Harris Hill is working with a health membership body, supporting their drive to recruit an interim Senior Media and Communications Officer, for 6 months, on a hybrid basis in London. 

Key responsibilities:

Take the lead in handling and responding to media enquiries for the organisations various localities, in a timely manner, liaising with the Head of External Affairs, Heads, colleagues, partners and key spokespeople.
Plan and deliver proactive communications campaigns in line with the org's relevant policy priorities.
Monitor the media and react when appropriate opportunities present themselves, including on major Government announcements and stakeholder activities.
Work with colleagues from the relevant Policy teams, as well as the wider media and comms team, to ensure all external messaging is consistent and has been approved as per the org’s approvals process.
Prepare spokespeople for media activity, including drafting media briefings attending interviews and supporting post-interview follow-up.
Work with colleagues to ensure the org’s media and comms activity, in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland is promoted across our owned platforms, including uploading to the website.

Contribute to the day-to-day activities supporting the smooth operation of the press office, including timely monitoring and circulation of devolved media coverage, social media monitoring, and regular reporting.
Participate in the out-of-hours press office rota, including monitoring social media, while keeping the Head of External Affairs informed of any potential risk.

Your role 

You will be responsible for the management, development and delivery of marketing and communications to support CWNN’s fundraising strategy. You’ll work alongside our Development Manager to create compelling fundraising campaigns, content and communications, growing engagement from individuals, companies, community fundraisers and potential funders while simultaneously raising our profile among stakeholders through strategic communications and marketing plans. This work includes:   

• Work alongside our Development Manager to create and deliver impactful and innovative fundraising strategies including our public appeals, challenge events and local fundraising campaigns.

• Developing and implementing communications strategies to promote CWNN’s work, managing our social media platforms and external comms to ensure they reflect our strategic goals and values. 

• Producing our supporter e-newsletter, with support from the Development team, to ensure CWNN’s key work, impact, news and campaigns are effectively promoted to our supporter base.

• Create engaging digital content for our website and social media including written copy, video and graphics, to drive engagement, increase awareness and generate income.

• Capturing and analysing key campaign engagement KPIs to inform future strategies and approaches to best engage existing and new audiences.

•  Produce quarterly comms impact overview for senior management and trustee reports.

• Create marketing materials for external use, eg. corporate pitch documents, fundraising packs, gig programmes, flyers and posters using Canva.

• Co-creating case studies, supporting members to share their stories, their way, amplifying their voices and demonstrating the impact of our choirs to stakeholders.

The Communications, Marketing and Insight team at KCLSU are looking for a Communications Officer to develop and implement communications plans for a diverse range of work including both internal and external communications, to increase awareness, engagement and satisfaction.

• Developing communications plans for liberation history months, wellbeing, advice and volunteering initiatives and providing communications support where needed.

At different times, you’ll provide support to our varied campaigns—from aviation to community energy to traffic reduction to electrical repair—offering you the chance to engage with a lot of different people, in a range of ways.

We usually work 9.30am-5.30pm but staff can use flexitime to work the hours that work for them depending on the day or request different standard hours.

Skills and experience

We are looking for an experienced and proactive communications officer to cover maternity leave for a minimum of six months.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the postholder will create clear, engaging content, monitor media coverage, and help ensure IPSO’s communications are accurate, accessible and aligned with its role as regulator of UK digital news, newspapers and magazines.

A personal interest in current affairs and the news industry is a must, but there is no need for a degree or qualification in this area. You will have strong interpersonal skills, an ability to get things done, and you will enjoy working with a range of colleagues and stakeholders.

You will also have excellent written skills and superb project management skills.

Hybrid: Envision operates a hybrid working policy with one day per week in a regional office, plus ad-hoc travel across regions for events and training. 

Role: This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in how Envision brings its mission to life — through well-run fundraising events and compelling communications that inspire supporters and put young people's stories front and centre. 

As Events and Communications Officer, you will take ownership of our annual events programme, including our flagship fundraising event, the Envision Cycling Challenge. From logistics and budget management through to post-event donor recognition and evaluation, you will oversee the full events lifecycle — always looking for ways to grow our offer, attract new supporters and drive income. You will work towards an annual income target as part of a collaborative and ambitious Philanthropy and Partnerships team. 

On the communications side, you will create written and visual content that conveys the impact of our work across social media, e-newsletters, impact reports and donor updates. Working closely with the Communications Manager, you will ensure our messaging is consistent, inspiring and reaches the right audiences — while also supporting internal communications that help connect and inform our teams across the organisation. 

This is a role for someone who is as comfortable crafting a compelling story as they are managing a complex event; someone who thrives on variety, takes pride in the details and genuinely cares about the young people at the heart of our work. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, deliver and manage the annual events workplan, working towards an annual income target 

• Coordinate and run all fundraising events including the Envision Cycling Challenge, managing logistics, budgets, compliance and evaluation 

• Create compelling written and visual content for external and internal communications across multiple channels 

• Support the development and delivery of donor communications, impact reports and supporter updates 

• Track and report on events performance, supporter engagement and communications metrics 

• Maintain accurate donor records on Salesforce and support timely donor recognition processes 

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Competencies: 

• Experience of events planning and management for events of varying scale and different audiences 

• Experience of creating engaging communications content, including social media, newsletters and reports 

• Strong project management skills — highly organised, with the ability to work with initiative and manage multiple priorities 

• Demonstrable success in building and maintaining relationships with supporters or stakeholders 

• Strong attention to detail across both events delivery and written communications 

• Commitment to Envision's vision, mission and values

About the role

The Regional Communications Officer role is an exciting and varied opportunity to work with Emmaus communities across the South of the UK, helping to raise their profile and engage supporters.

You will work closely with up to four Emmaus communities to identify their communications needs and deliver a mix of activity to help them achieve their goals. As part of a wider team, you will also share ideas and build on each other’s experience to maximise PR, digital and communications opportunities.

This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility to work from home or from within an Emmaus community.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders will be key to this role. Regular travel to your allocated communities is essential, typically at least once a week, so we are looking for someone based in or around London. You will also attend quarterly team meetings, usually held in Birmingham, although these may occasionally take place elsewhere in the UK and may require an overnight stay.

This is a part-time role, Monday to Friday, with a minimum of 22.5 hours a week (three days) and the potential for the role to be four days a week (30 hours), to be confirmed at interview.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with a strong communications skillset and at least two years’ experience in a busy communications, public relations or marketing role. While not essential, knowledge of homelessness and the charity sector would be an advantage.

Creativity and passion are essential. You will have a broad range of communications skills, enjoy seeing your ideas come to life and be keen to continue developing your experience within a national homelessness charity.

What we offer

About you

• Has experience working in a communications role, delivering activity across multiple channels
