Job description

Are you passionate about supporting young people, building relationships and making a genuine social impact? We're looking for a dynamic Student Engagement Officer to join EDT and help inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, technologists and future innovators.

As a Student Engagement Officer, you'll play a vital role in connecting students, schools, teachers, parents and industry partners with life-changing STEM opportunities. From student recruitment and communications to programme support and stakeholder engagement, this is a rewarding role where you'll see the direct impact of your work on young people's futures.

What You'll Be Doing

· Lead the design, development and continuous improvement of engaging STEM and employability programmes, ensuring content remains innovative, relevant and impactful for young people.

· Create high-quality learning resources, programme materials and content for face-to-face, virtual and hybrid delivery, collaborating with colleagues, educators and industry partners.

· Deliver inspiring STEM programmes, workshops and events, confidently engaging young people while providing an exceptional participant experience.

· Build strong relationships with schools, employers and stakeholders, using feedback, data and insight to enhance programme quality, reach and impact.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience in student recruitment, education engagement, outreach, events coordination or customer-facing education roles.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with young people, teachers and parents.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience working with CRM systems such as HubSpot, or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Passion for STEM education, youth development and creating opportunities for

What's In It For You?

  • Salary £27,300 to £32,400 FTE depending on skills and experience.
  • Part-time role at 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE).
  • Fixed-term maternity cover contract from mid-November 2026 to January 2028.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata).
  • Up to 10% employer pension contribution.
  • Life insurance worth three times annual salary.

Location

  • Hybrid working.
  • Preference for candidates based in the South, however for the right candidate you could be within commutable distance of any of our office locations - Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Welwyn Garden City and Southampton.
  • Occasional travel and overnight stays will be required.
