation support schedules.
• Monitor progress of operational actions and follow up with responsible staff to minimise avoidable delays.

     Procurement and Supply chain support

• Support review of procurement requests, specifications, delivery schedules, and procurement documentation for completeness before onward processing.
• Track status of procurement packages, purchase actions, vendor communications, and delivery milestones and flag bottlenecks for management attention.
• Coordinate with the Sudan Operations and Logistics Officer on shipment status, local sourcing issues, warehousing constraints, and asset receipt confirmation

Documentation and Asset control support

   Operational Risk Management

Role Overview:

This role is a member of the organisation’s management team and has responsibility for the delivery of our flood support work. The postholder will lead the delivery of a professional helpline service and oversee reactive and proactive flood support services to communities and business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Flood Support: Lead and manage high-quality proactive and reactive Flood Support Services for communities and businesses at risk of, and impacted by, flooding, including helpline & recovery services and management of the flood support vehicle. You’ll be self-driven, motivated by achieving targets and delivering the best possible supporter experience. The role involves project management and innovation, and you’ll be responsible for confidently driving projects forward, whilst confidently managing a range of internal and external stakeholders.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with an expectation of two days per week in our Leicester office.

The Role

The Nazareth Trust is one of Scotland’s oldest and largest Christian charities, employing over 900 people in Nazareth, Israel, through its hospital, nursing college, biblical tourism operation, and international volunteer programme.

We are seeking a driven Marketing and Communications Officer with significant initiative and ability to influence through social digital content production.

In this role, you will execute the strategic direction of our communications, by expanding our reach through engaging, persuasive content. Using data analysis, the successful candidate will enhance engagement with the Nazareth Trust’s key audiences on our TNT supporter database.

You will support the Marketing and Communications Manager by researching and leveraging compelling stories that will engage and inspire activism and giving from our existing supporter database.  

An ability to develop working relationships and inspire confidence is essential. Similarly, an ability to research new media outlets. The successful candidate will be proactive in their approach working within an intercultural context where initiative will be required.

This position requires a high level of creativity, as well as the ability to use data-driven insights to write better material. The successful candidate should also be detail-focused and committed to meeting tight deadlines and expected outputs. She/he will be able to produce material which requires little or no further editing.

As part of a small UK office, the successful candidate will also provide additional and varied support as required by the Marketing and Communications Manager.

The Nazareth Trust is a Christian organisation. We are seeking an experienced administrator to provide efficient administrative support to the Training, Learning and Assessment team, ensuring that trainer, assessor and programme administration is accurate, up to date and well organised. This role is central to the effective administration of the Training, Learning and Assessment function. The postholder will provide practical day-to-day support to help ensure that trainers and assessors receive timely information, accurate documentation and well-coordinated administrative processes.
