This role combines direct energy advice for residents with day-to-day team leadership. It would suit an experienced advisor who is ready to take on additional responsibility, support colleagues and help maintain high standards across Selce’s award winning energy advice services.

This is an exciting opportunity for a practical, compassionate community professional who wants to help households reduce energy costs, improve comfort at home and build resilience during a challenging time for many residents. Trusted, face-to-face advice in people’s homes is central to the role, particularly for households at risk of fuel poverty who may need impartial support to access the help available to them.

As an experienced Home Energy Advisor, you will carry out home visits across Greenwich, Lewisham, Bromley and Bexley, as well as providing advice by telephone and at community events. You will tailor practical support to each household, helping residents use energy more efficiently, reduce bills where possible, and keep their homes warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

You will be a confident communicator and empathetic listener, able to understand the specific challenges faced by vulnerable households and respond with clear, positive and practical solutions.

Alongside advice, you will help residents install simple energy-saving measures such as LED bulbs, draught excluders and radiator reflectors. You will also signpost households to wider support, including funded retrofit measures, financial and debt advice, and health and wellbeing services.

This role would suit someone who is organised, proactive and motivated by making a tangible difference to local people. You will be comfortable working independently in residents’ homes, collaborating with colleagues and partners, and contributing to a community-led organisation committed to a fairer, greener future.

Alongside your direct advice work, you will act as Team Lead and mentor for Selce’s team of energy advisors, helping colleagues feel supported, confident and equipped to deliver effective services.

As Advice Team Lead, you will help ensure our advice services are delivered to a consistently high standard. You will help coordinate, motivate and support staff to deliver quality services and achieve agreed targets and objectives.

Experience of people management is desirable, but the role may also appeal to an experienced energy advisor with strong technical knowledge who is looking to develop supervisory skills and support holistic service delivery across related advice areas.

Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential, along with a solution-focused approach and an understanding of how to motivate individuals to succeed. You will bring a positive, collaborative approach to leading a team and working with others to achieve wider organisational goals.

The Role:

· Provide clear, practical and impartial energy advice to residents, tailored to their individual circumstances, through home visits, telephone support and outreach events.

· Deliver home energy support to vulnerable residents, including low-income households, older people, disabled people and families with young children.

About South East London Community Energy

South East London Community Energy (Selce) was born in 2014, when a group of people living in Greenwich & Lewisham became so concerned about climate change that they decided to come up with a formula that would help to create a clean and just energy future. 

Throughout our first ten-years, we have set up projects that address inequality and seek to reduce our collective carbon footprint at different points in the energy systems.

To date we have built 12 solar arrays on community buildings in SE London and 11 buildings’ lighting systems to be more energy efficient.  We are opening share offers this year for further lighting system upgrades and solar arrays on community buildings. 

We’ve helped well over 4000 house holds with their energy bills and we are pleased to now be able to help homeowners make their homes more energy efficient through the Love Lofts and Future Fit Homes pilot programmes.

Almost one in ten households cannot afford to heat their homes adequately. Our award winning team of energy advisors provide practical guidance and support to households who are struggling to pay their fuel bills. They advise clients about how to reduce their fuel bills by switching suppliers or accessing discounts or changing behaviour or by fitting small practical energy-saving measures such as low energy light bulbs and draft proofing. They also support the householder to access funded home energy improvements such as loft, cavity wall insulation or heating upgrades.

Katherine Low Settlement is a busy, local charity that has been serving Battersea and the wider Wandsworth community since 1924. We are dedicated to building stronger communities and enable people to challenge and find ways out of poverty and isolation.   

We run a range of our own community services to support local older people and children, young people, and their families from refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people. 

About the Role

The Lead Youth Worker plays a key role in shaping, coordinating and delivering high-quality youth provision within the Future Foundations programme at KLS. Reporting to the Head of Future Foundations, this role combines hands-on youth work with leadership, coordination and safeguarding responsibility, ensuring that children and young people are supported through safe, inclusive and engaging activities that promote their personal, social and educational development.

You will lead on the planning, delivery and evaluation of homework clubs, youth activities, trips and holiday programmes, while line-managing and supporting two Youth Workers and supervising interns and volunteers. You will work closely with families, schools, community partners and colleagues across KLS to provide joined-up, responsive support for young people. This is a people-centred leadership role requiring strong safeguarding practice, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to build trusting relationships. Youth Club & Holiday Programme

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Chief of Staff (COS) to deputise for the CEO in maintaining oversight of global operations of this incredible charity.

You will report directly to the CEO, working closely with the senior management team (SMT) both in UK and internationally. This role's primary responsibilities will be as follows:
To work closely with the CEO and the rest of the SMT in prioritising day-to-day activities. Whilst primarily focused on internal activities, the postholder will assist the CEO with external matters, deputising for the CEO as directed.
To take a proactive role in supporting the CEO in strategy development.
To support international operations, be the office primary link between global staff and support arrangements of visits.
To lead the development of the policies and procedures with particular focus on Data Protection and Safeguarding.
To be responsible for leading organisational development to ensure the charity has the structure and staff capacity to deliver against targets.
To act as budget holder for the UK Office, to ensure the effective running of the UK Office (supported by the Office Manager) and its associated infrastructure, including delivery of staff inductions and training.
Take responsibility for IT procurement and manage all non-fundraising related office contracts.

Experience required:
-Must be a confident, dynamic and decisive senior manager, with proven leadership, administrative and (written and oral) communication skills.

The role

The donor experience & stewardship manager will report to the head of fundraising operations & strategy.

We are seeking a creative and driven donor experience manager to join our team on a permanent basis. Working alongside members of the wider team, you will lead on creating and delivering a gold-standard experience for major donors supporting the Royal Free Charity, showcasing the impact their support has across our hospital sites. Your efforts will play a key role in ensuring continued, uplifted support for the charity.

You will play an important role within our Fundraising Operations team, helping to build relationships, and increase income, in a pivotal year for the charity, after our silent phase capital campaign launch. Your role will have a varied workload, supporting both core fundraising and campaign stewardship. The team

Our dynamic fundraising department generated c.£4m through donations in 2025/26, and we are now preparing for an ambitious multi-million-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the site of the Royal Free Hospital.

We pride ourselves on being a supporter focused and agile function, working at the heart of the charity to deliver impact for patients and staff across our hospitals.

Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises three teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:

· Our philanthropy & campaigns team builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate organisations and intermediaries, giving or facilitating donations of £10,000 or more to the charity each year. They lead major appeal activity for the charity, currently focused on our cancer campaign, and special events to support these activities.

· Our public fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges.

· Our fundraising operations team provides operational support for our fundraising and the wider charity through the provision of data and systems support, prospect research, stewardship, gift processing, reporting and governance. We underpin the work of the entire department.

Project Ecologist – Species Recovery
Contract type: Fixed term, until the end of March 2029
Working hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Location: Based at our Callow Office, Shipham Gorge BS27 this role covers the Somerset Levels and will be a hybrid role working from the office, home and out in the field.

This exciting new role is a part of the Natural England Species Recovery Programme. The “Wild Again: Restoring England’s Wildlife” initiative aims to enhance threatened species populations across the UK. Somerset Wildlife Trust are excited to lead the Bolstering the Somerset Bittern (Botaurus stellaris) population project.

About Us

We champion Somerset’s stunning, diverse, and important natural environment, making the case for nature to the public and politicians. We protect wildlife and lead the recovery of the environment by example, including on our nature reserves.

About You and the Role

The Project Ecologist will be responsible for delivering habitat and bittern species surveys across the Somerset Levels and Moors project area. This will include assessing a range of reedbed and wetland mosaic types to assess suitability for bittern, as well as engaging and advising landowners on habitat enhancement.

Supported by Somerset Wildlife Trust staff, landowner engagement will involve the identification of improvement works funded by the project. The survey work will be completed with the support of a new, dedicated volunteer group led by the Species Recovery Project Ecologist.

Responsibility 1: Lead Ecological Surveys

Ensure correct data reporting by:

• Leading bittern, reedbed, and wetland mosaic habitat surveys across the project area (Somerset Levels and Moors). This work includes surveying on private land, as well as National Nature Reserves owned by SWT, RSPB, and Natural England.
• Keeping up to date with SWT data handling & reporting standards, particularly in close collaboration with Somerset Environmental Records Centre (SERC).
• Working closely with the Project Manager for the BSB project, sharing specialist species knowledge, reporting project progress, being involved in project meetings, and recording volunteer hours.

Responsibility 2: Enhance Habitat Conditions

Improve reedbed and wetland mosaic sites by:

• Identifying key sites for restoration and/or enhancement, supported by specialist habitat knowledge and SERC.
• Collaborating with SWT’s Honeygar Land Management and Monitoring Manager to engage local landowners and organisations around the Avalon Marshes area with the aim of habitat restoration and/or enhancement for bittern recovery.
• Advising landowners across the Somerset Levels project area on habitat enhancement and restoration, identifying and allocating use of project funding to support work on private land.
• Ensure best communication practices that are in line with SWT standards.

Responsibility 3: Manage Volunteers

Provide leadership and support by:

• Providing leadership and mentoring to volunteers so that they can conduct species and habitat surveys without direct supervision.
• Working with SWT’s Volunteering & Community Support Officer to ensure best practice when engaging and recruiting volunteers, including following SWT safety procedures and capturing issues raised by volunteers.
• Contributing to the recruitment & promotion of volunteers for the new bittern survey group, which involves working closely with the Project Manager and SWT Marketing & Communications team
