The Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary COO to lead our charity into its next chapter. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all operations, fundraising activity, and strategic development — ensuring that we deliver on our mission, grow our impact, and serve our member charities with excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Implement our forward-looking strategy to support the long-term success of the Helping Herts umbrella model.
• Act as a visible and credible ambassador for the organisation with stakeholders, funders, partners, and the public.
• Build strong relationships with the 12 partner charities to ensure their needs are heard, supported, and addressed.

Fundraising and Income Generation

• Lead and diversify fundraising efforts — from individual giving and corporate partnerships to major events and grant funding.
• Strengthen the charity’s profile and reach to attract long-term supporters and sponsors.
• Develop an income-generation strategy that is sustainable, collaborative, and impactful.

Operations and Governance

• Oversee daily operations and ensure the charity runs effectively and efficiently.
• Ensure legal, financial, and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with the Board of Trustees, preparing reports and providing strategic advice.

People and Culture

• Lead a small staff and volunteer team, fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, and inclusion.
• Build capacity through partnerships, volunteers, and external service providers.

Communications and Advocacy

• Shape and deliver a clear communications strategy, including public relations, social media, and stakeholder engagement.
• Act as a spokesperson and advocate for the sector locally and regionally.

Person Specification

Essential

• Proven leadership experience in the voluntary, public, or commercial sector.
• Track record of income generation and fundraising success.
• Strong operational, financial, and governance knowledge.

We are looking to recruit HOPELINE247 Advisers to provide individually tailored suicide prevention advice and guidance to young people and those who are concerned for them via our national multi-channel helpline HOPELINE247 and deliver suicide prevention training online and in community settings across the UK.

What you will do:

· Work as part of a team providing suicide prevention support to a range of clients via multichannel communication platforms.

· Work on a 7-day shift system

· Use professional judgement to assess the needs of the service users who present with risk to life and manage and report any matters related to safeguarding. 

· Maintain accurate records and input data monitoring into the data base system.

· Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practise. 

· Provide training, mentoring and coaching to new recruits.

To be successful in this role you will have:

· a degree or professional qualification in Health or Social Care, Community Work or a related discipline

· previous experience of working in an advisory capacity in suicide prevention or mental health

· a proven record of working directly with vulnerable young people

· experience of providing advice and guidance via multiple communication channels

· the ability to empathise, support and build rapport with suicidal people and those who care about them, remaining non-judgemental and adhering to the remit of the service

Salary: £31,454 per annum (Scale point 24) progressing by increments to £34,776 per annum (Scale point 28) As a night shift worker, you will receive an additional allowance of £173.00 per month based on working 4 nights per week.

Hours:  33 hours per week

Working arrangements:  This role will work shifts starting at 10:25pm and finishing at 7:40am. Shifts will be on a rota bases across a 7-day working week.  33 hours will be based upon working 4 nights shifts per week.

Job Title:Youth Engagement Officer

About the role

This role will continue to develop and deliver Allergy UK’s youth engagement initiative for our existing Youth Engagement Group for young adults living with allergies aged 18-25. 

This role will also need to recruit members to a new Youth Engagement Group for young people living with allergies aged 13-17.

Owing to the nature of this role, the successful candidate, will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

We are excited to create and deliver projects focused on engaging young people who live with allergy and providing opportunities for them to have a voice and support them in raising awareness of the issues that affect their life. We are seeking young people’s participation and co-production in all activities we develop to support their needs. The role of Youth Engagement Officer will be to engage with young people across the UK, to ensure that they have the opportunities and support to shape and influence Allergy UK’s programmes and activities for young people living with allergy.

The successful individual will work to develop youth engagement opportunities which increase skills, confidence, and life chances through supporting young people living with this disease to overcome any barriers they face.

 As a Youth Engagement Officer, you will have experience of working positively with young people and have a proactive nature. Organisation skills and initiative is a must as you will be the lead on our youth provision.You will be required to coordinate activities with young people such as online and in-person engagement, blogs, podcasts, learning and digital activities. In addition to this, you will need to effectively lead the young people to help them shape services for young people in the allergic community to better improve the standard of care that exists in the public, private and commercial sectors.

These activities will be centred on practice of co-production. We are looking for someone who wants to work as part of a team to engage young people, to highlight unheard voices and stories and promote progress and change through action.

Key responsibilities:

• Plan, project manage and deliver exciting new co-production projects and establish positive links with young people and promote active participation in activities.
• Provide opportunities for young people to have a voice and support them in getting involved in Allergy UK’s awareness and public affairs to influence governmental change and improve services for young people with allergy.
• Create, develop and lead on the work of the Allergy UK Youth Forum.

The Benefits Service within South East London Mind is a well-established offer of support to clients who need to access welfare benefits they are entitled to receive. The service currently provides casework support for people who need to challenge benefits decisions across the three boroughs of Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich. There is also a cross-area team of volunteers who assist with form filling and all aspects of the assessment process.

We are looking for a Benefits Service Manager with significant experience of working within welfare benefits. You will have a good understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems and the links with welfare issues. You will take responsibility for the quality of support the team deliver to ensure it is robust and accountable. We hope to be able to extend our offer of support in the future so it will be important you have an interest in developing the service.

Applicants should have previous experience of thinking strategically to develop a service and of managing a team to deliver the support. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

This role delivers a range of dynamic and engaging financial education programmes to young people, adults, and professionals. As part of our Programmes and Delivery Directorate, our Trainers love working with our participants; they’re the front line of our work, representing Money Ready’s exceptional programme quality in a range of settings.

This role will work with both children and adults across our programme suite and will require significant travel to our delivery locations throughout the area to deliver face-to-face sessions to diverse groups of learners. Occasional virtual sessions will also need to be delivered. All delivery-related travel is covered by a London TfL travel card, provided by Money Ready.

Tutorials are delivered online to groups of up to 4 students via our bespoke online learning platform.

Tutorials generally take place between the hours of 3pm and 8pm on weekday evenings, with flexibility around the schedules of our tutors and students.

Who are we?

St. John's is a non-maintained specialist provision, working with autistic people, the majority of whom also have learning disabilities. Some of our learners have co-occurring conditions such as epilepsy, hearing or visual impairments, or mental health needs. We also support autistic learners who have an additional profile of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) syndrome. We are looking for a skilled trust fundraising leader to take on the key role of Senior Trusts and Grants Manager, supporting our mission to help people rebuild their lives and end homelessness for good.

As Senior Trusts and Grants Manager, you’ll lead a thriving team of four, manage strategic funding relationships, and ensure ambitious income targets are achieved. You’ll also maintain your own portfolio of high-value funders, representing St Mungo’s with confidence and credibility.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of high-value trusts and foundations to secure essential funding for our work.
• Lead, support, and inspire the Trusts and Grants team, maintaining a collaborative and positive team culture,where everyone can achieve their income and relationship management targets.
• Oversee the overall trusts programme, including pipeline development,  proposal quality, income tracking, due diligence, and relationships.
• Act as the organisational lead on trust fundraising, enabling senior colleagues to build strong relationships with key funders.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities.
