What You’ll Be Doing:

The Community Fundraising Executive works closely with the National Community Fundraising Manager to deliver short and mid-term strategic plans and priorities for the function. The role is responsible for growing community awareness of the charity and driving fundraising activity across the region to meet income targets by proactively seeking out creating new opportunities and relationships. The key areas of activity the role is responsible for include generating and building relationships with community groups, organisations, volunteers and supporters, identifying new opportunities and leads within the region that will generate new income streams for the charity, and presenting to local organisations and groups within the region.

Job Overall goal: Support the creation and delivery of a range of content and the planning and coordination of UK and global events, ensuring both align with the charity’s objectives, including activities designed for a global audience.

Job Location: Remote working with the ability for weekly on-site meetings at offices based in Milton Keynes (MK19).

 Job summary

We are seeking a highly organised graduate to support the Brand Campaigns & Events Specialist. This role involves assisting with the development and implementation of content, supporting the setup, delivery, and evaluation of events, contributing to the creation of training and curriculum materials for online and print, and working with UK and international teams to contextualise and translate materials for diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities: 

Communication & Content Delivery 

• Assist in the creation of event materials, including invitations, training guides, digital resources, workbooks, email    campaigns, websites, scripts, animations, and related content.
• Support the development of visual and multimedia content for in-person and online delivery, ensuring materials are appropriate for the intended audience.
• Assist in repurposing content into multiple formats to support wider reach and usability.
• Support the preparation and distribution of monthly email and prayer updates communicating ministry developments.
• Assist with proofreading, formatting, and editing event content, including workbooks, guides, and presentations.
• Support the development and maintenance of an online training portal for specific programmes, ensuring it is user-friendly, engaging, and aligned with programme goals. 
• Provide administrative and practical support to event personnel in global locations as they deliver our programmes.
• Follow established brand guidelines to maintain consistency in tone, messaging, and visual identity across all content.

 Event Planning, Management and Support 

• Assist with organising event plans and timelines for global events and updating the event content calendar.
• Assisting with projects supporting programs and charity operations.
• Assist in planning, coordinating and delivering event logistics, including liaising with vendors, venues, and service providers to support quality and cost-effective delivery.
• Provide on-site support during events, including set-up, content delivery and liaising with AV and logistics teams to ensure the successful presentation of materials. 
• Assist with the management of delegate booking systems and deliver prompt and professional support to attendees and stakeholders via phone and email. Provide delegate care during events. 
• Support campaign and project planning by assisting with the drafting or tracking of content-related budgets and timelines for approval.
• Support the planning and delivery of special elements such as consultancy clinics.
• Maintain and regularly update relevant databases to ensure data integrity.
• Assist in monitoring and tracking content production costs, ensuring value-for-money.

Cultural Adaptation & Coordination 

• Assist with the localisation of content to ensure materials are culturally appropriate, supporting communication with translators and stakeholders to help adapt resources for different cultural contexts.

Evaluation & Reporting 

• Assist in tracking the performance of content and programmes through data collection, feedback, and engagement analytics to support evaluation of effectiveness.
• Support the preparation of content and campaign reports, including metrics and evidence required for grant applications, donor updates, and internal reviews.

General & Organisational  

• Actively contribute to team meetings, planning sessions, and creative brainstorming. 
• Occasional evening and weekend work and travel may be required for event support.  
• Any other duties as required. 

Occupational Requirement

Qualifications:

We’re looking for a fluent Welsh-speaking Communications, PR & Marketing Lead who can turn strategy into compelling public storytelling and measurable borrowing growth. Level Water exists to solve a problem that shouldn’t exist: too many disabled children are still missing out on high-quality swimming lessons. 

Last year, our swimmers raised over £1m. This year we’ve sold out events in minutes and want to double the fundraising. We’re on the path to exponential growth and we need someone who can help us get there.

We're Level Water, a founder-led charity solving learn-to-swim for disabled children. We're not your typical charity. We own our events and run them like a business. We move fast, test everything, and we're building something that doesn't exist anywhere else. Our events are uniquely profitable, and we reinvest in quality and growth. 

We've just brought in a new Fundraising Director, and this Marketing role is a cornerstone of the team we're building. If you want to help define how a modern charity grows and does marketing, this is your chance.

What you'll actually do

This role owns marketing as a growth engine. You'll set strategy, drive execution across multiple channels, and be accountable for how marketing translates into event sign-ups, fundraising growth, profile, and impact. You'll work closely with the Fundraising Director to shape priorities, influence decisions, and build something that scales.

Drive growth marketing that converts

• Own end-to-end marketing for our events portfolio: from launch campaigns to sell-out.

• Build and execute multi-channel campaigns across social, email, paid ads, PR, partnerships, and whatever else works.

• Test everything. Audiences, messages, creative, channels. Find what works, double down, and scale it.

• Use data to spot opportunities: which channels are converting? Where are we leaving growth on the table? What could we do differently?

• Manage our digital advertising and paid social strategy with a ruthless focus on ROI.

• Grow our email database and social audiences with intent, not just for vanity metrics.

• Be trusted to repeatedly turn £1 into £5 or £10. 

• Define and unleash our audiences: help them share their stories in a way that turns experiences into future sales, and makes everything that Level Water does easier.

• Build and manage our captain and ambassador programmes as genuine growth engines - nurturing relationships, setting expectations, and turning influence into measurable impact.

• Proactively convert interest into action. This includes direct outreach (e.g. picking up the phone to captains, engaging top fundraisers, activating ambassadors) to ensure intent turns into ticket sales and fundraising.

Tell stories that build belief

• Find, shape, and share the stories that show our impact: the children, the families, the teachers, the moments that matter.

• Build and curate a library of content (video, photography, case studies, testimonials) that we can use everywhere.

• Work with freelance photographers and videographers to capture our events and programmes at their best.

• Create content that our supporters, partners, and prospects actually want to engage with, not just content that ticks a box.

• Manage our website (fundraising, events, and programmes pages) to ensure it's always up to date, compelling, and optimised for conversion.

• Ensure our impact reporting to donors is rich with content about our work.

• Use storytelling internally to build shared understanding, momentum and belief across the charity as we scale.

Build our profile and partnerships

• Position Level Water as a leader in accessible swimming and outdoor challenge events.

• Build and leverage relationships with press, influencers, local authorities, and stakeholders.

• Identify partnership and sponsorship opportunities that align with our mission and drive growth.

• Amplify examples of inclusion within our pools, making them known and also making inclusive practice visible.

• Promote our swimming pool partners and recognise their contribution to our work.

Manage, measure, and improve

• Own the marketing budget and get maximum value from every pound spent.

• Manage our freelance network: scope projects, review proposals, and ensure quality work on time and on budget.

• Report regularly on what's working and what's not: campaign performance, audience growth, conversion rates, ROI.

• Stay ahead of the curve: what are the best organisations doing? What can we learn and adapt?

About the role

We are looking for an experienced communications professional to drive and deliver our global communications strategy and maintain momentum across our target regions during a period of parental leave. This is an exciting role for someone who is passionate about improving global health and climate outcomes, enjoys activating a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve communications objectives and can support and motivate colleagues to deliver impactful work across different time zones.

Selection criteria

Essential:

• Experience designing and implementing successful communications strategies  that support the delivery of positive social, corporate or political change. We imagine the ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience, but we are open to consider candidates with less experience who possess the required skills. 

• A high level of strategic thinking and an understanding of how to leverage different campaigning approaches to achieve objectives, including community organising and knowledge brokering

• The ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling and nuanced messaging 

• A proven track record of crafting and landing compelling stories in high-impact media that advance campaign objectives

• Existing relationships with journalists in at least one relevant media area, such as news, health, sustainability or food

• Experience managing communications teams in a collaborative and effective way, and a willingness to support colleagues from other teams to develop relevant skills

• A general understanding of building decarbonisation and the energy transition

• Fluency in English

Key responsibilities 

Strategy

• Deliver the existing global communications strategy, adapting where necessary in line with organisational priorities during the cover period, and develop associated implementation plans 

• Participate in broader campaign and organisational strategy development, contributing perspectives on the role of communications 

Media

• Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts

• Select, brief and liaise with media spokespeople 

• Develop key media messaging and oversee the development of pitch content 

• Lead on media liaison for both reactive and proactive opportunities

Knowledge brokering

• Coordinate the development and promotion of knowledge products, including case studies, research reports and toolkits

Management

Coordination

Reporting

• Oversee the global communications budget forecasting 

• Contribute to internal and external reporting of the GCC’s communications activities

This is a key frontline role within a driven and collaborative Fundraising and Communications team. You will play an essential part in delivering excellent supporter care, managing fundraising systems and strengthening engagement across the charity’s growing supporter base.

Working closely with the Supporter Engagement and Fundraising Manager, you will help deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy, ensuring supporters receive a positive, consistent and engaging experience at every touchpoint.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as the first point of contact for supporter enquiries via phone, email and post
• Managing the fundraising inbox and responding to requests from individuals and organisations
• Processing and recording donations accurately, including Gift Aid compliance
• Supporting personalised acknowledgement and stewardship of donors
• Maintaining and updating the CRM system, including The Raiser’s Edge
• Producing reports and supporting fundraising appeals through data segmentation and analysis
• Supporting individual fundraisers and challenge events participants
• Assisting with fundraising campaigns, appeals and donor events
• Contributing to the production of fundraising and marketing materials
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems and automate processes

You will also support the wider day to day operations of the Fundraising and Communications function, ensuring efficiency and sustainability.

We are seeking a full-time Project Manager to support delivery of our new programme, Reading Reboot, funded by the Charlotte Aitken Trust, and to support the SLA to grow its reach and impact. Reading Reboot is being developed to address the reading crisis and restore a love of reading for young people in Year 8, in communities facing the greatest disadvantage. This is an opportunity to lead a flagship national programme with the potential to shape future investment in school libraries, in a supportive, mission-driven team culture within a small but influential charity. 

The Reading Reboot programme will establish librarian-led social book clubs in over 100 under-funded secondary school libraries across the UK and reach more than 6,000 young people directly, alongside librarians, senior leaders and wider school communities. Reading Reboot places school librarians at the heart of delivery, combining new book stock, inspiring author engagement, appealing library spaces, and a robust evaluation to evidence impact and inform future national roll-out.   

The Project Manager will lead on development and delivery, working closely with the CEO, a Project Board and external evaluation team to ensure the programme meets its objectives on time, within budget and to a high quality. They will recruit and coordinate schools and librarians, work with partners and funders, and ensure that learning and impact are captured and shared across the sector. Building strong relationships with all stakeholders, the Project Manager will be the main point of contact for the programme and will support the CEO and Project Board with timely updates, papers and participation in meetings. Successful candidates will have extensive and demonstrable experience of project management in schools or youth settings. Experience of training development and delivery will be an advantage.
