Role Purpose

To deliver and develop a high-impact mentoring programme through effective mentor management, community engagement, and high-quality organisation and programme administration around London. This role is vital to achieving the organisation’s goals — including positive outcomes for children, meaningful volunteer engagement, compliance, and sustainable growth.

This role brings a perfect blend of administration and delivery, giving you ample time to see and speak with children and volunteer mentors, seeing up close the transformation the programme makes on children’s lives. 

Core Responsibilities

1. Mentor Management & Support 

• Match at least five children per month with suitable volunteer mentors, aligned with individual needs and programme goals. 
• Manage up to 55 active mentor-mentee pairs, leading the administration cycle and our quality framework. 
• Maintain 100% accurate records and communications in our data management system, Salesforce, ensuring full compliance with internal processes 
• Maintain consistent, high-quality mentor communications, including regular check-ins and reviews, ensuring consistent session attendance. 
• Co-deliver training for new and existing volunteer mentors; support community events and in-person meetups, maintaining 90%+ satisfaction in mentor surveys. 
• Drive mentor engagement and experience through the online community platform, reflective sessions, and arranging mentor meetups. 
• Promote long-term mentor involvement, with volunteer mentors contributing beyond core mentoring. 

2. Programme Delivery & Development 

• Support organisational targets across cohorts supporting delivery, volunteer recruitment and fundraising annually 
• Deliver child workshops and check-ins, capturing their voices and tailoring support accordingly. 
• Collect consistent impact from children, caregivers and mentors, ensuring all impact targets are met and ensuring children show positive progress in key outcome areas
• Collaborate with Programme Leaders to identify improvements and co-create new  approaches or resources. 
• Promote child participation and co-creation in all aspects of programme design and delivery, ensuring children's voices inform organisational reporting and development. 
• Plan and arrange group 2-3 mentoring sessions annually with other programme managers 

3. Volunteer, Referral & Community Engagement 

• Work with the volunteer recruitment team to build local partnerships and referral networks to support volunteer recruitment and programme delivery. 
• Maintain strong relationships with referral partners (e.g., schools, community organisations) to ensure a steady referral pipeline and collaborative working and 80% of your schools are retained. 
• Provide updates of the programme to referral partners and share content to internal marketing and schools colleagues to support completing the schools termly impact template 
• Act as a key liaison between mentors and caregivers, supporting clear communication and shared understanding of child development and the programme. 

4. Safeguarding  

• Uphold a strong culture of safeguarding in your work, acting in compliance with our safeguarding policies and procedures at all times. 
• Contribute to TKN safer recruitment processes, attending internal mentor training events to vet prospective mentors. 
• Review and assess weekly delivery session reports from mentors, updating Salesforce as required. 
• Ensure every child participating in the programme experiences a positive ending in line with TKN positive ending guidance. 
• Work collaboratively with DSLs to follow TKN safeguarding processes, escalating where needed 

Skills Required for this Role

• Relationship Management: Build and maintain trust with mentors, children, schools, caregivers, and community partners. 
• Communication: Clear, professional communication across diverse stakeholders including written reports, training, phone calls, meetings and in person check-ins. 
• Data & Impact Tracking: Confident in using data management systems, ideally understanding of salesforce and other tools to track progress, outcomes, and ensure data accuracy. 
• Safeguarding & Compliance: Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and policy application. 
• Programme Delivery: highly organised with the ability to coordinate workshops, group sessions, and mentor support within quality frameworks. 
• Child-Centred Practice: Committed to capturing and integrating children’s voices in all areas of programme design and evaluation.

The Role

The Fundraising Manager will: 

• Manage a team of fundraisers to deliver growth and diversification of fundraising across community, corporate, events and philanthropy income streams
• Deliver Income in line with the budget as agreed with the Head of Fundraising
• Work closely with the Fundraising and Communication team to ensure activities are maximised.
• Deliver inspiring team meetings, workshops and training to develop the skills of the fundraising team.
• Ensure effective use of the organisation’s fundraising database by all staff to provide effective information and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Attend networking events and meetings with potential donors
• Promote effective management of the health and safety of all staff and volunteers involved in fundraising activity, including the preparation of risk assessments

Requirements

The Fundraising Manager will have: 

• Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience; substantial practical fundraising experience is essential
• Significant, hands-on experience of delivering successful fundraising across multiple income streams in the UK charity sector (including community, corporate, events and philanthropy), with the capability to lead across all areas
• Proven track record of leading, motivating and developing teams, including effective management of people processes, to deliver strong results
• Demonstrate strong IT capability, including Microsoft 365 (particularly Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Excel and PowerPoint), with the ability to produce high-quality progress reports and presentations
• Experience of using Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM systems to support fundraising activity, data management and reporting
• Manage budgets effectively, including forecasting, financial performance monitoring and income planning
• Proven ability to analyse and interpret data, produce performance reports, and use insight to inform decision making and drive income growth, including developing robust strategic business cases and reporting to senior stakeholders
• Fully conversant with legal and regulatory requirements relating to fundraising, including the Code of Fundraising Practice, data protection and information governance, ensuring compliant and ethical practice
• Lead the recruitment of staff and oversee the effective recruitment, engagement and management of fundraising volunteers

The Role 
 
As Retail Assurance Manager, you will provide specialist support, guidance, and oversight across all areas of operational risk within retail and estates, ensuring our locations operate safely, compliantly, and to agreed organisational standards. As the estate continues to grow, this role will enhance the organisation’s confidence in retail governance through effective assurance processes, training, and continuous improvement. 

The role will develop and maintain frameworks, policies, and tools to support retail managers in managing risk locally, covering areas such as Health and Safety, Fire Safety, financial controls and Gift Aid. By embedding accountability for risk management at every level, the Retail Assurance Manager will enable managers to own compliance within their areas, reinforcing a culture of safety, integrity, and strong performance. 

Working with the Head of Retail and Head of Retail Property and Estates, the post holder will design and deliver an operational annual retail audit programme, assessing performance across operational, financial, and compliance areas. Findings will inform improvement plans, demonstrate governance to the wider organisation, and help reduce incidents of non-compliance, theft, and fraud.

Specifically, you will: 

• Be the Health & safety (H&S) lead for retail and wider charity and be main point of contact for all related queries, concerns and escalations.  

• Provide “how to” checklists and guidance for ladders, steamers, reading and actioning risk assessments etc.  

• Be responsible for records of compliance training, Health & Safety inductions and DSE assessments across retail and the wider charity, flagging to senior managers non-compliance.  

• Develop risk assessments and processes with owners of the risk so these are relevant and highlight `immediate` and `progressive` actions.  

• Support the Centre Manager and Café Manager in food safety compliance developing food safety policies and procedures.  

• Work across retail and operations to ensure the Business Continuity Plan is up to date and maintain team`s risk registers.  

• Create an intuitive system to ensure Health & Ssafety policy and procedures are maintained, relevant and up to date.  

• Support provision of COSHH registers on our premises.  

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To have proven experience in an assurance, audit, compliance, risk, Health & Safety, or retail operations role (ideally within multi-site retail or a customer-facing estate).  

• To have working knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice (e.g., Health & Safety, Fire Safety, food safety where applicable, GDPR/data protection, safeguarding awareness) and the ability to translate requirements into practical guidance.  

• To have experience of planning and delivering an audit/inspection programme, including developing checklists/standards, conducting site visits, identifying non-conformance, and agreeing proportionate improvement actions.  

• To have experience of producing clear reports and presenting findings to different audiences, including senior stakeholders, with recommendations that balance risk, practicality and commercial impact.  

• A NEBOSH qualification would be preferred but we would consider IOSH with a view to training towards NEBOSH to the right applicant.  

• To be Educated to A Level or above.  

• To have basic Health and Safety and Fire training in previous roles alongside an awareness of GDPR, Cyber Security and Safeguarding or ability to demonstrate awareness of the above. Good understanding of Data Protection principles.  

• To have IT literacy in particular with Microsoft Office.

Go Beyond has given over 21,000 vulnerable children life-changing residential breaks since 1994. Young carers who spend their days looking after parents. Children living in poverty for whom a school holiday means hunger, not adventure. Children who've been bullied or bereaved and need a week away from their ordinary life.

The charity is entirely self-funded. £1.8 million a year, every penny raised by supporters. No government money. Which means the work this fundraising team does is directly and specifically what makes those breaks possible.

Go Beyond's flagship campaign, Ice Cream Moments, launches this summer — backed by Louis Theroux, James Acaster, David Gower and Jenny Agutter. The trustees want to go viral. A legacy programme is built and ready to launch. An alumni programme connecting with 21,000+ former beneficiaries is research-complete and waiting for someone to open the door. And a loyal supporter base of 200–300 regular givers — many of whom have been giving for over a decade — is generating £90,000 a year with almost no stewardship behind it.

What the role involves:

The Supporter Engagement & Fundraising Communications Manager will own the supporter communications function end to end. This is a project management and strategy role — not an execution role. The doing sits with two direct reports and a network of freelancers. Your job is to build the plan, manage the team, deliver the campaigns and make sure the data tells you what's working.

In practice that means:

• Building and managing proper supporter journeys for regular givers, challenge event runners and Ice Cream Moments donors
• Project managing the full campaigns calendar — four annual appeals, Ice Cream Moments, challenge events, and a growing digital communications programme
• Developing and implementing a data strategy, setting up income dashboards and overseeing the CRM
• Launching the legacy programme and, in time, the alumni programme
• Managing two direct reports: a Digital Marketing Officer and a Data & Admin / Challenge Events Officer
• Writing an 18-month strategy with proper pipelines and income forecasts

What we're looking for:

This is not a pure fundraiser role or a pure marketing role. It's a hybrid — and the right person will see that as a feature, not a confusion.

• A track record of owning campaigns end to end — not being part of them, owning them. Specific examples, with dates, outputs and results
• Genuine data literacy — comfortable in a CRM, able to run queries, understand segmentation. Not expert-level, but curious enough that you're never caught out
• Financial awareness — you ask what the target is before anything else. You work backwards from an income number
• Hands-on as well as strategic — you can delegate and direct, but you can also do
• Strong project management — multiple workstreams, freelancers, deadlines you can't move

Charity sector experience is welcome but not essential. Commercial direct marketing, agency-side or individual giving backgrounds are all genuinely considered.

The Organisation: YCS (Cwmni Siarad) was originally set up in 2011 to improve access to and meet the needs of groups traditionally under-represented in taking up psychological therapies, through the provision of accessible, evidence-based therapies and other support.   It has been mainly run by volunteers but is now progressing widening its services to provide facilities for private and contractual counselling support.  Any profits from its activities is used to subsidise the provision of counselling support to individuals who have difficulty accessing counselling services for a variety of reasons.  Apart from the delivery of face-to-face counselling in South East Wales, the organisation provides on-line counselling services throughout Wales.    

Job Purpose: To lead, manage and develop YCS Counselling services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accessible and ethical counselling provision. The postholder will support the safe and effective practice of student and volunteer counsellors, overseeing both the client journey and the placement experience to ensure positive outcomes for clients and a supportive, structured development environment for counsellors.

The role requires a strong understanding of the counselling sector, with the ability to work empathetically with a diverse client group, while supporting and guiding counsellors on placement.

As part of a small charity and an NCPS-recognised service, the postholder will adopt a hands-on approach, contributing directly to the day-to-day running of the service, working flexibly as part of the team, and supporting the practical operation of the therapy centre.

Working Pattern: 21 hours per week. Currently the post will be expected to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (9am – 5pm) at our Therapy Centre including one late shift per week (11am - 7pm).

Objectives:

(i)Ensure the delivery of safe, ethical and high-quality counselling services in line with professional standards (BACP/NCPS).

(ii) Develop and implement processes that improve client access, flow, and outcomes (e.g. waiting times, engagement, completion).

Service Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the day-to-day delivery of YCS counselling services, ensuring a high-quality, accessible and well-coordinated provision.
• Oversee the full client journey, including referral, assessment, allocation, engagement and endings.
• Manage client assessment appointments, waiting lists and allocation to counsellors to ensure timely and appropriate access.
• Maintain a small caseload, including undertaking client assessments and delivering counselling where required, particularly in more complex cases.
• Contribute to the smooth running of the therapy centre, including opening and closing the premises and working flexibly as part of a small team.

Student & Volunteer Counsellor Support

• Lead on the recruitment, induction and onboarding of student and volunteer counsellors.
• Provide ongoing guidance and support throughout the placement journey, ensuring a positive, structured and professionally enriching experience.
• Act as a key point of contact for counsellors, supporting them with queries relating to client work, processes and placement requirements.
• Monitor counsellor progress, including review of client logs, attendance and placement requirements, and completion of reports for training providers.
• Support counsellor wellbeing and development through regular communication, informal support and signposting where appropriate.

Clinical Quality & Safe Practice (in collaboration with Clinical Lead)

• Support the delivery of safe, ethical and effective counselling practice in line with NCPS (or equivalent) standards.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to counsellors on managing risk, safeguarding concerns and complex client presentations, escalating to the Clinical Lead where appropriate.
• Act as a safeguarding point of contact during operational hours (e.g. when locking up) and ensure concerns are appropriately recorded and escalated.
• Monitor client engagement, endings and overall service quality, identifying areas for improvement.

Service Development & Partnerships

• Support the Director in the ongoing development and growth of the counselling service.
• Build and maintain relationships with counselling training providers to support the recruitment and retention of placements.

Keep accurate and detailed records

About Action Tutoring
At Action Tutoring, we believe every child should be given the opportunity to succeed in school. But in the UK today, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are less likely to 

achieve the grades they need to progress in life. This isn't because they are any less able; they have less access to the tools to help them reach their potential. 

We don't think this is fair. We know tutoring is an effective way of improving academic attainment and so we harness the power of volunteer tutors to bridge the gap and ensure this help can be accessed by every pupil who needs it, not just those who can afford it.

About the opportunity

We are looking for a strong candidate with formal teaching qualifications and experience teaching core National Curriculum subjects to join our established Impact and Quality department as Curriculum and Quality Manager. This role has oversight for ensuring the creation and delivery of high-quality, tailored tutoring resources for pupils and tutors, and managing the quality assurance processes within our organisation. This role includes line managing a team composed of two Curriculum Leads. You will also work closely with colleagues in the Marketing and Communications Department to provide matrix project leadership for the delivery of Initial Tutor Training. 

To achieve this, we are looking for a candidate with experience teaching either English or maths (or equivalent) with a willingness to quickly understand the curriculum requirements in the other subject. You will have a strong understanding of how to set the standard for excellent tutor training and tutor quality assurance, using your educational expertise to shape effective training and quality assurance frameworks that enable tutors of varying experience levels to flourish. Freshwater Habitats Trust is the UK’s leading charity for all freshwaters. We are an evidence-led conservation organisation working to protect freshwater wildlife through practical, innovative and scientifically robust conservation projects across the UK and Europe.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Project Officer to lead and support the development and delivery of Natural Flood Management (NFM) and wider freshwater conservation projects. The role will involve working closely with farmers, landowners, partner organisations, regulators and local communities to design and implement practical interventions that deliver multiple environmental benefits, including flood resilience, habitat restoration, water quality improvement and biodiversity recovery.

The successful candidate will play a key role in translating ecological evidence and catchment priorities into deliverable on-the-ground projects.
