Communications Manager
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on communications all-rounder with a breadth of skills to lead all regional and local communications activities in the areas where we are developing new Youth Zones.
The breadth of this role means no two days are the same, which is why we are seeking somebody organised, dynamic and self-motivated with exceptional project management and stakeholder management skills.

Position: Regional Communications Manager
Location: Hybrid working: two days a week in an OnSide office (based in either Bolton or White City, London) combined with home-working and travel across our Youth Zones Network (including those in development) plus occasional other travel as required.

About the Role
With 19 Open Youth Zones, supporting 60,000 young people, the organisation is moving into a period of steady growth towards their long-term goal of 35 Youth Zones by 2035. This role will take sole responsibility for communications activity across live and established projects including those currently in development.
This is a key role within the communications team that will see you create understanding and awareness between the charity and the key local and regional audiences that matter to us as.
This role will involve managing a portfolio of end-to-end integrated communications and PR programmes across multiple Youth Zones at various stages of development. You will work closely with the teams, each Youth Zone’s relationship managers and fundraisers, as well as its CEO, and Trustee Board, and Young People's Development Group, acting as their trusted communications advisor. You will also collaborate with local stakeholders including Local Authority communications leads and supporters, to help establish the new Youth Zones as independent charities.
It is important to note that this role lays the foundations for each new Youth Zones’ ongoing communications approach. For each project you will be required to effectively and smoothly handover to the Youth Zones full time communication resource once in place while continuing to provide light touch ongoing support - so some experience mentoring or coaching and supporting others is beneficial.
About You
We will be looking for someone that can demonstrate a broad range of communications skills from brand development to working with local media to place newsworthy, positive stories around the Youth Zone development, to supporting the development of new Youth Zone websites and the launch of social media channels.
You will have experience of:
· Communications, either in agency or in house
· All-round integrated communications experience, including PR, copywriting and digital

Primary Responsibilities
Salesforce Platform Management
· Day to day management of the Back Up Trust Salesforce system
· Implement and enforce data quality standards within Salesforce, including regular data cleansing, deduplication, and validation procedures to ensure the accuracy of information

Brand Guardianship: Act as the lead designer for UnitedGMH assets, including reports, to ensure digital assets consistently meet a "memorable thought leader" standard. Movember has an ambitious five-year strategy, and this nine-month contract role sits right at the heart of making it happen. As Project Manager, Global Fundraising, you'll be the connective tissue between Movember's global and local fundraising teams, keeping complex, multi-workstream initiatives moving on time, on scope, and on target across every market we operate in.
Working closely with the Global Director of Mass Fundraising, the Global Director of Markets, the Interim CEO, and the Campaign Steering Committee, you'll help design and deliver the annual Global Campaign Plan, manage the cross-functional Campaign squad, and develop fundraising initiatives that local teams across six markets can actually bring to life. That means building clear briefs, practical toolkits, and implementation guidance that translate global ambition into local execution, and then partnering with those local teams to make sure they have everything they need to succeed.
On any given day you might be managing project plans and timelines, facilitating steering committee sessions, identifying risks before they become problems, tracking KPIs across markets, or supporting the Interim CEO on organisation-wide delivery of the One Mo Plan. This is a global role, and that means some out-of-hours collaboration across time zones is part of the deal. The Diocese of Rochester is seeking a Community Engagement and Social Action Adviser to join our dynamic team supporting parishes as they respond to the needs of their communities. You’ll work to equip churches to live out the third and fourth Marks of Mission—responding to human need and transforming unjust structures—enabling local Christian communities to show God’s love in action.
About the Role
Reporting to the Lead Community Engagement and Social Action (CESA) Adviser, you’ll play a key part in helping churches understand their local contexts and develop impactful responses to social needs. You’ll support parishes in accessing data, funding opportunities, and partnerships, help grow volunteer-led community initiatives across the Diocese, and collaborate with multiple workstreams, contributing to the wider strategic aims of our programme.
Your key responsibilities will include;
· Planning and supporting the delivery of diocesan community engagement and social action initiatives
· Taking the lead on some of the key social issues affecting local communities
· Nurturing positive working relationships with parishes
· Offering advice and signposting on funding, partnerships, and best practice
· Developing and analysing local demographic data to inform parish strategy
· Delivering and collating surveys and listening exercises, and facilitating events and focus groups
· Coordinating and expanding community networks across the Diocese
· Encouraging and equipping parish volunteers and community hubs
· Building strong relationships with parishes and external partner organisations
· Acting as a bridge between local churches and wider community stakeholders
· Working in collaboration with other departments within the Diocese on shared endeavours that help support the Diocesan Strategy.
You will be a visible and supportive presence across the Diocese—helping churches to connect deeply with their communities and respond with creativity, compassion, and confidence.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
· A disciple of Jesus with a deep commitment to faith in action and social justice
· Passionate about faith in action and addressing the 3rd and 4th Marks of Mission
· Experienced in community engagement, social action or the voluntary sector through working in the charity, local authority or public sector
· Has experience of organising and leaving events and focus groups
· A skilled communicator who is approachable, encouraging, and adaptable
· A natural networker who can build strong partnerships across sectors
· Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects
· Experienced in project coordination and working with volunteers
· Comfortable analysing and presenting data to support local planning
· Confident using Microsoft Office and digital communication tools
Desirable: Bid-writing experience, and familiarity with Church of England parish structures and contexts.
There is an Occupational Requirement (OR) for the postholder to be a communicant member of the Church of England (or a Church in communion with it, or a member Church of Churches Together in England, Council of Churches for Britain and Ireland, or the Evangelical Alliance).
This role will include travel across the Diocese including some evenings and weekends.

Overview
The role will provide high-quality administrative, systems, and research support to the Quality Team, enabling consistent quality assurance across the grant-making cycle. The postholder will administer and improve the team’s Salesforce processes and data standards, coordinate key workflows and information management, support the Director of Quality, Quality Assurance Specialist and Impact (MEAL) Coordinator with scheduling and documentation, and deliver defined research tasks and short projects (e.g., into quality assurance approaches, MEAL frameworks, tools and best practice) to strengthen the team’s work.

Key Responsibilities
Salesforce administration and systems support
Administrative support to the Quality Director and team coordination
·Coordinate team processes, including shared calendars, team meetings, process documentation, and communications that help the Quality Team operate consistently.

·Maintain a small library of standards, templates, guidance, and reference materials (including MEAL and QA resources) for the team.
Pre-Committee Proposal Scrutiny
·Formal review of all project proposals before submission to the projects subcommittee to improve quality by ensuring:
oProposals are internally consistent;
oProposed solutions credibly meet the identified needs;
oThe response is proportionate and broadly consistent with other Barnabas Aid projects of a similar nature;
oBeneficiary selection is conducted appropriately and can be justified;
oThe proposal is strategically aligned, represents good value-for-money and meets all of Barnabas Aid’s project policies;
oRelevant harms have been considered and mitigated;
oA proportionate M&E approach is in place;
oPrudent but pragmatic financial arrangements (e.g. split into tranches, use of intermediaries) are adopted and justified.
·In conjunction with regional teams, undertake light editing of proposals to improve clarity and correct inconsistencies and typographical errors.
·Document checks to ensure all due diligence activities have been conducted before proposal is put to the subcommittee.
Post-Committee Follow-up
·Track actions provided by committee to ensure projects fully implement committee decisions (e.g. splitting into tranches, reporting requirements, risk management, etc)
·Draft, for regional team’s approval, project approval/project rejection letters to partners, including all relevant provisions for management of the grants.
Compliance, confidentiality, and continuous improvement
·Support the Quality Team to evidence required checks and maintain consistent records across systems and files, raising risks or gaps as appropriate.

Essential

·Experience administering or providing ‘super-user’ support for a CRM/database (preferably Salesforce), including maintaining data standards and producing reports/dashboards.
·Experience with document control and shared filing systems (e.g SharePoint), including version control and maintaining audit-ready records.
·Experience undertaking structured research tasks and producing clear summaries/recommendations for non-specialist audiences.
·Highly organised with strong attention to detail; able to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
·Strong systems aptitude: able to document processes, apply data standards, run checks, and support colleagues to use systems consistently.
·Ability to produce clear reports/briefings and summarise research into practical recommendations.
