This Wheelchair Skills Trainer role will predominantly support the Service Delivery Managers in the effective planning and delivery of wheelchair skills training to meet the strategic objectives. You will be required to work directly with young people and their families, schools, colleagues, partner organisations and professionals, delivering accredited wheelchair skills training across South or North Wales (location dependent) or London. Full training and resources will be provided.

The person
You will be part of the Young People’s Services Team who provide a range of services and activities for young wheelchair users and their families. The postholder will take responsibility for the delivery of accredited face-to-face wheelchair skills training for young wheelchair users, as well as training for parents and other professionals involved in their development, ensuring processes and procedures relating to safety and safeguarding are followed. The role also includes liaising with schools, colleges and external organisations and ensuring volunteers are supported and empowered at services.
Key accountabilities
• Planning and delivery of wheelchair skills training and train the trainer across Wales or London.
• Liaise with Whizz Kidz Service Delivery Managers to ensure familiarity with the content and plans for each session, including information about young people’s care and medical needs, details of volunteers attending and venue information including contact names and access arrangements.
• Updating all documentation for events and participants onto the database.
• Promoting Whizz Kidz services to third party organisations in order to drive new applications/referrals.
• Ensuring feedback and monitoring data is collected at each event.
• Liaising with young people, families and schools as required.
• Attending Whizz Kidz services across the country if required in order to support the Service Delivery Managers.
• Use the risk assessment provided by Whizz Kidz to ensure confidence in briefing other staff/volunteers, continually updating each risk assessment where necessary.
• Adhere to relevant Whizz Kidz policies and procedures regarding safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality, risk management, health and safety, incident reporting and working with volunteers when facilitating events for young disabled people. Ensure that all staff and volunteers are fully briefed and working within these guidelines and policies.
• Liaise with Whizz Kidz Services Delivery Managers to ensure availability of sufficient resources and equipment for services, highlighting any discrepancies.
• Attend training days and events with Whizz Kidz staff and volunteers to continually develop relevant skills and competencies to effectively deliver Whizz Kidz’s Young People’s Services.
• Lead Volunteers throughout the day to deliver all planned activities in a safe and positive way, working in line with policies and procedures to ensure maximum participation.

In this role, you will support the operational delivery of WCRF International’s grant programmes across both pre-award and post-award activities. Role purpose
The purpose of this role is to support the National Programme Team with the implementation of operational plans that deliver successful national skills competitions. This will include supporting the activities and actions relating to the national programme cycle, projects across diversity and inclusion and transfer of global standards to maximise local and national activity in the UK.
Key tasks and responsibilities
· To contribute to the successful delivery of WorldSkills UK’s strategic priorities and annual business objectives.
· To support skills competitions that raise standards of teaching and learning and serve as a key vehicle for practitioner development across the vocational education and training sector and the workplace, including Apprenticeship/Traineeships.
· To co-ordinate activities relating to requesting, tracking and quality assuring key documents required from our Competition Organising Partners (COPs), ensuring documents are received within set deadlines.
· To co-ordinate and support the planning and event delivery of national skills competition activity across the UK, including booking travel, venues, accommodation and catering.
· To administer and co-ordinate the local and national projects i.e. Competitor Support Fund, and Evaluations.

Summary of terms and conditions

· The salary for this role is £28,000.
· WorldSkills UK offers a maximum employer’s contribution to your pension of 6% of your basic salary, on the condition that you make an employee contribution to your pension of at least 3%. You may choose to contribute a higher percentage of your salary to your pension, subject to statutory limits.

The Senior Research and Evaluation Officer will join a small consultancy team and will be managed by the charity’s Director of Research and Impact. The team is also supported by several colleagues from across the organisation who work on specific projects based on their areas of expertise. The consultancy team is part of the charity’s wider research and impact team, who collectively have two areas of responsibility: evaluating and reporting the impact of the charity’s programmes and providing research and evaluation consultancy and strategy support to education organisations.
The successful candidate will have strong research skills, including in quantitative research, and will be able to communicate technical information and findings to university access and success practitioners and educators. They will also demonstrate professional skills in relation to stakeholder management and project management and will champion the charity’s values and embody them in interactions with colleagues and partners. While this role can be based at any of our offices throughout the UK, some travel will be required (mainly to London) to attend in-person meetings.

Time & Talents is a lively, busy community centre in the heart of Rotherhithe, SE16.Set in a leafy heritage building, and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 139 years of supporting people of all ages, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and other accessible activities for all members of the community.

About you
Working within the communications and marketing team, you'll be confident in managing our social media accounts (we have many), ensuring we're using platforms to get our messages out to both wide and targeted audiences with engaging and timely content.
You'll be happy using tools for social listening, interacting with our audiences and building our reach. You'll be familiar with key metrics for social engagement and will be reporting back to colleagues and other stakeholders - and using this data to constantly improve our communications.
You'll be skilled in writing longer form content for our members' magazine, Caring, proof reading articles, posting content on our websites, creating graphics and making sure our content is engaging, audience focused and dynamic. Oh, and you probably know your way around an emoji set and are not scared of a well timed pun. We're a small but effective communications team and pride ourselves on getting stuck in and supporting each other when we need to deliver big on fast moving projects, so you'll need be able to juggle lots of demands while recognising the importance of always hitting deadlines.
