The King’s Trust is looking for a passionate and experienced Safeguarding Advisor to join our national Safeguarding Team on a maternity cover basis. This is a vital role where your expertise will help protect and promote the safety and well-being of young people aged 11 to 30, with a particular focus on those aged 18 to 25. Working at the heart of the organisation, you will handle safeguarding referrals, manage cases and work closely with colleagues across the Trust to ensure young people are supported at the right time and in the right way.

You will be a trusted point of contact for a designated region, offering clear, confident advice and building strong relationships with delivery teams and external agencies. Alongside case management, you will contribute to investigations, deliver safeguarding training and play an active role in shaping and improving safe practice across the Trust. This is a varied and impactful role that combines professional judgement, collaboration and a strong commitment to statutory and best practice standards.

The role

You will be responsible for the development and delivery of our Community Services; ensuring they
deliver against our strategic ambitions. Working with our Head of Home and Hospital and Head of
Information and Advice you will also ensure effective integration between service areas, and that our
people are consistently led and managed.

The post has been vacant since October, since then we’ve undertaken a review of our community team

About the Role 

This is a key support role within the Foundation, providing high-quality coordination and executive support to the Strategy, Impact and Innovation and Income directorates.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced fundraising professional to join us as Head of Fundraising. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our fundraising strategy across community, events and volunteering, trusts and grants, corporate and philanthropy by crafting ambitious regional plans, nurturing high-performing teams, and driving excellence in supporter engagement and recognition. The Head of Fundraising will work collaboratively with the Individual Giving and Engagement team to drive new business pipelining and amplify fundraising campaigns, develop new fundraising products, and represent SCAA at external events and sector initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced team leader with significant experience working across a variety of fundraising disciplines and of developing and implementing fundraising strategies.

The successful candidate can be based from home, but this role will require regular travel to our bases at Perth and Aberdeen Airports and throughout Scotland. The usual hours and days of work will be Monday to Friday, 9am—5pm.

About You

Essential

• Strong background in a variety of fundraising disciplines and a track record in growing fundraising income over multiple years within a charity, non-profit or values-led organisation.

• Experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategies aligned to organisational objectives.

• Strong understanding of data protection (GDPR), confidentiality and safeguarding requirements.

Key Responsibilities

People strategy - (Approx 40%)

• Operations strategy and ways of working: Work with the CEO and SLT, co-design and implement a robust operations strategy and clear ways of working for effective allocation of team and resources to achieve the organisation's objectives, strengthening further our  principles of deep collaboration, equity and care.

• Equitable recruitment and retention strategy: Building on our existing progress in inclusive hiring, you will work closely with the CEO and SLT to evolve and champion our recruitment and retention strategy. • Systems improvement: Enhance and adjust systems, processes, and best practices to ensure they are flexible enough to respond to the lived realities of a diverse team.

• Digital access: Lead the planning and implementation of IT and digital strategies that facilitate accessible and collaborative remote/hybrid working.

• Compliance and safety: Maintain and communicate health, safety, and security protocols through a lens of collective care and team protection.

HR & financial administration (Approx 20%)

• HR: 

  • HR Software & data ownership, maintenance and ensuring consistency in colleagues use of the software. 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for HR enquiries, accessibility requests, and leave calculation.

  • Act on behalf of the CEO in handling confidential issues with care and restorative intent & liaising with external HR advisor.

• Financial support: In partnership with our Finance Manager, coordinate confidential finance administration, including payroll, pensions, and audit preparation, ensuring all team members are supported by stable financial operations.

• Resource management: Manage IT and Operations budgets.

• Contract management: Oversee the administration of employment contracts and agreements and NDAs for freelancers, as well as internship placements to ensure fair and clear working agreements.

Executive support & governance (Approx 10% of the time)

• Leadership partnership: Support the SLT in strategic direction, planning, and workforce development so they can focus on fundraising, advocacy and high-level impact work.

• Support the CEO on internal communications, business travel, scheduling, diary management, technical assistance.

• Board: Manage all JB Board administration, including arranging quarterly meetings, minutes, etc.

• Funding & tenders: Provide necessary operational and organisational information for funding applications and manage portal processes for payments and offers.

• Office Management: Lead on the management of JB’s office, ensuring that the office is a comfortable working environment and equipment is maintained. Be the first point of contact for Somerset House, facilities, and for office related issues.

Person Specification

Essential

• HR Expertise: Six to eight years of demonstrable practical experience in designing and implementing People centred strategies with a focus on collaborative leadership rooted in inclusion, equity, diversity and care (six to eight years of experience). We’re particularly interested in someone experienced and/or genuinely interested in participatory design methods that incorporate the lived experiences of a diverse team.

• Operational excellence: Six to eight years of demonstrable practical experience of developing and implementing effective operations strategies and effective systems and processes that enable organisational excellence and staff wellbeing.

• A genuine, demonstrable commitment for the role of culture in addressing the climate, environment and justice crises, preferably with experience of working with values-led teams working on systemic issues especially working across climate, environmental and justice issues.

Job Purpose:

The post’s primary focus is to provide specialist education advice primarily by telephone and email, to parent carers with disabled children in the UK. The post holder will be working on the Contact national helpline service. Service hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5pm.

Main Duties:

Living Well Health and Wellbeing Coordinator Role:

Referrals and assessment

• Triage and co-ordinate client referrals from a range of sources, primarily health and care, in conjunction with the Living Well Manager.  These can be for the Living Well service alone, or for “Living Well Plus” where additional support is given to those clients who may require hoarding or de-cluttering support
• Communicate with referral partners to understand the trigger for referral and liaise with clients to build trust and encourage initial assessment
• Work closely with Adult Social Care, regularly hot desking at Merton Civic centre and joining GP surgery Multi-disciplinary meetings to accumulate more referrals and build professional relationships
• Actively engage in taking part in community events and meetings to promote the Living Well service and increase referrals/referral pathways
• Hold ‘guided conversations’ to assess clients’ needs and home risk, these will be conducted on telephone and through home visits

Action planning and support provision

• Create person-centred action plans to enable clients to set realistic goals to improve their overall health and wellbeing.
• Connect individuals to support services catered to their needs at both Age UK Merton and external partners
• Provide ongoing support and co-ordination for clients to ensure that action plans are progressing, including regular liaison with partners across health, care and voluntary sector to achieve successful client outcomes
• Work with partners across health, care and voluntary sectors to build strong understanding of the service offer for older adults in the London Borough of Merton.
• Receive and respond to enquiries related to the programme by phone, in person and by e-mail
• Work closely within Community Support Service, carrying out joint home visits with appropriate staff to ensure better outcomes for clients as well as ensure streamlined/triaged support.

General

• Record information on the CRM database, Charity Log, including service monitoring data and provide accurate and timely monitoring reports as required for funders
• Engage in exporting personal monthly KPIs as required by the Living Well Manager
• Cover the Community Navigator Role when needed with the Community Support service team on a rota basis
• Create two Case Studies quarterly, reflecting on successful outcomes for clients
• Carry out reviews with clients to capture the client’s journey from assessment to closing the case; showcasing how the client has improved their health and wellbeing outcomes
• Understand the process for raising safeguarding concerns and the route of accountability
• Comply at all times with the policies and procedures of Age UK Merton 
• Ensure that Age UK Merton’s Equal Opportunities policies, principles and practices are observed and implemented throughout service delivery
• Attend staff meetings, personal supervision and appraisal meetings
• Be aware of own training needs and participate in training/education to improve performance considered relevant to the post and to achieve agreed targets
