About the role
Reporting to the Head of External Relations and working closely with the Programmes and Fundraising teams, the Communications Coordinator will be responsible for enhancing the external profile of the organisation, communicating to, and broadening our impact with, a wide range of audiences, from multilateral institutions and the global media to our supporters and peers. With a strong grasp of strategic communications, excellent content creation skills and a keen eye for detail, you will have the ability to produce timely and engaging communications outputs both independently and in close coordination with other teams and our local partners.

About you
You are an organised, self-starting and experienced communications professional with a proven track record of working in fast-paced, internationally focused environments.

Location

Role Overview
The Governance Administration Officer will be an integral member of the Trust’s Governance and Administration Team, supporting the Governance & Compliance Manager to ensure the effective and efficient administration of governance and compliance activities of the Trust as well as providing administration support to the wider team alongside other administration staff.
Primary Responsibilities
Governance
1. Provide administrative support to enable effective management of The Road Safety Trust’s Governance and Compliance activities.

5. Support Trustee recruitment and induction, coordinate Trustee training, and regulatory reporting.

The Transforming Peace & Security Campaigner will lead Medact’s campaigning for healthcare spaces which truly centre health and health justice, not surveillance, profiling and policing, in addition to providing ongoing strategic support to members organising against war and nuclear threat.
This role will lead on our strategic priority area of Ending State Violence. The campaigner will implement campaign strategy focused on targeted organising to build coalitions and solidarity with marginalised communities, continuing our campaign against the Prevent duty in health, and supporting our Medact Abolitionist Approaches to Health Group. They’ll also work with our established Nuclear Weapons group to promote disarmament and encourage investment in nonviolent responses to conflict. The role involves maintaining and deepening existing partnerships with external organisations, grassroots groups and institutions.

This isn’t an entry-level role but you don’t need to have had a job in an NGO before or be a professional campaigner to be right for it. You might have worked with your local community to campaign on a social justice or health issue that you care about. Or you might be a healthcare worker who has seen the impact of securitisation on your patients and wants to challenge the encroachment of policing and profiling. You’ll have a strong understanding of power and how to work with others to create pressure for change. The post holder will help lead on the development of all aspects of Freedom from Torture’s wellbeing strategy. The Communications Manager provides operational leadership for CLAPA's communications delivery, ensuring communications and marketing activity is effectively planned, prioritised and delivered in support of the charity's strategic objectives.
Reporting to the Head of Communications and Marketing, the postholder is responsible for translating the communications strategy into coordinated day-to-day delivery. They will oversee the planning, scheduling and operational management of communications activity across the organisation, ensuring work is appropriately prioritised, resources are allocated effectively and projects are delivered to a consistently high standard.
The role directly manages CLAPA's Communications Officers, embedding effective planning, briefing and workflow processes that enable the team to deliver proactive, creative and high-quality communications.
Acting as the primary operational lead for communications delivery, the postholder will ensure colleagues across CLAPA receive responsive, well-planned communications support while maintaining clear priorities and protecting the team's capacity to deliver its best work.
