Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to everyone who is in need of support.
The successful candidate willdeliver a high-quality service to young people aged 16–17 and their families across Hertfordshire, working alongside the Family Link Work and Mediation services to prevent family breakdown and reduce repeat homelessness. They will also support the wider team and work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the service achieves its key performance indicators (KPIs).
What will you be doing?
Lead the hyh Hub, overseeing its day-to-day operations and ensuring the effective delivery of services. The Hub acts as a gateway for young people aged 16–17 to access hyh’s prevention services. In this role, you will build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, partners, and commissioners, while supporting the recruitment, training, and professional development of Advice & Information and Admin Workers. You will also monitor outcomes and produce reports for the leadership team and funders to demonstrate impact and inform future service development.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage research and insight projects, including quick-turnaround polls and primary/secondary research to strengthen Young Enterprise’s evidence base.
- Coordinate and align data across multiple programmes, supporting colleagues to improve data collection, consistency, quality assurance and reporting.
- Monitor, clean and validate data, ensuring high standards of data quality and completeness.
- Apply creative and innovative approaches to data collection, analysis and visual storytelling, ensuring young people’s voices are represented authentically.
- Stay up to date with external research and sector trends, particularly in education and youth research, building strong peer networks.
- Synthesize and communicate insights clearly through briefings, presentations and the organisation’s Evidence Hub to meet diverse internal needs.
- Support external reporting and dissemination, ensuring funder monitoring and evaluation requirements are met and impact is shared effectively.
- Act as a day-to-day research and insights contact, collaborating across teams and contributing to cross-organisational initiatives.

As the Alumni Officer, you will be someone who enjoys working with young people and is passionate about supporting them to progress to vibrant degrees and careers in STEM. The post holder will have strong knowledge and understanding of the barriers facing young people from low socioeconomic backgrounds accessing STEM education and careers across the UK.
The Alumni Officer will deliver the continuation of support for hundreds young people who complete the In2STEM programme every year, supporting them with continued support throughout year 13/S6 as they progress to post FE education, apprenticeships and training, and providing long term careers opportunities.
The post holder will be an organised and motivated self-starter who thrives in the face of change, enjoys creative problem solving, working in a team and can achieve deadlines on a tight timescale.

Person Specification
You’ll be an energetic person who thrives on making new connections and can inspire others to take action. As an experienced facilitator you will be confident facilitating groups and at ease with designing and adapting formal and informal training sessions appropriate to the context.
Your experience MUST include facilitating groups who don’t already hold a common and agreed set of values. So while academic or activist settings may form a significant part of your experience, it is essential to have worked in a mixed community or neighbourhood setting, where you regularly encountered and brought together a range of contrasting viewpoints, which included views substantially different to your own.

By partnering with primary schools, we support thousands of families across the UK to enjoy learning together at home. Our child-led videos and hands-on family activities replace traditional homework. Through behavioural insight research, innovative technology and teacher training we ensure that as many families as possible are supported effectively.
We are working to improve parental engagement across the sector, by producing evidence of parents’ impact and generating insights into how schools can best support them. Learnings are disseminated through the Parental Engagement Forum and amplified through the Fair Education Alliance.
About the Role
The Curriculum Leads are responsible for developing new content and updating existing content to ensure that it is accessible, curriculum-aligned and fun to help promote positive parent-child interactions. The Early Years role will continue the development of our school readiness programme, Ready Teddy beyond its pilot phase to ensure that it has the greatest impact on the schools and families that use it.
We see this person being our Early Years Lead initially focussed on the development of Ready Teddy as a full programme, in the future they will have the opportunity to explore other early years programmes we may seek to undertake.

Ready Teddy Programme Design
- Use existing evaluation findings to expand on the current Ready teddy programme content.
- Build on the programme structure from the pilot to create a full programme design
- Ensure the Ready Teddy Programme links well with our other programme to maintain coverage beyond it
- Design and implement the logistic elements of the Ready Teddy Programme
Content development
- Plan scope of content required, both in terms of creating new content and updating existing content.
- Use subject and pedagogical knowledge to design and create new activities for the website which align to the curriculum for Early Years.
- Ensure that all activities promote fun parent-child interactions and will be accessible to and engage disadvantaged families.
- Maintain and update the content database.
- Review existing topics and activities to identify areas for improvement on an ongoing basis.
- Develop new supporting materials, including PDFs and imagery, and update existing materials as required.
- Write or contribute to external programmatic materials that explain our pedagogical approach.
- Work with the wider teams, for example tech or schools, to ensure the programmes are delivered to all users in a consistent way.

Filming content
- Manage the logistics of filming, including agreeing dates with schools, securing appropriate permissions, booking travel and follow up communications.
- Plan and script videos and create or provide resources needed for filming.
- Work with school age children and their parents to film the videos and lead the filming day(s) within the school environment.
- Own the relationship with the videographer to film all videos and ensure the completed videos are delivered within agreed timescales.

About You
A successful Curriculum Lead – Early Years will be eager to work in a small team, have a can-do attitude, and be keen to get stuck in to support the charity’s growth and impact.

Working in partnership with local churches, this pioneering pilot programme not only addresses the underlying issues children are facing, but also offers vital support to parents, carers and school staff.
As the TLG Therapeutic Hub Counsellor, you will deliver specialist trauma-aware care through 1:1 counselling and group interventions for pupils. Working closely with a Family Champion from the partnering church, you will also lead Reflective Care groups for parents/carers and staff, promoting wellbeing and fostering wrap-around care for each young person supported through the hub. High standards of safeguarding and accurate record-keeping will be central to your work, and through regular collaboration with the pilot team, you will help to shape and refine this exciting new initiative.
We are looking for a Level 4 qualified Counsellor or Therapist who thrives in a school setting and is passionate about bringing fullness of life for young people and families, helping them overcome the challenges they face. You will be confident in building strong relationships and working collaboratively to design a weekly programme that meets both client and school needs. Creativity is highly valued, and we welcome applicants with creative specialisms that are particularly effective for engaging young people.

Role Summary
The Resources Coordinator role sits within the learning content creation team, which is responsible for the devising, commissioning and delivering of high quality, film-focused learning opportunities. These include the production of resources and online courses for teachers and their learners which are made available on our website and on our learning platform.
Main Responsibilities:
- Produce high quality, exciting and engaging resources for educators and young people, including commercial resources for film industry clients.
- Contribute to the planning and evaluation of resources within our three key areas of work: Teaching with Film, Careers and Progression, and Filmmaking.

THE ROLE:
The Service Manager plays a central role in ensuring that every young person who engages with Empire Fighting Chance receives high-quality, personalised support.
In this role, you will ensure that every young person who connects with Empire Fighting Chance receives an outstanding experience. You will oversee the full journey of young people through our programmes. From referral and assessment to onboarding, scheduling and progression. You will ensure their experience is safe and impactful.
You will champion a safety-aware culture across the organisation, embedding safeguarding into everyday practice and leading on case management and risk mitigation. This role is key to building a strong operational foundation for our Centre of Excellence in Bristol. Through strategic management, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement, you will help shape an environment where young people feel safe, supported and empowered.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
1. Manage the recruitment of young people
Accountable for the recruitment of suitable young people onto the programmes of Empire Fighting Chance.
- Implement a robust referral criteria process to ensure that Empire Fighting Chance targets the young people that it best supports.Contribute to the development of a ‘bank’ of recommended organisations to share with those young people who do not meet the charity’s referral criteria.

2. Manage the triaging and scheduling of young people
Accountable for ensuring young people participate in the right programme with the right coach mentor or therapist at the right time.
- Improve the prioritisation criteria to ensure that the charity fast tracks individuals who are most in need of support.
- Identify new approaches to managing the charity’s waiting list, ensuring the programmes can meet their needs and offer the correct resources to support them.
- Implement our assessment process to ensure Empire Fighting Chance gains a full and accurate understanding of each young person’s needs and circumstances.
- Implement a process to match young people with the most appropriate Empire Fighting Chance programme and coach mentor/therapist.
- Strengthen the scheduling process of young people’s programmes at Empire Fighting Chance.
3. Manage a safety aware culture
Accountable for developing of a culture where safeguarding and safety are embedded into every aspect
of our work.
- Champion a safety-aware culture across the organisation, embedding safeguarding into everyday practice.

4. Manage young people’s ‘Empire Experience’
Accountable for Empire Fighting Chance giving young people the best possible experience (outside of the delivery of programmes).
- Identify and implement improvements to The Mill boxing gym to ensure that young people feel safe and have an enjoyable experience (while retaining the look and feel of a real boxing gym).
- Oversee the onboarding process to ensure that young people have the best possible start to their Empire experience.
- Work alongside the Head of Programmes and Community Outreach Manager to develop a ‘bank’ of local organisations and services that young people can be referred onto during or after their programme. Ensure this information is shared with coaches and therapists so they can communicate it to the young person.
- Oversee the offboarding process that will support young people to continue their development after leaving Empire Fighting Chance (e.g. resources and pathways for young people – internally and externally).
- Use data and insights from young people to improve their experience.
5. Manage the provision of family liaison/support
Accountable for providing support to parents/carers of young people.
- Work alongside the Family Liaison Officer to enhance the information, advice, guidance and support provided to parents and carers to ensure young people engage with their programme.
- Oversee the development of practices and interventions that can provide support to parents and carers that will, in turn, have benefits for young people.
6. Line management of a team
Provide strategic direction to a small team in a supportive manner.
- Provide clear direction, support and motivation to team members, ensuring the Centre of Excellence objectives and the experience of young people is central to all decision making.
- Set clear performance goals and expectations for each function area within the operations team to ensure EFC programmes are operating to the highest standards and at optimal capacity.
- Ensure the team receive regular CPD and are equipped with the skills and knowledge to best support young people (many with complex needs).
