The role of CEO at Emerge is full of opportunity and potential. It is varied and at times complex, requiring a person of integrity, person centred leadership skills and responsibility.

As a Christian organisation (as stated in our registered charity objectives) we require our CEO to have a Christian faith whose theology is worked out in their day-to-day life – professionally and personally. They must be a leader of integrity and compassion for young people, team members and the communities we serve and be committed to learning and growing personally so they are well placed to enable the same for others.

We recognise that not every candidate interested in this role will have the full breadth of experience, knowledge and skills we outline in the job description and person specification on the following pages. We are therefore interested in hearing from people who feel they meet most of the criteria and clearly share our faith, values and vision strongly enough to lead the organisation.

The majority of the role fits within a standard working day, but it will involve some evening working, and occasional weekend work recognised through an informal time in lieu process. There is some scope to work at home occasionally but youth work and leading a youth work charity mainly requires your regular presence in our offices and venues.

Help shape national debates on justice and champion the voice of magistrates.

We’re looking for a Policy and Research Officer to join the Magistrates’ Association and turn evidence into influence.

The MA is the only independent membership body for magistrates in England and Wales. With around 12,000 members, we speak truth to power, support our members, and advocate for a fairer and more effective justice system.

Responsibilities

Executive Assistant to the CEO

• Manage the CEO’s diary, travel arrangements, and general administration (supporting the wider team where needed).

• Manage the CEO’s inbox and LinkedIn messages: triage, prioritise, and draft responses on their behalf where appropriate.

• Support the CEO in engaging with key stakeholders, including funders, trustees, and partners.

• Prepare communications on behalf of the CEO, including blog posts, social media content, and internal updates.

For over five decades, the Renewal Programme has been a trusted cornerstone of the community in the London Borough of Newham, tackling the root causes and consequences of poverty, isolation, and disadvantage.

Role overview

This role is central to our mission to support sustainable living, reduce food waste, tackle local food insecurity, and foster meaningful community connections. As a key part of delivering the vision set out in our National Lottery-funded RenewALL Hub proposal, you will ensure our food provision goes beyond meeting immediate needs to build inclusion, wellbeing, and pathways into wider community support.

Your primary responsibility will be to secure regular donations of surplus food by developing and maintaining strong partnerships with local supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and national redistribution organisations like the Newham Food Alliance, Felix Project, and Feeding Britain.

You will manage the effective use of this food across our services, including the foodbank, food pantry, warm meals programme, and cooking classes. This will involve careful stock management, menu planning, and coordinating with lead staff to ensure our food provision meets Newham’s environmental, health, and cultural needs. A key part of this will be overseeing the successful operation and promotion of our expanded food pantry.

Coordinating volunteers will be essential, particularly in managing and expanding our cargo bike fleet for surplus food collection and redistribution. You will also explore opportunities to monetise these sustainable transport services. To further engage the community, you will organise and host quarterly workshops on reducing food waste and eating on a budget.

Ultimately, you will play a vital role in coordinating our surplus food operations, managing volunteer teams, and strengthening partnerships to ensure our food services are impactful, sustainable, and community-led.

Key Responsibilities

Food Supply & Partnerships

• Secure regular surplus food donations from local supermarkets, shops, restaurants, farms, and redistribution networks (e.g., FareShare, Felix Project, Newham Food Alliance).
• Build strong partnerships with local and national food aid providers to maximise supply, reduce duplication, and ensure continuity of stock.
• Ensure culturally appropriate, nutritious food options are consistently available.

Food Service Delivery

• Lead the operational management of the RenewALL Food Pantry, ensuring it is welcoming, respectful, and centred on dignity and choice.
• Oversee twice-weekly pantry sessions, ensuring high-quality customer service, stock availability, and culturally relevant food.
• Maximise the effective use of volunteers in the operation of the pantry.

Sustainable Food Initiatives & Logistics

• Manage and expand the cargo bike food redistribution programme, ensuring effective logistics, safety, insurance, and maintenance.

Volunteer Leadership & Team Management

• In partnership with the Volunteer Manager, recruit, train, and support volunteers across the Foodbank, Food Pantry, café, warm meals, and cargo bike services.
• Work with colleagues to develop food collection rotas, provide training (food safety, customer care), and ensure smooth operations across all food-related services.

Innovation & Development

• Work with colleagues to explore and develop revenue opportunities linked to sustainable food and transport initiatives (e.g., monetising cargo bike deliveries).

  Project Awareness & Marketing

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable weather and climate scientist to join us at The Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) as the Science Engagement Officer.

This is an exciting career opportunity for an individual who is keen to use their skills and knowledge to make a positive impact and advance the understanding of weather and climate in society through informal education. In this role, you will provide scientific support across science engagement project development, delivery and wider RMetS team operations. Reporting to the Head of Publishing and Scientific Engagement, you will have responsibility for developing training materials and co-delivering sessions for our climate change communication training, and you will deliver RMetS early career initiatives such as our career events. You will also create engaging content for various RMetS activities and stakeholders, and work with the media to enhance public awareness of weather and climate.

Reporting to the Corporate Manager and working closely alongside colleagues across the Philanthropy team, this role will drive forward MSF’s corporate new business activity. The role aligns with MSF’s strategic fundraising ambitions and will be crucial to securing increased income from new sources.

The Corporate Officer (New Business) will be responsible for proactively seeking and securing new funding from corporates at the £100k+ level with the ambition to secure sector-leading, transformational partnerships. This role is also responsible for day-to-day management and reporting on status of the new business pipeline and a project to maximise payroll giving.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, skilled and passionate Project Development Manager to join our England Project Management team, working primarily in the South of England. 

The England Project Management Team manage all sorts of projects, from species recovery at a landscape scale to infrastructure repairs and commercial developments. Each day as a Project Development Manager is different. You might find yourself chairing a project team meeting one day, visiting a construction site the next, and negotiating with contractors the day after that.

As a Project Development Manager, you will directly manage some of the most ambitious and complex projects within the RSPB. At the same time, you will work closely with the Operations Director and Area Managers in the Southern region to develop a pipeline of projects across the South, and make sure they’re being well-managed.

Our project teams include colleagues from a range of disciplines as well as external consultants and suppliers. You’ll need to be able to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders and motivate others to get things done to keep projects progressing smoothly.

Key activities will include:

• Develop and manage one or more complex projects at any one time. To include budget management, stakeholder management, risk management, contractor procurement and other tasks as required. 
• Lead and motivate project teams to achieve project success by focusing on a common goal. 
• Develop and oversee a pipeline of projects that contribute to delivery against strategic priorities, working with regional/country management teams. 
• Provide support & advice to the regional /country management team to enable them to use the PMF effectively to deliver strategic priorities and successful projects (including ensuring project assurance is in place). 
• Line management of more junior project management team members.
• Provide advice and support to colleagues on project management best practice, helping to build overall project management capability across England.
• Be an advocate for Cora, the RSPB’s on-line project management system.

We are seeking a Funding Officer to join our passionate and friendly team in Northern Ireland.

This permanent position is part of our Southern Team, which covers the following Council areas: Ards and North Down, Mid Ulster, Newry Mourne and Down and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon. Led by a Funding Manager and supported by four other Funding Officers, you will be responsible for the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon areas while also working flexibly across the wider local team to help meet the demands of our funding programmes.

Based primarily in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon areas, you will work from home and within local community settings. The role will also require travel to our Belfast office (around once every couple of weeks) as well as occasional visits to other parts of the Southern team area.

This is a varied and rewarding role and involves assessing funding applications across our programmes, managing grants and monitoring progress and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
