We’re looking for an experienced trainer to lead on the implementation and delivery of the Learning and Development framework issued by the House of Bishops.

• Be responsible for the organisation, implementation and delivery of the national safeguarding learning and development framework  
• Provide high quality face to face and online training to office holders (Clergy, Readers, those with Permission to Officiate), employees and volunteers in the Diocese of Coventry.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the national training and adapt materials as appropriate for the diocese.
• Network and liaise with safeguarding trainers from other dioceses and be part of the regional and national training network to share knowledge and best practice.
• Assist in supporting a small team of volunteer trainers capable of delivering training within the Diocese of Coventry.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of national and local safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Be responsible for safeguarding training administration
• In conjunction with the DSA, undertake continual evaluation, review and monitoring of the learning and development framework and other training materials so that they are kept up-to-date with new legislation, guidelines and best practice in safeguarding.
• Be responsible for safeguarding training information on different platforms
• In liaison with the DSA/ADSA, respond to and act upon requests for advice, information and guidance from individuals in the church who are concerned about the welfare of a child or adult at risk of harm.
• To undertake any other activity within the scope of the safeguarding team’s work, and the role-holder’s skills and experience, as reasonably requested by the DSA.

The post holder is an employee of the Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF) and is line managed by the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor.

Other key relationships include the Diocesan Safeguarding team, Parish Safeguarding Officers, Clergy and Readers.

An enhanced DBS check will be required.

Ace of Clubs – Post of Director

Post Summary

The Ace of Clubs is a Day Centre for Homeless and Vulnerable people that has operated for 30 years in Clapham, south London. It is under the Trusteeship of the Redemptorists of the London Province; a Roman Catholic Religious Congregation of priests and brothers and it is staffed and managed by a staff of lay professionals. It is a Registered Charity.

The Director leads a core staff of dedicated professionals who with the assistance of volunteers; manage the day-to-day operation of the Ace of Clubs; ensuring the efficient delivery of its range of services to its clients.

The Ace of Clubs charity has grown over the past thirty years expanding its range of support services with the help of partners:  Glassdoor (who provide housing and services advice), START Homeless Outreach Team who support people experiencing Homelessness & Rough Sleeping and the NHS who hold clinics at Ace of Clubs centre, both dental and medical with nurses visiting on a weekly basis.

The principal responsibilities of the Director:  to provide overall leadership within the organisation, the management of the core staff, regular reviews of performance both for AoC, the core staff and partners; developing a strategic plan with regular reviews.  S/he will exercise oversight of the AoC’s finances.  

The Director will also work closely with the chair of the AoC Trustees Management Committee to whom s/he will report regularly.

The key to the sustaining of the Charity’s core services is Fundraising. The Director will lead on Fundraising: identifying and meeting with appropriate funders; preparing the bids as per the required specifications; drafting monitoring reports and ‘keeping funders warm!’

Key Objectives and Responsibilities

Line Management

· Overall leadership and management of the charity staff team, working directly with staff, volunteers and centre users.

· Line management of the Centre Manager on a regular basis; conducting appraisals and agreeing ‘targets’ going forward.

· Line management of the Ace Charity shop manager; weekly meetings; conducting appraisals and agreeing ‘targets’ going forward

· Manage all staff team development, including recruitment, appointment, training, performance management at the centre, during projects and in the shop.

Budgetary Management

· In close collaboration with the Treasurer to manage the day-to-day finances of the Charity. To develop and manage the charity’s future financial strategy of the charity, including setting the annual budget and forecasts, reporting on the financial performance of the charity in conjunction with working in collaboration with the Treasurer and regularly reporting to the board of Trustees.

Review, Monitoring and Evaluation

· To undertake regular reviews of the Charity’s policies, procedures, practices, and documentation, to update and develop, ensuring all H&S and Safeguarding protocols reflect current best practice.

Knowledge, Skills and Certification Required

· Established Managerial experience of managing projects for homeless and vulnerable people, showing a strong knowledge of the homeless sector, how it works, and what the issues are facing homeless people and the charity’s wishing to support them (London based experience preferable).

· Successful long-term experience working with, helping, and relating well to homeless and vulnerable people, understanding the issues they face whilst also at times needing to be able to draw boundaries for people, including, at times, having to exclude people from services for periods of time, as appropriate.

· Demonstrable experience in strategic planning showing an ability to maintain existing donor relationships whilst developing new sources of income and diversifying a funder base, including making bid applications for funding and managing and/or completing all relevant monitoring reporting.

· Up to date knowledge of current best practice and experience in the implementation of all matters of Health and Safety, and Safeguarding and so forth, which shows an ability to manage these things in a way that keeps projects up to date and progressing with such standards.

· Experience in management tasks such as recruitment, staff management and appraisal, team building, chairing meetings, writing and collecting reports, monitoring, drawing up meeting minutes, action plans, good prioritising of work, adaptability of approach and so forth.

Events Officer

About the role

The Events Officer plays a key role in our highly effective communications team, leading on the delivery of an impactful programme of events – both online and in person. The role works with teams from across the organisation to plan, deliver and promote all types of events, including workshops, roundtables, conferences, webinars, receptions and other types of online and in person events.

Events are an important way for Ageing Better to influence priority audiences, including businesses and local and national government, and the postholder will advise teams on how events can best reach these audiences, encourage engagement and lead to lasting relationships.

This role sits within the Communications team, and the postholder will be responsible for drafting comms content, such as blogs and social media posts, particularly in relation to event promotion.

About you

You are highly organised, with excellent prioritisation and project management skills, enabling you to juggle multiple projects simultaneously. You have good attention to detail and enjoy planning, solving logistical problems and delivering events to a tight budget.

You are a good communicator and are comfortable working in close partnership with colleagues and dealing with a wide range of people.

You will have experience of organising events, including technical experience of managing online events and streaming.

Rose Voucher Project Officer, Southwark Rose Vouchers for Fruit and Veg Project

The Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg Project in Southwark has been successfully supporting families with young children to ensure fruit and vegetables are a part of their everyday diet since 2018. As Rose Voucher Project Officer, you will be working alongside the Southwark Rose Voucher Project Lead to forward the development of the Rose Voucher Project in Southwark. Your key areas of responsibility will be registering new families onto the Rose Voucher Project, overseeing the two Rose Voucher distribution sessions which take place at both our centres, supported by our dedicated Rose Voucher volunteers, and coordinating and supporting the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the Project. You will also provide support to our network of other Rose Voucher distribution centres in Southwark to ensure they are working in a coordinated way and according to agreed processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Strategy and Operations

1. Develop, implement, and lead execution of the charity's annual operational plan and 3-year strategic plan.

2. Identify appropriate level of staffing, volunteering, ensuring that all staff and volunteers are appropriately interviewed, vetted, inducted, trained, developed, and supported to deliver against their objectives.

3. Ensure appropriate upkeep, security, and management of the charity’s premises, including all relevant contracts and payments.

People

5. Line management of seven staff members, and responsibility for staff and team development, cohesion and appraisals.

Finance and Fundraising

10. Develop, implement, and lead charity’s financial and fundraising planning and management, ensuring that the charity operates at least at break-even, ideally with a small surplus.

11. Ensure that the charity has a diverse range of income across various streams, inclusive of (but not limited to) public sector, trusts and foundations, corporate income, events, and online giving.

12. Ensure that the charity is receiving value for money with all expenditure, ensuring contract review on a timely basis as appropriate.

13. Ensure appropriate cashflow projections so that expenditure does not exceed income in any one year unless pre-agreed with trustees.

Communications and Impact

21. Represent and promote the charity in public, sourcing media opportunities as appropriate so to increase visibility.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential requirements

Salary:

·Develop and implement an income generation strategy that ensures the organisation’s sustainability and enables its sustainable growth.

·Work in partnership with the Head of Operations to develop and implement the organisational structures needed for effective delivery of CARA’s objectives and sustainable growth.

Representation

• To act as lead representative for CARA in the Synergy Essex Rape Crisis Partnership, developing strong working relationships with the other partners and negotiating CARA’s role, responsibilities and the financial allocations it receives from the partnership. 
• To keep up-to-date with current developments affecting victims and survivors of sexual violence and ensure that CARA responds appropriately to these developments.
• To be the chief spokeswoman for CARA, responding to media and other enquiries as appropriate and playing a pro-active role in bringing relevant issues to the attention of the public, issuing press releases and initiating debate, as appropriate.
• Build, support and oversee strong relationships with individuals and organisations across the voluntary, public and private sectors, and in local and national government.
• To contribute to Rape Crisis England and Wales campaigns and other campaigns, as appropriate.
• To remain informed of national and regional Rape Crisis perspectives, drawing on Rape Crisis England and Wales expertise and resources as appropriate.

About Synergy Essex

CARA is part of Synergy Essex – the Essex Rape and Sexual Abuse Partnership. We work with SERICC Rape and Sexual Abuse Specialist Service and Southend-on-Sea Rape Crisis (SOS Rape Crisis) to deliver the contract for the Office for the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) for Essex for services for victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse across Essex, Southend and Thurrock. Synergy Essex also shares a number of other projects, funded by the Ministry of Justice, Essex County Council and the National Lottery Community Fund.

Our current PFCC contract ends in March 2025.  Synergy Essex intends to submit a bid for the new contract, which is expected to be put out to tender in the summer of 2024.

Role Summary

This position provides key support for the policy and research functions of the charity, in addition to collaborating on campaigns and public affairs work. You will be responsible for carrying out primary research relevant to the charity’s policy and research functions. You’ll be monitoring and collating new policy and research materials and contributing to public communications including report-writing, blog posts and social media activity. You’ll be providing input into strategic planning regarding policy and research activities. You’ll connect with researchers and policy people from other charities and from universities. Finally, you’ll be attending conferences and meetings on behalf of the charity.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Policy

• Support the P&RM, DR&PA and CEO in responding to public consultations, advising policymakers and working with national policy and research bodies as appropriate.

• Represent the charity in meetings with policy partners where appropriate.

• Attend policy and research conferences on behalf of the charity, providing feedback to the team on key learning and opportunities that arise.

• Work with the SC&PA and DR&PA to draw up influencing strategies to target key stakeholders on policy priorities.

Research

• Work with the P&RM to carry out research activities relevant to the policy and research functions of the charity; including collating and analysing data, and co-authoring reports for both internal and public purposes.

The NCD Alliance (NCDA) is a global civil society alliance of 400+ civil society members across 80 countries dedicated to supporting a world free from preventable suffering, disability and death caused by noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). Over 14 years, NCDA has built a reputation as a leading global advocacy organisation on NCDs, a global thought leader on NCD policy and practice, a convener and mobiliser of the NCD civil society movement, a partner to governments and the World Health Organization and other United Nations agencies, and an advocate for meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs.

Job description 

The Capacity Development unit seeks a Capacity Development Officer to support the implementation of the Our Views, Our Voices initiative, specifically the emerging capacity development work on equity. The Our Views, Our Voices initiative is a flagship initiative of the NCDA and people living with NCDs dedicated to promoting the meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs in the NCD response, supporting and enabling individuals to share their views to take action and drive change. It seeks to break down stigma and discrimination, equipping people living with NCDs with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to be change agents at local and global levels. 

Designing equitable solutions for NCDs requires reaching those left furthest behind, adopting rights-based approaches, and applying principles of meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs to redress power imbalances. Putting people and communities at the centre allows to identify how different drivers and lived experiences interact and to identify solutions to the barriers faced in accessing care across the continuum and in achieving equity. 

NCDA recently published an NCD Equity Framework to provide community advocates with an introduction to what health equity means in the context of NCDs and adding an equity lens to advocacy on NCDs. It identifies eight priority areas for advancing health equity for NCDs addressing common barriers to equity. To accompany the Framework NCDA has produced a Practical Guide. To support civil society and community advocates operationalize a health equity lens for NCD advocacy, NCDA has developed an accompanying Practical Guide for NCD Community Advocates. This guides advocates to develop an NCD Equity Report using an NCD Health Equity Assessment Tool to establish a foundation for advocacy efforts in this area. 

The Capacity Development Officer will support the roll-out of the equity work with national alliances via a new grant to support national alliances conduct an NCD equity assessment, produce an NCD equity report and add an equity lens to advocacy efforts in-country to support more equitable NCD responses and ensure the most vulnerable populations are reached. The role will strengthen capacity of national alliances by supporting the delivery of training on equity and broader Our Views, Our Voices training. The role will also provide support to global advocacy and accountability efforts ensuring close linkages with national level work on the theme of equity. 

The Capacity Development Officer will work with people living with NCDs, Our Views, Our Voices advocates, national and regional alliances, the Capacity Development unit, colleagues in the policy, advocacy, accountability and communications units, and other stakeholders for the fulfilment of its responsibilities. The ideal candidate will bring an understanding and experience of advocacy, global health and equity, communications, grant administration and overall programme management.

NCDA seeks applicants with suitable experience and background for a full-time role as Capacity Development Officer. This position reports to the UK-based Capacity Development Manager. This position is possible thanks to NCD Alliance’s partnerships with Bristol Myers Squibb and with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and is subject to yearly renewal. The role is based in London, UK, and is open to UK citizens and other applicants who already possess a valid work authorisation. The Capacity Development Officer would be mainly home-based/remote with the expectation to work from the London office 1 day a week.

Support the Capacity Development unit in grant administration duties, including grantee communications, grant awards and compliance, grantee reporting and monitoring and evaluation.

We are looking to recruit a bilingual, French and English speaking, Grants Officer to join our dynamic team of dedicated sexual and reproductive health and rights specialists. The Grants Officer provides support to the Grants Support Team and Grants Operations Manager across a portfolio of grants, ensuring grants move efficiently and in a timely manner through the grant management cycle. The Grants Officer will be trained to become an advanced user of our online Grants Management System Fluxx and will guide and support users who are less conversant with the system. The Grants Officers also support operational management of the fund with the development and maintenance of efficient operating and reporting procedures. 

AmplifyChange is a bi-lingual fund. Due to the current team composition, fluency in French is required, as the postholder will support our Francophone grantees, who are based across West-Africa and occasionally the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The role is a Bath-based position and will work closely with team members in the UK and overseas, including our Grants Support Team, our Finance Team and our Fiduciary Risk Team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Using our online Grants Management System Fluxx, oversee a portfolio of grants through a grant implementation process from grant set up through to grant closure, ensuring compliance with internal procedures
• Act as the operational focal person for grantees and provide support throughout the grant cycle on contractual, operational and reporting matters, drawing on and coordinating expertise from the Grants Managers and Fiduciary Risk Team (FRT)
• Provide support in the preparation and implementation of new grant calls, and support the selection and Due Diligence process when necessary, responding to all applicants whether successful or unsuccessful
• Regularly monitor the completion of pre-contracting conditions by grantees, and obtain appropriate sign-off internally

REPORTING AND ORGANISATION

This is a UK based, full time (37.5 hours/week) permanent position, reporting to the Grants Operations Manager. AmplifyChange is based in Bath, and we operate on a hybrid working model.
