Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We have embarked on our 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

We are now recruiting the team that will deliver Crisis at Christmas 2026. This unique project mobilises a huge volunteering effort to provide warmth, companionship and vital services in temporary centres across London to people facing homelessness.

This role will involve working throughout the Crisis at Christmas project, which runs through from the middle of December to the end of January each year. It will involve working on site through Christmas and New Year.

About the role

This role will involve building relationships with current and new corporate donors to ensure we can resource all the material donations we need to run the Crisis at Christmas centres in London. Each year, we source gift in kind donations ranging from food and beverages to clothing, hairdressing equipment and toiletries. This is a varied role that involves researching donors, communicating with large corporate companies, managing volunteers, and running our yearly community donations drive.

About you

• Previous fundraising, project or event coordination or marketing experience.

• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships with partner organisations and donors at all levels and work collaboratively within a wider team.

• Excellent attention to detail and data processing accuracy with experience of using Microsoft Office software, in particular Word, Excel, and SharePoint.  

• Good organisational and problem-solving skills. You should be able to manage multiple competing priorities and modify plans in response to unexpected complications.

The Resettlement Team operate as a core team within The Passage Resource Centre, conducting initial triage assessments with new service users, supporting with the day to day running of the centre and reception area, and carrying a caseload of service users working towards agreed housing goals and objectives. About the role

Our Hospital Dementia Adviser provides vital support to people living with dementia during their hospital stay. You’ll work directly with individuals who have a dementia diagnosis and their families, helping them understand their situation, navigate hospital processes, and plan a safe and confident discharge home with the right support in place.

This is a hospital-based role that involves regular walking between wards and departments. You will work closely with the wider Local Services Team to ensure that people are smoothly connected to ongoing support in the community once they leave the hospital.

Although there is no direct personal or clinical care involved, this role is all about offering high-quality advice, guidance, and emotional support. You will collaborate with hospital staff, volunteers, and external partners to ensure that people affected by dementia receive the right information and feel supported throughout their journey.

We operate a triage system for new referrals and you will play your part in making sure people are responded to quickly and thoughtfully. You will manage your own caseload, keeping clear and accurate records, while always seeing the person behind the paperwork.
You will be part of a caring and dynamic local team who share ideas, reflect together and support one another. There will be time to meet as a team and opportunities to keep growing your knowledge of dementia, with your manager and colleagues alongside you.

About you 

We are looking for someone compassionate, organised, and confident working in a busy hospital environment.

- Have an understanding of dementia and the needs of people living with dementia (experience with other health conditions or support needs will also be considered).
- Be comfortable moving around a hospital sites at Hull Royal Information and Castle Hill Hospitals and engaging with people in a fast-paced setting.
- Be comfortable providing information, guidance, advice or emotional support - this could be from health, social care, community, voluntary, customer service or other people focused roles.
- You will be able to listen and communicate, with the ability to build trust and rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Be able to manage your workload effectively, with appropriate support and tools, and to balance competing priorities.
- Confidence using IT systems to maintain accurate and confidential records.

Location & Ways of Working:

The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but at times you will be required to come to your contracted office (usually between 2–4 days per month, depending on the needs of your role, team, or service). For many roles, this is likely to be the minimum required to deliver impact.

The Safer Programming & Advocacy Team currently meets once per month at our office in Farringdon, but this will be discussed and agreed with your manager / team and we encourage candidates to discuss our ways of working in more detail at interview stage. 

Please note: travel costs to your contracted office will be at your own expense.
