Brighton and Hove Parent Carers Council (PaCC) – Co-production, Engagement and Communications Co-ordinator

•  24-28 hours per week, to be worked flexibly, across 4-5 days of the week, with the option for term-time only or 52 weeks/year contract

PaCC is the parent carer forum for Brighton and Hove.  We represent parents and carers of children and young people 0-25 with special educational needs and disabilities in Brighton and Hove.  We work in co-production with Brighton and Hove City Council, NHS Surrey and Sussex and others to improve local SEND services and support for local families.  PaCC is hosted by local Sussex based charity Amaze.

This is a great opportunity for a proactive and passionate person with lived experience to empower and amplify the voices of parent carers in Brighton and Hove. You will thrive on managing multiple projects and workstreams, juggling priorities and working in a small team, where you are able to plan and prioritise your own work. What You’ll Do:

You’ll be part of our Disclosures & Training team, working collaboratively to provide administrative and customer service support. Please note we are looking for someone with experience of processing large volumes of DBS checks.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance to members phoning the Disclosure Service and to give a consistently high level of customer service. 

• Maintain computer records relating to the provision of thirtyone:eight membership and disclosure service

• Participate in an effective and appropriate triage system operated for callers to the training team.

• Processing disclosure application forms ensuring that they meet legal requirements.

Specific Responsibilities

• Deal with incoming post, emails and telephone enquiries relating to the operation of the Disclosure Service.  

• Carefully check information received to ensure completeness, following up any enquiries necessary by post, telephone or e-mail.      

• Check and countersign online disclosure application forms and then forward the application to the Disclosure and Barring Service or AccessNI for processing.  

• Enter details of disclosure applications and members of thirtyone:eight on the database (Microsoft Dynamics). 

• Follow up all queries, discrepancies and other issues as appropriate with client churches/organisations and the Disclosure and Barring Service.  

• Participate in internal and external meetings and training events as required – mostly online but occasionally in-person.  

• Prepare reports and data information as requested.  

• At all times work within the policies and Code of Practice laid down by the Disclosure and Barring Service, thirtyone:eight and UK Data Protection Legislation and GDPR.

• Under the Health & Safety at Work Act and associated guidance, take adequate care for the health and safety of oneself and other persons who may be affected by an individual’s acts or omissions.

Role Purpose
We are looking to recruit a talented, dynamic and professional Engagement Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead all aspects of the Flintshire Befrienders project. 
Flintshire Befrienders is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and supports older people experiencing social isolation and loneliness.  Our team of Volunteer Befrienders provide companionship, help to build confidence, and encourage engagement in the local community.  The project consists of:

· One-to-one befriending in a person’s home, or over the telephone

· Community buddying – support to attend local community groups and events

· Volunteer-led events – activities that older people can engage in, based on their interests

The right candidate would be someone with experience of supporting and managing volunteers, working with older people facing isolation and loneliness, as well as someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate a commitment to our organisational values.

The Sheppard Trust provides homes for older women in housing need, and we support them to live independently.  We reduce loneliness and isolation by fostering a supportive community spirit.   

We're about to move to brand-new, purpose built accommodation near Hampton Court village in Surrey, with 60 one bedroomed flats and a range of communal facilities.  Our residents will live independently in their homes, with assistance to access the appropriate support services to maintain independence.We want them to live full and active lives in an inclusive, thriving community which is well regarded in our local community.

We’re looking for someone proactive and flexible to help us for the first six months, as we set up the building, set up our new systems, and move everyone in.  This will be a really varied role where no two days are the same, and will be a mixture of administration and practical tasks.  You could be getting our staff kitchen set up, preparing the paperwork for a new resident, helping someone set up their heating controls or utility accounts, setting up and updating databases, answering queries at reception, logging maintenance tasks or helping with an event.

About the role

The Doncaster Therapeutic Service is based within therapeutic services in the Resettlement Team in South Yorkshire. The Resettlement team provides advice and support for resettled refugees to help them access services and mainstream provision and establish community links. Working closely with local stakeholders and in partnership with other voluntary sector agencies, the Refugee Council Resettlement team promotes both the integration and independence of this group.

The Psychological Therapist role is designed to provide one-to-one psychological therapy to resettled refugees presenting with mental distress. We have adopted a psychosocial perspective and use a specially tailored care model to address the needs of our clients. The team have supported resettled adult refugees in South Yorkshire by providing short-term one-to-one therapeutic support since September 2017.

In this role, you will support our Head of ECF Faculty and Heads of Programme to coordinate the ECF programme alongside programme managers in each region, who are responsible for the proactive and effective planning, execution and administration of all programmes, including the ECF within their regions.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• To manage workflow and communications across the regional ECF teams.
• To coordinate and administer our ECF programme across regions.
• To be a key point of contact for our programme partners and participants to support them with responses around programme logistics.
• To draft and post ECF programme updates on the Learning Management System (LMS).
• To liaise with partners about visits, quality assurance and feedback.
• To gather, collate and analyse feedback from programme sessions to inform design and delivery in the future through effective communication with faculty team.
• To help prepare key events for the ECF programme, such as National Webinars, including the drafting of guidance, communications and registration.
• To support during key events across the faculty including online webinars and partner briefings.
• To support the Head of ECF and Regional Heads of Programme with other administrative efforts around the ECF programme. This might include helping to organise key meetings with our Associate Colleges, administrative tasks related to the ECF or hands-on support with marketing, recruitment and quality assurance.
• To coordinate team meetings and activities throughout the year.
• To sit on the viva assessment panels for a maximum of three days per year to support the process.
• To provide support at the annual graduation event which is on a Saturday and notice will be provided.

Working at the National Institute of Teaching

• Contract: Full Time; Temporary to 31 August 2027.
• Salary: £31,537 per annum plus benefits (plus London weighting if applicable).
