Lightbox Gallery & Museum is entering an ambitious new phase as we prepare for our 20th anniversary in 2027. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced and initiative-taking fundraiser to help shape the organisation’s future by developing new income streams and leading our anniversary campaign, Lightbox20.

You will take ownership of the campaign activity across the organisation - developing strategy, building relationships with donors and partners, and delivering income to agreed targets. At the same time, you will manage the practical detail that underpins successful fundraising, including stewardship and our CRM system.

Key priorities are developing and delivering the Big Give campaign this year, capital fundraising for the garden and our 20th anniversary Lightbox 20.  

This role will suit someone who thrives in a small organisation, understands the unique challenges and opportunity this brings and who is self-motivated to build an ambitious campaign from the ground up. The successful appointee will combine strategic thinking with direct delivery, collaborating closely with the Director and Trustees to secure the next chapter of Lightbox Gallery’s success.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Fundraising Leadership

• Lead the delivery of the Lightbox20 anniversary campaign, creating compelling cases for support, preparing fundraising collateral, and engaging supporters and stakeholders.
• Deliver an ambitious fundraising campaign with clear targets that is aligned with organisational goals.
• Identify and develop new fundraising opportunities, partnerships, and income streams, including the Big Give campaign for Giving Tuesday December 2026.

Relationship and pipeline management

• Collaborate closely with the Trustees and Director to identify, build, and manage relationships with individual donors, supporters and prospects.
• Develop cultivation and stewardship plans, including face-to-face meetings, events, and personalised engagement.
• Confidently represent the organisation when meeting donors and supporters.

• Identify local business sponsorship opportunities and approach relevant businesses to celebrate Lightbox20.
• Maintain strong relationships with funding partners through effective reporting and stewardship.

Event support

• Support and attend fundraising events and campaigns, including Director’s Circle events, and donor cultivation and stewardship activities.
• Work collaboratively across the organisation to maximise fundraising opportunities within exhibitions and public programmes.

Fundraising Operations & Administration

• Manage campaign donor communications, acknowledgements, and stewardship processes.
• Conduct prospect research and maintain accurate records.
• Monitor income, prepare reports, and track fundraising performance on the database, Raiser’s Edge.
• Ensure fundraising activities comply with relevant regulations and best practice.

Project Leadership & Governance

• End-to-End Delivery: Own the project lifecycle for high-stakes initiatives, applying Prince 2 principles to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to budget.
• Strategic Risk Management: Identify potential "roadblocks"—whether cultural, financial, or technical—and develop robust mitigation plans to keep the organisation protected.

• Stakeholder Influence: Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and departmental managers to maintain alignment and navigate competing priorities.
• Change Management: Recognise that new systems or processes require a shift in culture. You will lead the "people" side of change, ensuring staff are supported and engaged throughout the transition.

External Partnerships & Resource Management

• Strategic Procurement: Lead the selection and onboarding of external service providers or consultants. This includes defining requirements, evaluating tenders, and conducting high-level contract negotiations.
• Vendor Accountability: Act as the primary point of contact for external partners, ensuring they meet their contractual obligations and provide value for money.
• Expert Liaison: Work confidently with subject-matter experts (SMEs)—whether they are technologists, legal consultants, or financial experts. You will translate complex "expert-speak" into clear, actionable insights for the wider team.

Our projects often involve updating the "engine room" of the charity. While this is not an IT role, you will frequently lead projects involving:

Person Specification

Essential:

• Prince 2 Practitioner (or equivalent project management framework)
• Significant experience leading cross-functional projects in a mid-to-large organisation

Additional Information:

Due to the nature of the role and the organisation, we believe that this post is subject to an occupational requirement that the holder be a practising Christian under Part 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. Terms and Conditions:

This is a full-time, permanent position. The salary will be up to £39,500 per annum, depending upon experience.

This position is 37 hours per week.

The position is offered subject to the satisfactory completion of a three-month probationary period.

Holiday entitlement is five weeks per annum, rising to six weeks after two years’ continuous service, plus statutory holidays.

The role

We are seeking a policy and public affairs leader to drive influence, advocacy and campaigning in Wales. This high-profile role will represent the organisation at senior levels, engaging with Ministers, Members of the Senedd (MSs), officials and the media to champion speech and language therapy and those with communication and swallowing needs. 

You will lead the development and delivery of policy and campaigning strategy, building cross-party relationships, shaping national campaigns and supporting members to influence both locally and nationally in English and Welsh. The role also involves planning impactful events, strengthening partnerships and acting as a key spokesperson on policy and legislative issues. 

Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders, you will oversee policy development and responses, ensuring emerging legislation and policy are effectively analysed, influenced and communicated. You will also play a central role in promoting the profession, supporting members and networks across Wales and representing the organisation at a senior level to advance its strategic goals.

We’re looking for a confident policy professional with strong political awareness and a passion for influencing change. Welsh speaking is desirable however not essential. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of health, social care and education policy, alongside knowledge of political processes, particularly within the Welsh Parliament and Government and an appreciation of the role of a professional body. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of influencing policy in health, education or social care, with a proven track record in lobbying or campaigning at local or national level. You will be skilled in developing policy initiatives from research, evidence and practice, and communicating complex findings to a wide range of audiences. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and influencer, confident in advising civil servants and politicians on sensitive matters and capable of leading or contributing to projects across a complex organisation.

  Role Purpose 
 
The Home from Hospital project in Newcastle is funded by the Northeast and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board. Preventing readmissions to hospital is crucial for the NHS. Re-admissions cost the NHS over £2 billion per year, and no-one wants to be in hospital when they can be recovering safely and comfortably at home. The project was developed to help enable older people to thrive back at home, and in the community, while at the same time supporting the NHS.
 
We recruit, train, support and coordinate volunteers, who provide a “little bit of help” to people who may be socially isolated, have health issues, or don’t have many people around them. Volunteers provide social, emotional or practical support, completing short-term tasks. This includes things like helping with shopping, collecting medical prescriptions, in person or telephone check in’s, driving someone to an appointment, helping with paperwork, ensuring the home is safe and secure, and more.

What the job involves

This is a key role focused on delivering, growing and developing some of our most important and high-profile partnerships. You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of major partners, building on strong existing relationships and turning them into long-term, strategic collaborations that deliver real impact and sustained income.

Working within our Account Development team, you’ll look beyond day-to-day delivery to unlock new opportunities. You’ll spot where partnerships can grow, whether that’s through extending existing activity, opening up new areas of collaboration or bringing fresh ideas that add value for both sides. A big part of the role is building trusted, senior-level relationships and using those connections to deepen engagement and create further opportunities.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to make sure partnerships are joined up, high quality and aligned with our wider goals. At the same time, you’ll use insight and data to shape plans, track performance and make sure partnerships continue to develop and improve over time.

Overall, this role is about managing strong partnerships and helping them go further, growing their value, strengthening relationships and turning them into something even more impactful over the long term.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Partnership Development Manager who brings a strong track record of delivering high-quality campaigns and partnerships that drive genuine, sustained income growth. You’ll be skilled in managing and developing major partnerships, with experience of working at a high-value level in either the charity sector or a comparable commercial environment. Alongside this, you’ll bring a strategic mindset, with the ability to spot opportunities, think creatively and turn ideas into meaningful, long-term value.

Building strong relationships will come naturally to you. You’ll be comfortable engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, bringing credibility, clarity and confidence to your conversations. You’ll also have a commercially aware approach, with the ability to negotiate effectively, balance different priorities and create outcomes that work for everyone involved.

We’d be particularly interested to hear from you if you have experience managing complex, multi-year or transformational partnerships, or if you’ve worked across commercial, agency or charity settings. Requirements

The Fundraising Manager will have: 

• Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience; substantial practical fundraising experience is essential
• Significant, hands-on experience of delivering successful fundraising across multiple income streams in the UK charity sector (including community, corporate, events and philanthropy), with the capability to lead across all areas
• Proven track record of leading, motivating and developing teams, including effective management of people processes, to deliver strong results
• Demonstrate strong IT capability, including Microsoft 365 (particularly Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Excel and PowerPoint), with the ability to produce high-quality progress reports and presentations
• Experience of using Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM systems to support fundraising activity, data management and reporting
• Manage budgets effectively, including forecasting, financial performance monitoring and income planning

This role will manage a diverse portfolio spanning across multiple income streams - consisting of Glass Door flagship annual events, community fundraising, challenge events, school, church and local business giving. Whilst we have a very loyal supporter network - this is a fabulous opportunity to deepen our roots and increase our community giving and engagement, as well as strategise creatively on how to expand our network. 

This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to use their expertise in Community fundraising to strengthen our corporate partnerships through employee led fundraising, events and cause-led marketing.

You will take an active part in rejuvenating, stewarding and growing our Corporate Giving programme, working collaboratively and creatively with the Senior Fundraising team to nurture our existing relationships, seek opportunities for cultivation and further engagement. 

Community & Events:

Glass Door Flagship Events  

• Lead, plan and deliver our largest, annual flagship fundraising event – Sleep Out; our annual Supporter Thank You Event and our annual Christmas Carols Service 

• Cultivate opportunities for corporate sponsorship for our events 

Community Fundraising Events  

• Lead, plan and deliver a year-round calendar of Fundraising & Challenge Events across the community and corporate employee fundraising.

• Focus on recruiting and supporting participants for core flagship challenge events – such as the Royal Park Half, Tough Mudder and Skydives - as well as using the tool Run for Charity to expand our portfolio and community of supporters.

Churches & Schools  

• Lead, plan and deliver a year-round calendar of events, talks and opportunities for engagement through donations, collections, events & in-kind donations.

• Steward key relationships across our church & school network ensuring quick, thoughtful and organised communications 

• Act as an ambassador (as well as support colleagues across the organisation), to plan and deliver, talks and presentations throughout the year to champion our work and encourage engagement 

Partnerships: 

• Co-steward an existing Corporate portfolio who give through, sponsorships, events/ employee fundraising, challenge events, cause related marketing and donations. 

• Identify and develop partnerships and sponsorship opportunities with organisations aligned with the charity’s mission 

• Develop employee engagement and fundraising opportunities with our corporate partners 

Strategy:

• Plan and deliver a year-round activity plan and fundraising strategy to support and grow a portfolio with a six-figure annual income target across multiple income streams. 

• Work collaboratively with the fundraising team to secure an organisation-wide forecasted budget of £2+million

• Conduct an evaluation after each event, considering its successes, factors which could be improved and any recommendations moving forward. 

Collaboration:

• Work closely and collaboratively with: 

• The Communications team, specifically, our Marketing Officer to ensure our voice and brand are consistent across all supporter communications, and to optimise usage of email & paid social media marketing

• Colleagues across the organisation to deliver presentations and talks across the community about our work and impact 

• The Volunteer & Involvement Manager to maximise engagement across a community of 800+ volunteers 

Other: 

• Carry out the functions of the post with proper regard to Glass Door’s Equal Opportunities Policy. 

• Attend and participate in Manager meetings, and other ad hoc meetings when necessary. 

• Develop positive internal working relationships with relevant colleagues, working collaboratively with to ensure communications, data protection legislation, database management and donation processing are all handled appropriately. 

• Carry out line management responsibilities and ad-hoc co-management of cross-team deliverables 

Person Spec: 

We are seeking an energetic, insightful and creative fundraiser who has the confidence to take on a diverse portfolio and will have demonstrable experience at manager level within one or more of these core areas: events, community or corporate fundraising. We are looking for someone who can think strategically whilst also be willing to ‘roll up their sleeves’ and deliver - someone who enjoys building relationships, working collaboratively with their colleagues and volunteers, engaging with supporters and driving activity forward. 

Knowledge & Experience 

• Proven experience and demonstrable success in community fundraising at manager level; securing income from a range of fundraising streams and delivering a range of activities. 

• Experience managing complex events delivering six-figure income targets 

• Strong stewarding and relationship management skills under-pinned by values and principle-based fundraising 

• Up to date knowledge of the regulatory regime around fundraising and data protection. 

• Experience of managing budgets including forecasting, monitoring and regular reporting of outcomes against targets. 

• A good understanding of health and safety and risk assessment procedures. 

• Experience of coordinating and working with volunteers. 

• Confident use of CRM systems and supporter databases and fundraising platforms such as Just Giving. 

• Willingness to work flexible hours occasionally, for example at evenings and weekends 

Skills & Aptitudes 

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and audiences, particularly our fundraisers, donors and volunteers. 

• Strong public speaking skills and experience of presenting to supporters. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt style appropriately. 

• Exceptionable attention to detail, project management, and organisational skills.

• Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively and prioritise a varied workload. 

• Highly numerate with strong analysis skills. 

• Competent IT skills in standard Microsoft packages: Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook and supporter databases to maintain meticulous donor records and administration systems, in line with agreed protocols.

About the role

As our Fundraising Manager, you’ll be the charity’s dedicated income lead. You’ll develop and deliver a sustainable fundraising programme that reflects the compassion and community spirit at the heart of HCCN.

You’ll work closely with our Operations Manager, trustees, volunteers, employees, supporters and partners to:

·Grow income across community fundraising, events, corporate partnerships, individual giving and legacy giving

·Build strong relationships across the local community

·Represent HCCN warmly and professionally at events and activities

This role is hybrid. The successful applicant will be home based with local travel as required to support fundraising activity, with occasional evening and weekend working in the Huntingdon area.
