Who we are seeking 
We are seeking an ambitious and strategic Fundraising Manager. This is a hands-on role for an experienced fundraiser who enjoys writing high-quality grant applications and building strong relationships with supporters. Hospice UK is recruiting a Senior Corporate Development Executive to support and grow our commercial partnerships portfolio, working closely with the Corporate Development Manager and Corporate Development Executive.

This role will help to build relationships with over 80 businesses across all industries including healthcare, finance, insurance, digital, sustainability and more, generating more than £420k each year to support Hospice UK’s work.

The role

You will support all aspects of Hospice UK’s commercial partnership activity, helping to build, steward and develop long‑term relationships with corporate partners, who want to collaborate with hospices. This includes working directly with organisations to secure sponsorship, exhibition space and partnership opportunities. Personalised communications will help move businesses from one‑off activity to longer‑term strategic partnerships.

A key part of the role involves conferences and events. You’ll help secure exhibitors and sponsors for our annual National Conference (1,000+ attendees) and our one‑day conferences, supporting activity from launch through to delivery, including marketing materials, pipeline management, proactive sales and administration.

You’ll also support the Hospice UK Jobs Board, an income‑generating platform promoting careers in hospice and end of life care, contributing to sales and marketing activity, managing job postings and supporting performance analysis and development.

About you

You’ll have strong experience in sales (from the third, private or public sector) and be confident building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior corporate contacts.

We also have the opportunity to learn from The Felix Project’s success in London and explore how proven approaches can be adapted and scaled nationally.

About the role

The Head of Public Fundraising & Engagement will lead our public fundraising portfolio. This newly created role will oversee Individual Giving and Legacies, Community Fundraising, Mass Participation and Challenge Events, and Fundraising Operations, with five direct reports.

You will be accountable for public fundraising income and performance, whilst also helping to bring together teams, systems and ways of working following the merger. You’ll sit on both the Fundraising Senior Management Team and the organisation’s Senior Management Team, contributing to organisation-wide strategy, decision-making and culture.

You will play a key role in shaping our three-year public fundraising strategy, ensuring it is ambitious, realistic and rooted in audience insight.

Whilst much of the portfolio is delivered through Senior Managers, there is particular scope and opportunity, to shape the future of Community and Mass Fundraising – where we’ve deliberately protected delivery while leaving space for the new Head to define long-term strategy, growth and resource.

You’ll also play a leading role in embedding a new organisational brand once agreed.

Shaping Community and Mass Fundraising

•    Make a hands-on strategic lead in shaping the future direction of Community and Mass Fundraising.

•    Identify growth opportunities and test new approaches to help define future operating models.

•Build momentum and organisational confidence in areas with significant untapped potential.

The Assistant Head of Legacy and In Memory Fundraising is a senior role in the Legacy and In Memory Fundraising team, working alongside the Head of Legacy and In Memory Fundraising to drive activities after a significant and sustained investment in this area by the organisation.
The role will lead on the delivery of a multi-channel legacy marketing programme and championing legacy giving across the organisation. The post-holder will be responsible for establishing a year on year 10% increase in the number of legacy enquirers, considerers, intenders and pledgers to the charity, as well as establishing a new in memory fundraising programme that will increase annual income.
The successful candidate will have extensive expertise in all aspects of legacy and in memory fundraising and of project managing multiple campaigns across a range of channels, achieving and improving target revenues. You will have a track record in successful strategic planning, management and implementation of strategy and be a highly organised project manager able to work across simultaneous complex projects.

Your excellent leadership and people manager skills working and building high performing teams will be combined with strong financial management and analytical abilities. You will also be skilled in creative development and be an excellent communicator, able to influence at a senior level and to develop strong, successful, collaborative and influential working relationships. Hope is here. The Global Returns Project (GRP) is a UK charity unlocking new philanthropy to deliver urgent solutions for our planet.

We are a fast-moving nonprofit that makes donations to high-impact nature and climate charities simple – and we don’t take any fees. We’ve already mobilised nearly £2 million for top environmental solutions and are working to unlock at least £30 million annually by the end of the decade.

We are growing quickly: Last year's annual fundraising was 50% higher than the previous year.

The problem: Charities protecting our planet can turn the tide on climate change and nature loss. They have the skills, strategies and networks to deliver fast and global impact. But less than 2% of philanthropy goes to climate mitigation.

Our solution: In the UK alone, around £2 trillion sits with “HNW+” individuals – those holding between £100k and £30 million. Yet traditional philanthropy largely overlooks them. We’re unlocking this funding by offering trusted, pro bono advice and a simple, portfolio approach to giving. Our expertise in UK wealth advice offers a unique path to scalability and systems-change.

What we are looking for:

Job Title: Philanthropy Lead

We’re looking for a confident, experienced fundraiser to lead major-gift fundraising — securing transformational gifts from high-net-worth individuals. This individual will also assist with building wealth-adviser relationships that generate referral leads. You’ll own the full pipeline: prospecting, cultivation, making direct asks, closing and stewardship.

The ideal candidate will be excited to cultivate networks of wealth managers, private-client teams and other advisers to HNWIs, and to convert adviser introductions into committed support. Importantly, you’ll also prospect independently for major gifts outside those referral streams.

To succeed you’ll master three distinct fundraising pitches: a business case for advisers; an impact case to persuade donors to support our portfolio charities; and a systems-change case to win backing for GRP’s operating costs (salaries, office costs, etc) to keep the charity running fee-free.

You’ll be comfortable making direct asks for funding, with evidence of having closed high-value gifts or multi-year commitments. You’ll be willing to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with everyday cultivation tasks. You’ll thrive in a small team, taking initiative and juggling priorities. Crucially, you’ll care deeply about climate and nature.

Experience required:

Substantial experience in frontline major gifts fundraising (as a guide, likely 5+ years), or an exceptional track record in adjacent fields (private client advisory, philanthropy advisory, etc).

As our Individual Giving Officer, you will join an energetic team and play a pivotal role in leading the marketing, delivery, development, and stewardship of NHYC's Individual Giving programme. This includes managing direct marketing acquisition and retention campaigns, developing new propositions, and expanding our reach to new audiences.

You will be responsible for managing existing activity, marketing channels and audiences, and at the same time identifying and developing exciting propositions targeted at new and existing audiences. Through your effective onboarding, retention, and engagement plans, you will ensure that our donors maximise their fundraising potential and have a great experience supporting NHYC. We have a very data-led individual giving program and as part of your role you will support with the data management that underpins not only individual giving, but our wider fundraising infrastructure.

You’ll also bring experience of working at a senior leadership level, leading teams in the delivery of high quality, impactful campaigns – along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a proven ability to successfully build and maintain stakeholder relationships; a positive, proactive, and solution-focused approach; and a genuine interest in the arts and culture.

The organisation rescues high quality edible surplus food, from across the food industry and gets it to over 8,000 organisations across the UK who are working to strengthen communities and improve lives.

The charity manages seven depots across London, Suffolk, Merseyside and Hampshire and works with 16 network partners who operate a further 26 regional depots across the UK.

Over the next year our ambition is to rescue enough food nationally to provide nearly 200 million meals, turning an environmental problem into social good with measurable impact for people, planet, and the economy.

Nurturing high-value relationships with major donors to maximise support to drive growth in income targets.

Duties & Responsibilities

•  Build relationships with a portfolio of prospective major donors, understanding philanthropic motivations and tailoring opportunities for engagement to inspire major gifts

While playing a key role within the wider Development Directorate, you will guide how Mary’s Meals is seen, understood, and felt in Northern Ireland – shaping our public profile, driving sustained income growth, and building the partnerships and grassroots energy needed to grow our movement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working cross-directorate to create and deliver a fundraising growth strategy for Northern Ireland, rooted in regional insight, cultural understanding, and community needs, and aligned with the global and national strategy.​

• Working with the Communications team, shape a clear and compelling narrative, respecting the nation’s strong identity.​

• Identify emerging opportunities across Northern Ireland, including diocesan networks, local relationships, and regional giving patterns, adjusting plans quickly to drive maximum impact.​

• Serve as the senior MMUK representative in Northern Ireland, ensuring activity aligns with the national organisational strategy.​

• Act as the leading spokesperson for Mary’s Meals in Northern Ireland, representing the charity to churches, schools, local authorities, individuals, universities, and community or business networks.​

• Spend focused time externally; networking, nurturing partnerships and driving growth through representing the charity at events, meetings, faith gatherings, conferences, and civic forums.

• Proactively cultivate, pursue, and develop fundraising opportunities via networking and outreach with the aim of securing support for our school feeding programme.​

• Develop and maintain a robust national growth pipeline, ensuring proactive identification, cultivation, conversion, and stewardship of opportunities.​

• Significant focus on the growth and development of new Volunteer Fundraising Groups in counties across Northern Ireland.

• Line manage and coach a Regional Development Officer, enabling them to become a confident, high‑performing fundraiser.

• Serve as a trusted media spokesperson for press, broadcast, and faith media when required.​

• Work closely with the Communications team to provide compelling local supporter stories, impactful moments, and local activity to showcase.​

• Shape national to local messaging so that campaigns resonate with audiences across Northern Ireland.

Purpose of the Job 

Oversee the planning and delivery of a portfolio of trusts and foundations funders, that maximise income potential and provide relationship management for a number of key accounts, providing impact reports and associated benefits

Devising, implementing and attending a variety of national Stewardship events as and when required and leading and supporting depot visits for potential and existing funders. Develop a range of engaging, innovative and persuasive proposals that capture the ambition and vision of the charity.

Provide continuous reviews of plans and/or funding agreements managed by the trusts and foundations team to ensure appropriate levels of stewardship and undertake research to identify potential funders, both within and outside of the UK and maintaining an effective pipeline designed to undertake detailed prospecting and identification of targets needed to deliver long term income.

Provide development of key relationships with Network partners to provide support and guidance on national funders and identifying new funding opportunities and actively participate in budget setting and quarterly forecasting

The ownership of identified funding for specified projects and create, maintain, and disseminate as appropriate.

Duties & Responsibilities

·Experience of working in a regulated environment and demonstrable risk assessment capabilities

·Significant experience of working with trusts and grant funders and a good understanding of the UK funding landscape, in a management/line management position

·Proven track record of meeting challenging targets, securing multi-year business and increasing income from existing funders

·Strong financial acumen, with the ability to work with complex budgets and production of associated grant reports

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in writing proposals and presentations, with the ability to engage at all levels with diverse stakeholders

·Proficient level of IT skills, specifically Microsoft Office applications

·Experience of managing projects or varying scale and scope

·Pipeline of potential funders

·Delivery of income targets and expectations
