Main purpose of the role:
To support, develop and coordinate a variety of areas of activity within the Fundraising team.
Key responsibilities:
Assist with the stewardship of fundraising supporters across the various income areas and maintain and improve supporter retention and engagement.
Utilise the charity database, carry out regular analysis, generate reports, ensure fundraising records and folders are accurate and up to date and provide regular feedback to the Senior Fundraising Manager.
Support with and coordinate seasonal raffles, distribution of mail-outs and merchandise, and manage stock levels.
Conduct regular supporter research to ensure Retina UK remains innovative with fundraising activities.
Liaise with venues, supporters, exhibitors and attendees ahead of fundraising events and activities.
Thank supporters in the appropriate manner and update and refresh supporter letter templates quarterly to effectively communicate the value of donor contributions.
Take a proactive approach in guiding supporters and potential fundraisers on how they can be involved with Retina UK. Offer clear advice on fundraising opportunities and ensure incoming enquiries are directed to relevant activities that align with their interests and needs.
Work collaboratively to maintain an efficient and practical admin system. Arrange, attend and take minutes at fundraising team meetings as and when required

The Associate Director of Local Fundraising is a senior role within the Income, Innovation and Engagement directorate; a highly ambitious and professional team which is working to grow income and strengthen the organisation’s voice across the UK as the leading end of life care charity in the UK. Marie Curie has ambitious financial growth targets and needs to drive net contribution, engagement and awareness if they are to achieve their fundraising ambitions and subsequently their service growth goals.
The primary focus of the role is to maximise the net contribution from local fundraising but also to drive community awareness and engagement with Marie Curie. This is a key role for Marie Curie, responsible for managing a team of over 100 people and having responsibility for over £20 million Income, the recruitment of legacy prospects, the delivery of fundraising events and the strategic approach of supporter facing volunteers.
The Fundraising teams based in communities across the UK are responsible for raising money, driving legacy sign ups, building event participation and profit and growing awareness and engagement of the need for and impact of the charity’s work amongst supporters and people who have the potential to support Marie Curie. The ideal candidate will have senior leadership experience in a fundraising environment with a successful track record in increasing voluntary income or revenue. They will also have experience in developing both annual operational and three-year strategic plans, developing creative and innovative solutions and digital marketing and in working with working with volunteers and engaging local communities. This will be combined with a proven track record in managing large high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.

The Fundraising Department exists to grow and deepen productive relationships with our amazing supporters. We are driven to raise the money and partnerships needed to deliver CAP’s vision to see transformed lives, thriving churches and an end to UK poverty. The Supporter Development team is made up of the Fundraising and Engagement Leads and Officer, and is led by the Supporter Development Manager. The team works alongside our Supporter Care and Connection teams, and Communications Department to deliver a fantastic and rewarding supporter experience. The team’s scope includes regular giving income, appeals, legacies, fundraising events, festivals, sponsored events, supporter campaigning and supporter experience. We have incredible and committed supporters including over 28,000 Life Changers, who give to us on a monthly basis.
Purpose
The Fundraising & Engagement Leads plan and deliver a portfolio of programmes and projects aimed at growing income and deepening relationships with our supporters. The Fundraising and Engagement Leads has strategic ownership for key areas of fundraising. They work with the Supporter Development Manager to set strategic direction for that area, creating annual plans that will deliver our objectives and key results, and monitoring and evaluating results. They work cross organisationally, creating strategies and projects that align with CAPs vision and integrated messaging. They manage projects from briefing and ideation, creation and delivery, to monitoring and evaluation, maintaining productive and professional cross-organisational working relationships. They contribute to the team’s annual planning cycle and engage critically and collaboratively with each other to strengthen and align every area of our work.

Church Engagement and Fundraising Officers (CEFO) inspire churches and individuals to be agents of change within Christian Aid, to live our values and mission to overcome poverty. Your role will offer bespoke support, often face-to-face, to a defined set of churches and Christian Aid groups enabling and enriching their contributions. As a CEFO you will motivate churches, groups and individuals to give, act and pray building on the agency of supporters and developing volunteers within their area of work.

Growing Hope Senior Finance Officer
Location: Hybrid working (2-3 days office based in King’s Cross Mon, Thurs and possibly Fri)
Hours: 37.5 (full time)

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus. Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe, and we are currently setting up our fourth and fifth clinics in Maidstone and Redbridge. We worked with over 500 children, young people, parents, carers and siblings in 2023. As a national charity Growing Hope has trained over 1,000 professionals & parents. We are continuing to expand, with the set-up of further local clinics on the horizon.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic finance professional with great attention to detail, strong analytical skills and an ability to work in a fast pace environment. The role will report to the Director of Operations and will involve running book keeping, reporting and banking functions as well as overseeing payroll. This role supports the national Growing Hope charity and each of the local charities’ (clinics) accounting for around £1 million collectively each year. You will be joining a small and dedicated national team of eleven.
Job Purpose
Growing Hope requires an experienced finance professional (with part qualifications) who will be responsible for the delivery of internal financial management systems and controls, and for maintaining accurate financial management records, including managing the process of producing annual accounts. This role covers both the national charity and the local Growing Hope charities which are growing across the UK. The national charity raises around £600,000 per year and the local charities around £50,000-£100,000. The Senior Finance Officer will support the charities with day to day book keeping, raising invoices, paying expenses, scheduling payroll payments and running management reports and accounts. This job role also involves advising on budgets for fundraising project proposals and working closely with the supporter engagement team. This individual will be able to communicate effectively with all the relevant parties including the national Growing Hope team, the local Clinic Managers, and local finance trustees who have overall governance of each charity’s finances.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Book keeping & Finance processes
- Processing of accounts using Quickbooks for each Growing Hope charity in a timely manner (currently 6 small charities)
- Paying expenses and invoices as and when these are approved.
- Liaising with payroll provider and scheduling salary payments for all staff each month.
- Invoicing local Growing Hope charities each month for book keeping, payroll and quickbooks.
- Running gift aid claims and supporting volunteers to run this across the Growing Hope charities.
- Liaising with local clinics and churches to agree payment schedules and giving for each financial year.
- Participate actively in prayer and worship times as part of the team. This includes praying, coaching and supporting Clinic Managers to understand their budgets and financial processes.
Fundraising
- Contributing to the fundraising strategy and development of budgets for fundraising projects.
- Contributing to the wider teams fundraising efforts through networking, and involvement in fundraising and community events.
Reporting
- Updating monthly forecast vs. budget spreadsheets for each local charity and the national charity.
- Leading monthly budget reporting meetings for Senior Leadership Team and Chair of Trustees, using analytical skills to highlight patterns or potential risks or problems arising.
- Create annual reports in partnership with the Clinic Managers and Finance trustee for each local charity and ensure these are independently examined by recruiting and liaising with volunteer accountants.
Payroll
- Liaising with the payroll provider to run payroll for all staff across the Growing Hope charities each month.
- Setting up and running pension payments each month.
- Paying NI payments each month.
General administration
- Set up bank accounts and signatories for local Growing Hope charities, support the local trustees with ensuring all financial processes are set up and working (e.g. bank account, Stripe, Quickbooks, payroll, pensions, HMRC)
- Sending letters and emails as required.
- Maintain data protection and confidentiality in line with Growing Hope’s information governance policy.
- Ensure adherence to Safeguarding and wider Growing Hope policies.

Our Direct Marketing Team is part of this department, and recruits and develops supporters. We are seeking a Direct Marketing Officer to join this team to manage and deliver a series of high standard direct marketing campaigns across our Regular Giving programme. This individual will be recruiting, retaining and upgrading regular donors to generate income through a variety of direct marketing methods such as direct dialogue, DRTV, digital, and direct mail. They will be encouraging regular monthly gifts or support via one of our main products such as general Regular Giving and Sponsorship, our Lottery, Value Exchange programme and other methods of committed giving as they arise.

We are looking for maternity cover for eight months for the role of Senior Alumni Relations Officer, responsible for building and strengthening relationships between Pembroke and its alumni and other supporters. The main duties to be carried out by the post-holder include:
Alumni Relations
