High Trees Community Development Trust is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Children, Young People & Families (CYPF) to join our senior management team and lead one of our core service areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a wide-ranging CYPF service that directly supports over 400 children and young people each year, and many more through partnerships. You will lead the newly redeveloped Tulse Hill Adventure Playground, ensuring it thrives as a hub for children, young people and families, alongside a portfolio of impactful programmes including school-based mentoring, young leaders’ programmes, family stay-and-play, and peer-led social action.

Supported by our Adventure Playground Manager and a team of youth and play workers, this is an incredibly exciting time for the service – the newly built structures, alongside a small animal area and a growing area, are ready to build an ambitious service around that meets the needs and interests of local children and families.

High Trees is also the lead partner in Building Young Brixton (BYB) – a consortium of 10 youth organisations working with 2,000 young people across Lambeth – which you will coordinate, alongside contributing to the Lambeth Peer Action Collective.

Our Head of CYPF plays a key leadership role that combines strategic oversight with hands-on involvement. You will bring significant experience in youth or community work, with the skills to manage multifaceted services, lead teams, and build strong partnerships with local organisations, schools and statutory bodies. By working closely with our team and partners, you will help ensure that children and young people in Lambeth have the opportunities and support they need to thrive.

We are currently recruiting for a versatile Health, Safety and Facilities Manager to join our Infrastructure Services team, to cover maternity leave. 

As our Health, Safety and Facilities Manager you will provide efficient facilities management and Health & Safety services to and for Friends of the Earth’s offices, workspaces, staff and volunteers. 

We are looking for someone with experience of a broad range of facilities management across multiple sites and the ability to communicate effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and with different needs.

Entry level Health and Safety qualification or working towards this is essential along with up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and experience of carrying out assessments. 

Key Skills and Attributes:  

• Practical experience of a broad range of facilities work, including Hard and Soft Facilities matters across multiple sites. 

• Management of third parties’ contractors hired to complete facilities tasks, using method statements, risk assessments and a permit to work scheme. 

• Proven experience of improving supplier value through contract review, market research and contract negotiation 

• Entry level Health and Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely Certificate or similar) and working towards NEBOSH qualification, with up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and experience of carrying out Risk Assessments, DSE Assessments, etc. 

• Experience of communicating effectively and building strong relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds and with different needs, both individually and in groups, and working with sometimes challenging clients. 

• Ability to safely perform equipment installation/elementary repair work and manage/assist in the movement of office apparatus. 

• Lead and manage projects and provide training to staff within a facilities context. 

Special working conditions  

• This role is a key holder for our offices, and the holder must be prepared to be on call in the event of an emergency. 

• There will be the occasional need for travel within the UK, with the requirement to stay away from home overnight on occasions. 

The team:  

Working closely with and managing the Facilities Assistant, you will ensure Friends of the Earth meets the required Health and Safety standards. You will be part of our vital Infrastructure team, sitting within the Finance and Operations Directorate.

The Infrastructure team is responsible for the physical and virtual platform we use to do our work, from physical premises to our network, servers and Service Desk for support issues.

About This Job

As Fundraising Assistant at sister charities, ACCT UK and CCFA, you will play a key role in the growth of existing fundraising and in the creation of new income streams. Stewarding fundraisers, helping to develop new and existing fundraising campaigns, building relationships internally within the cadet organisations and externally with Trusts and Foundations, corporates and major givers. You will provide administrative and operational support, including maintaining the fundraising database. Purpose of the post

The Business Administrator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of AHS. This position focuses on the practical delivery and coordination of operations including implementing processes, maintaining systems, and supporting teams to work efficiently to deliver a longitudinal study. Acting as a central point for administration, the postholder will help keep our operations organised, identify and escalate issues as they arise, and ensure that processes and activities run seamlessly across our remote organisation.

About Adolescent Health Study

The Adolescent Health Study (AHS) is an ambitious new UKRI-funded initiative to establish a prospective, longitudinal population study that will generate a globally leading open science data platform and research resource. AHS aims to recruit at least 100,000 young people from across the UK and to follow their mental and physical health and wellbeing over at least 10 years. It plans to collect data through questions and measures; to obtain bio-samples for a wide range of genomic and other high-throughput assays; and to capture linked data relevant to health and wellbeing from participants’ health, education and other administrative records. There will be a strong emphasis on engaging with and involving young people, schools, parents and other relevant stakeholders in the design and delivery of the study, as well as on including young people that represent as wide as possible a range of backgrounds, experiences and characteristics. AHS will focus on enabling a wide range of research, including studies of the critical biological and social developments that occur during the transition from childhood to adulthood and the determinants of both mental and physical health and wellbeing in adolescents and young adults.

Main responsibilities

 Operational Delivery and Implementation

· Provide hands-on support to teams and managers in rolling out new tools, systems and operational processes that are critical for the success of the longitudinal study

· Support the smooth, day-to-day running of business operations, ensuring tasks and processes are completed efficiently

· Identify operational issues or bottlenecks, propose practical solutions where appropriate, and escalate matters to the Business Manager

Administration and Systems Management

· Maintain and update shared digital platforms, databases and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance

· Manage administrative functions such as task tracking in a fully virtual environment

· Provide day-to-day administrative support including preparing, filing, archiving and retrieving documents

· Manage AHS central inbox(es) and escalate matters to the Business Manager as appropriate

Team Coordination and Support

· Coordinate meetings and workshops, including scheduling and logistics, for AHS team members and external parties as required

· Provide key administrative support during meetings, including business and study meeting minutes as required

People and HR Administration

· Support HR processes including onboarding, training coordination, and maintaining staff and contractor records

What the job involves

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Fundraising professional to join our Individual Giving Team, focussing on our mid value programme and assisting with the production and development of campaigns aimed specifically for this audience.

Direct Marketing plays an important role in the organisation’s fundraising and overall corporate strategy, and we have seen a fantastic growth in our mid-value programme to date. We’re looking for a confident and proactive fundraiser to take responsibility for the delivery and development of this audience and further shape the programme.  

As a Direct Marketing Executive, you’ll use a range of channel content to reach and meet the needs of your audience and tailor your approach based on audience insight. 

You’ll deliver timely, targeted, relevant communications to warm mid value audience, to engage them wider with the work of Prostate Cancer UK with the overall aim to increase their life-time value.

With internal and external stakeholders, you’ll project manage direct marketing campaigns in the form of seasonal appeals, email updates, and occasional stewardship events. You’ll consistently review KPIs and make evidence-based choices to help assist with growing the programme and delivering our overall financial target.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Direct Marketing Executive who has excellent knowledge and experience of working in a fundraising environment is vital, you’ll also be able to demonstrate your knowledge and/or experience of stewarding donors by understanding the importance of meeting their needs.

You’ll possess first class communication skills; a strong team ethic and you will be at ease working with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The ability to manage expenditure budgets and projects is also essential, along with proven knowledge of data protection and sector compliance. Knowledge of direct marketing and fundraising law would be advantageous as well as philanthropy experience.

Main Purpose of Role:
