This role will primarily sit within our Capacity Building and Standards (CB&S) function but will work closely with our Innovation and Practice (I&P) and Advocacy and Communications (A&C) functions. 

The CB&S function aims to build capacity both inside and outside of public institutions to embed the processes, skills, structures and cultures needed for effective public participation in decision-making. The I&P function is responsible for the deliberative, dialogic and participatory projects and processes that we run. The A&C function aims to build political and public understanding of and support for making participation and deliberation an everyday, integral part of our democracy. 

This role will have a thematic focus on public engagement in decision-making within the science, technology and data sectors. Candidates do not need an educational or work background in this sector, although it would be useful, but we would expect the successful candidate to take a keen interest in these topics. 

Involve achieves its impacts by growing expertise in sector-specific areas where public engagement is important. Science and tech represent policy areas where citizen engagement on both principles and practice is vital and where public engagement can also open the door to broader deliberative democratic interventions and feedback loops. Technological advancement, including AI, presents risks and opportunities and will be an ongoing priority for government with five critical technologies likely to be central to UK policy for at least the next Government.

Involve has a significant pedigree and is well networked in the area of public engagement in science. Over the last 20 years we have been thought leaders in this space, in particular running the government’s science and tech engagement programme, Sciencewise. The Autism Centre of Excellence at Cambridge (ACE) is committed to creating 10,000 new jobs for autistic people in the next ten years and are currently seeking a lead for this work. Main duties and Responsibilities

• Implement the plan as has been specified and agreed by our Board.

About Us

The Autism Centre of Excellence at Cambridge (ACE) exists to make a big difference; by funding and commissioning world-leading research, delivering projects which directly impact the lives of autistic people, and campaigning to achieve change..

As a Youth Tech Abuse Lead you will provide specialist support to Refuge’s children support workers and frontline staff to ensure children, young people, and protective parents are using technology safely and positively in our refuges. You will increase understanding and awareness of your colleagues on tech-facilitated abuse and how to identify and respond to risks.  Approximately 40% of the role focuses on working directly with children and young people and their parents in empowerment workshops, and 60% of the role will focus on capacity building and training frontline staff.

You will work closely Senior Programme Manager – Children and Young People, deputising for them in ensuring the voices of children and young are central to the development of services and Refuge’s systemic change initiatives.

The role does require a particular focus on supporting survivors of tech-facilitated abuse under the age of 18, this would require developing and delivering tech-facilitated abuse and online safety workshops to children, young people, and protective parents in refuges across London.

An opportunity has arisen for a lead Support worker to work within our Sanctuary crisis intervention and prevention service, based in Fore Street in Enfield. We act as a short-term A&E and Emergency services alternative, providing support to individuals in the Enfield Borough aged 18+. 

This role is to provide leadership and support to the Sanctuary team on shift. The role will:

• Lead shifts during the week, providing support to team members via case management support, escalation, Health and Safety guidance
• Support the Sanctuary Manager to embed processes within the service, and ensure that these are carried out
• Work alongside the Manager and team to ensure that the service is operating to high quality standard.
• Provide support in times of emotional distress for clients. The support worker will provide a calm, supportive presence.

 The role will support clients through co-producing support plans with practical and therapeutic support offerings, as well as contributing to the development of a warm welcoming environment and ‘safe space’ to be.

This position would suit someone with a minimum of 2 years experience of working with people with mild, moderate and severe mental health issues.

The Role:

The Partner Engagement Lead is responsible for key account management, and specifically developing and supporting relationships with programme sponsors and partners within the WorldGBC network.

The Partner Engagement Lead will work closely alongside the programme/projects team subject leads, taking responsibility for day to day management of activities that relate to sponsors or stakeholders, including partner relationships, external collaborations and fundraising.

Working cross-functionally within a matrix-style organisation, the Lead will work collaboratively on the engagement pillar of WorldGBC's fundraising team alongside the Partnerships Manager and the Strategic Partnerships Lead. This team coordinates closely with all WorldGBC departments, in particular where sponsors are involved with initial focus on the programme/project partners.

Well-organised and a great communicator, this individual will ensure that key relationships are managed effectively across the organisation, and be detail oriented in their reporting and accounting of opportunities. The Lead should also be willing to represent the organisation in relevant external opportunities relating to the programmes as need arises - including fundraising meetings, external working groups, events or conferences.

The Partner Engagement Lead will report to the Director of Programmes Strategy.

Main Areas of Responsibility

In the first instance, this will be achieved through joint project management and rollout of a new Federation wide SharePoint eco system. This is an exciting time to deliver a new ecosystem that will lay the foundation for future enhancement and uses of technology across all aspects of the Federation (Educational and Corporate).

You will then begin to identify the best uses of digital technology to promote learning, by engaging with latest research and by working across our academies in consultation with teachers and Principals. Your work will involve the development of a Federation-wide Digital Learning strategy, building coalitions to implement and test this and then to disseminate the work. The role
The goal of the Data Lead’s work is to set up data systems that help drive the organisations internal and their external partners’ success. The key areas include:

(1) to establish and manage an internal monitoring framework that tracks whether they are progressing towards their target – and helps them course correct if not on track;

(2) to provide strategic advice to their governmental partners on their data management and visualisation needs, which are key to advancing their human development agendas; and

Experience
To be successful in this role you will need extensive experience with integrated monitoring frameworks and the use of data to drive government decision-making. 

You will have familiarity with relevant sub-fields, such as labour market information systems; health data systems; or education data systems and be able to demonstrate familiarity with and/or experience working in sub-Saharan Africa.

The role is working externally at the highest levels so will require someone with first class interpersonal and presentations skills, the ability to navigate complex environments and a willingness to understand partners’ contexts and political constraints. You will need to fully supports the ambition of policy champions at national level without prescribing external agendas, have a passion for using evidence to drive better decision making and the ability to maintain focus on the big picture, even when discussing technical questions.

Substantive knowledge in a field related to international development or human capital development appreciated and fluency in French and/or widely spoken African languages is desirable. We're open to sector experience but are particularly interested to hear from you if you are bring experience from the Government or Finance sectors.

Your role will be to deliver excellent communication and presentation skills with a persuasive style, both written and verbal. You will be a part of a team providing a meaningful, collaborative and sustained relationships with funders and prospective donors which grow to create new opportunities to positively impact young people.

You will have a wide-ranging ability to research and understand complex information and issues from difference perspectives and succinctly articulate these to inspire funding.

By listening to funders and sharing your findings with the Fundraising team, you will support Centre 33 to embed and develop a more meaningful impact in line with the organisations strategic plan.

You will be based in one of our hubs across Cambridgeshire, but will have willingness to travel locally and occasionally further afield to meet funders. Given the rural nature of Cambridgeshire, the successful candidate would benefit from having a driving licence and access to their own car.

Bonny Downs Community Association has been working together to change lives and transform our community since 1998. Over the past 25 years our team has grown to provide a wide array of services that benefit Newham residents from all walks of life. 

This role is specifically funded through the Youth Endowment fund as a pilot project ‘Thriving Communities’. You will be required to work alongside Thriving Communities commissioners, as well as the project’s Youth Justice Worker’s, Educational Psychologist, and/or professionals assigned to individual young people’s cases- such as teachers, social workers and mentors. The Thriving Communities project is a small part of a wider collaborative project, EMPOWER YOUTH, delivered by two partner charities so, although this position is based at BDCA, you will be working closely with a second East Ham Youth Partnership Project lead and team of Sessional Assistants based at nearby charity The Renewal Programme (TRP). Staff from each organisation will work together to deliver the programme and cross-refer young people to activities led by both teams. You will also be required to work with BDCA’s own Children & Families team during the summer scheme and liaise with our marketing team all year round. External partner agencies that you will work directly with include Thriving Communities panel, Newham Youth Empowerment Service, Newham Community Engagement Team, local sports clubs and schools.

Rape Crisis England & Wales works in partnership with three of our member centres to deliver the 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line. We lead on the digital infrastructure of the service, including the management of a Cloud Contact Centre and various internal systems used by Support Line operators and managers. The focus of this role is to manage and continually improve these digital products, working across the partnership to ensure that products meet the needs of the people that use them.
