The Head of Grants will take a leading role in shaping The Childhood Trust’s grant-making approach. This is both a strategic and practical role - the postholder will manage the full cycle for our existing grant-making (Big Give) campaign and oversee a small team. Working closely with the Director of Programmes and Impact, Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team and Board, they will use evidence, learning and sector insight to help design and deliver the next phase of The Childhood Trust’s grant-making programme. This is a role for someone who can work independently, take ownership and make things happen. 

The postholder will also use their experience and sector knowledge to recommend and implement new ways of supporting the sector through our new capacity building programme (Thrive Together), ensuring that The Childhood Trust’s grant-making is both innovative and impactful. They will contribute to the development of our youth voice work and ensure that the voices of children and young people are embedded across all aspects of grant-making.

You will ensure that the services are delivered in accordance with the service level agreements and grant funding requirements.  As Service Manager, you will ensure all policy and practice issues are maintained to the highest standards.

· Qualified to a level 5 or above with a recognised professional qualification in social work, health, education or equivalent and have excellent communication skills.  

· You will need proven supervisory and experience or competence of managing others, as well as experience of management of resources including finance, planning and evaluation at a project level.

· You will also understand practice standards in relation to case work and understand the importance of quality assurance activity.

· A sound knowledge of the needs of young carers and parent carers.

· Excellent communication skills.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Procurement Manager to join our Procurement team, to support the Head of Procurement to take the department to the next level.

You will use your commercial focus and expertise to drive best practices in our projects, managing various aspects of spending from RfQs for tail-end to tendering on our eProcurement portal for large project procurements.  You will find yourself constantly challenged to come up with innovative ways of thinking and working closely with stakeholders to lead on procurement understanding, driving value for money, strategic projects and managing the supply chain.

You will get involved in a huge variety of projects, from ICT equipment to Marketing and Events, and everything in-between – this means you’ll need to be dynamic and flexible and able to manage your own time well. Sustainability, Social Value and EDI are important to the Trust as a Charity, and so you will strive to embed this in our supply chain with the key suppliers that we work with.

We're looking for a highly organised Team Administrator to keep The Talent Tap running smoothly and provide administrative support across all aspects of our small team including finance, programme logistics, marketing and fundraising support. The role blends detail-oriented routine tasks with ad hoc support meaning no day looks the same, but there’s a high degree of predictability.

We’re looking for someone who has a strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, who is able to work independently to get things done but collaboratively to work as a team.

Key responsibilities

You don’t need to have experience in all of the areas below. We’re looking for potential and willingness to learn and develop.

Team administration

• Organise and coordinate team meetings, including scheduling and agendas
• Produce clear, accurate notes and track actions through to completion
• Support board administration, including preparing papers and circulating minutes
• Bookkeeping tasks such as raising invoices, processing bills and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (No finance qualification is needed, but you must bring strong attention to detail)

Programme administration

• Book accommodation, meeting rooms and travel
• Support with impact tracking and reporting

Marketing and fundraising administration

What we can offer

Salary and pension: We are offering an FTE salary for the role of £28,000 FTE, pro-rated to 21 hours a week (our working week is 35 hours).

Annual leave: You will be entitled to 30 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (these will be pro-rated to reflect your hours).

Hours of work: As a remote and largely part-time team, we offer a great deal of flexibility. We’re ideally looking for someone who can work 21 hours/week spread over three or more days of the week. We need someone who can commit to some regular team meetings, including quarterly away days which might fall outside of your normal working pattern. Location: Our team works remotely. The team does meet in London quarterly for away days, for which travel is paid for. Remote participation is possible to accommodate access needs.

You will have experience of:

• Planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, supporting children’s individual development, curiosity, and wellbeing.

• Working collaboratively as part of an early years professional team to maintain and continuously improve the quality of practice, provision, and outcomes for children.

Main duties include:

This role forms part of Southwark’s commissioned Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and Domestic Abuse (DA) service, delivered through a consortium partnership led by Bede.

The post holder will coordinate and deliver structured group-based interventions for children and young people affected by domestic abuse, alongside partnership working and service development. The role requires an experienced practitioner able to work autonomously and ensure all interventions are trauma-informed, safe, and responsive. Training will also be given.

Reporting to: (LNK CEO) & Bede VAWG Service Lead): Reporting to: Lives Not Knives CEO (for formal line management and employment matters), with operational coordination and clinical case supervision provided by Bede's VAWG Service Lead.

Programme Delivery & Coordination

• Support the delivery of 1:1 interventions in line with agreed referral pathways and safeguarding procedures, working within Bede systems and processes.

• Deliver structured group programmes, supporting the delivery of established programme materials and content.

• Adapt and update existing session materials as needed to ensure they remain age-appropriate, relevant, and responsive to participant needs, in collaboration with Bede colleagues.

• Deliver sessions focused on wellbeing, resilience, safety, and healthy relationships in line with agreed programme outcomes.

• Work with Bede colleagues to plan delivery schedules, manage programme cycles, and support the collation and analysis of data and outcomes.

• Use Bede’s evaluation forms and systems to collect, record, and input feedback and outcomes data to support ongoing programme improvement.

• Ensure delivery is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and consistent with Bede’s practice frameworks and quality standards.

• Maintain appropriate professional relationships with young people/vulnerable adults to support consistent engagement in group programmes.

Partnership Working

• Collaborate with consortium partners and a wide range of external stakeholders, including schools, colleges, universities, and statutory services.

• Engage with wider systems and settings, including courts and parliamentary/civic settings and religious institutions where appropriate, to represent and advocate for the service and its beneficiaries.

• Support a coordinated borough-wide response to domestic abuse through effective partnership working.

Safeguarding, Risk & Compliance

• Undertake program suitability and youth-focused needs assessments, contributing vital practitioner insights into Bede’s specialist risk assessments and family safety plans.

• Contribute to safety planning. Work collaboratively with Bede to inform and update safety plans through regular case discussions, meetings, and ongoing communication, ensuring risks and emerging concerns are shared promptly.

• Maintain accurate confidential records.

• Adhere to safeguarding procedures at all times.

Service Development & Quality

The post holder will support the ongoing development and quality assurance of the programme, working within Bede’s systems and under the guidance of Bede managers and consortium partners.

Responsibilities will include:

· Using Bede’s monitoring, evaluation, and case management systems to record and report programme activity.

· Supporting service improvement through feedback, evaluation data, and performance monitoring.

What you will do

A year-in-the-life of our Largs-based Communications and Media Officer has two distinct parts. October to April - where it’s all about getting the word out there to support fundraising and encouraging young people to sign up for our life-changing adventures. Then it’s the summer - May to September - when the magic happens and you’re around the trips, interviewing young people and telling their stories. You can go sailing on the trips too!

You will be responsible for identifying story opportunities year-round, and writing press releases, media advisories or editorial content to pitch those stories to a range of media outlets, from local newspapers and regional broadcasters to national, charity, marine and other specialist publications, and facilitating inbound requests for interviews or other profile-raising opportunities.

You will serve as our go-to copywriter for print, online and digital marketing materials as well as writing other articles and feature content as requested. This includes responsibility for writing and overseeing the production of our annual in-house publication, Inspire.

You will also work closely with the social media team, gathering (and if you have the experience, producing) multimedia content for our digital and online platforms. There will be wider responsibilities across the communications team too.
