Claudia Jones organisation (CJO) Is looking to appoint a highly skilled Executive Director with experience of working in the Voluntary/Community sector to support the development of the organisation. This is a key appointment funded for 1year.

CJO is one of the few small Black lead charities in London, enhancing the quality of life for African Caribbean Women and Families. Founded in 1982 at the request of Caribbean women, CJO delivers family-centred services for women with children 0-16yrs, Gender- based violence support, connections for older people, health and wellbeing activities, counselling and therapeutic interventions to inspire and empower African Caribbean heritage women and families.

Reporting to the board of directors/trustees, the Executive Director will oversee the strategic and operational efficiencies of our programmes and staff. This experienced leader will not only understand the working of the voluntary/community sector but also have experience in developing and implementing a successful fundraising plan. Experience of hiring and managing staff is essential and establishing relationships with local community groups is a plus. Most importantly, the Executive Director should be highly effective in a Leadership role that requires clear communication skills and decisiveness. It is important that the post holder embraces our community -based broader philosophy of investment in our community.

Objectives of this role

•  Support the development and cultivation of an active and engaged Board of trustees, standing and advisory committees
•  Work closely with the Board/Trustees and committees to assess and address issues affecting the organisation

• Work with Staff and Board/trustees on other annual community initiatives, programmes and all external communications, including website, newsletters, promotional materials including the media
• Serve as the face of the organisation and participate in external events to increase visibility, credibility and market brand, and develop strategic partnership to further increase community awareness and expand programmes
• Build and lead an effective team that’s dedicated to fulfilling the organisation’s mission through highly successful programmes, community engagement and fundraising
• Manage staff members, volunteers and clients whose experience, cultures and languages reflect the community served by the organisation

We are looking for an experienced youth worker to join our team and lead our Short Breaks project, which provides activities and support specifically for children and young people who have autism and have low to moderate support needs. Camp Mohawk is a woodland activity centre that provides support to children, young people and families from across the South of England.

The children and young people (approximately 100 individuals) supported by the project are aged 8 to approximately 25 years and are largely independent in terms of their self care but have a variety of social, sensory and sometimes medical needs that mean it is very difficult for them to participate in mainstream activities. Our Short Breaks service offers after school activities (in 3 age groups) on Tuesdays and Thursdays in term time, as well as full days of activities once per week in school holidays. These activities give the young people essential social opportunities during which they are supported with things they find challenging, encouraged to express their natural personalities and explore and develop their interests. During these sessions they can receive support to develop their social skills if that is what they need, and can take part in fun activities with their peers. The groups generally cater for between 10 and 20 young people per session.

To be a good fit for this role, you will need to be an exceptional and dedicated childcare / youth worker who has proven experience of supporting and safeguarding children and young people, particularly those who have autism. You should have experience of planning inclusive activities, managing budgets and supervising teams of staff. The role is very much a ‘hands on’ role working directly with the project beneficiaries for the majority of the post hours - you must be able to commit to working the majority of Tuesday (16.00 - 19.30) and Thursday (18.30 - 22.00) evenings in term time, and at least one full day (09.00 - 17.30) per week during school holidays, with the exception of the Christmas holidays when the centre is closed. You will work 10 hours per month on project associated admin which can be undertaken remotely and largely at times that suit you. You must have a full UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle that is insured for business use. Camp Mohawk is not easily accessible by public transport, whilst some Short Breaks activities take place at off site locations in Reading, Wokingham, Maidenhead, Bracknell, Slough and surrounding areas.

The current post holder also works in the role of Duty Manager for other school holiday days / term time weekend days. This aspect of the role, which will be an optional add on to the Short Breaks Coordinator role with negotiable hours, would be undertaken on a rotational basis with our 4 other Duty Managers. The role involves overseeing the daily delivery of general Family Sessions which support families who have children of all ages and who have a wide range of special needs and disabilities. In this role you will guide and supervise a team of support staff and volunteers through set up of the facilities at the start of the day, oversee the smooth and effective delivery of the service and support families during their visits, work effectively within our Safeguarding Lead Team, and supervise the cleaning and close down of facilities once the session has completed.

Everything you do will have the aim of ensuring that people with lived experience have their say over the help they receive and have the opportunity to shape housing and homelessness services.

You will plan and deliver a variety of involvement activities around Norfolk, working closely with the Shelter team and wider partners as part of the Norfolk Homelessness Solutions Forum. This will include recruiting, training and inducting people to be part of lived experience activities, supporting Shelter colleagues to put people with lived experience at the heart of their work. You will ensure that there are regular opportunities for feedback and that any wellbeing and safeguarding concerns are managed in line with Shelter’s processes.

About you

You will need experience of facilitating involvement groups and other activities to support and involve people with lived experience in Shelter’s work. You have a strong understanding of how lived experience of housing issues can impact a person and so ensure a safe and inclusive space where everybody can contribute. The ability to plan and co-ordinate involvement activities with local teams, with several activities running at once is important as well.

You will have a flair for developing successful relationships with colleagues across an organisation, as well as external local organisations and partners. Also, you have some experience of presenting information verbally and in writing and IT literacy including case management systems and Microsoft Office.

The aim of the Norfolk Homelessness Solution Forum is to bring about system change for homelessness support in Norfolk, by ensuring that the people’s views are transferred into policies and practices that truly support and serve the community. The Forum helps with the sharing of best practice, identifying service gaps and developing strategy to reduce homelessness and rough sleeping.

About the Team

We have been providing housing advice to the people of Norfolk for almost 30 years, with specialisms in housing legal advice and advocacy. Our team work out of our Community Hub in Norwich and across Norfolk in community settings. We work in partnership with other local services to address interconnected issues which may impact on our clients’ ability to keep a home. This also includes advice for residents of Kings Lynn in partnership with Broadland Housing and Norfolk Citizens Advice.We also deliver housing right awareness sessions to empower local communities to take action on housing issues.

Role Purpose

To support the Development Function by managing opportunity research, bid compliance, and submission processes, ensuring a high-quality, organised and proactive pipeline of commissioned, grant and framework opportunities.

The Bid Coordinator will play a critical role in maintaining bid governance, strengthening pre-tender intelligence, and ensuring timely, compliant submissions, while providing light-touch writing support where required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Opportunity Monitoring & Market Intelligence

• Monitor procurement portals (e.g. Contracts Finder, Find a Tender, DPS platforms, local authority portals) independently to identify relevant opportunities not yet captured in Stotles
• Use Stotles to its full capability for pre-bid market intelligence, including commissioner profiling, spend analysis, contract expiry tracking, award pattern analysis, and commissioning trend identification
• Flag potential opportunities to the Senior Bid Manager for qualification, supporting the maintenance of a 12-month forward pipeline
• Track live frameworks, grants and pipeline intelligence aligned to strategic priorities
• Maintain Bids, Grants and Awards in Salesforce (ensuring accurate stage progression
• Conduct early-stage opportunity research including:
  • Contract history and incumbent analysis
  • Buyer behaviour and award trends
  • Estimated contract value benchmarking
  • Local delivery landscape and competitor mapping
• Prepare opportunity summaries to inform bid/no-bid discussions

2. Pre-Bid & Qualification Support

• Support bid/no-bid qualification processes
• Draft opportunity summaries for internal review
• Identify key risks (financial, delivery, TUPE, geographic, partnership requirements)
• Coordinate clarification questions where required

3. Bid Compliance & Submission Management

• Lead on completion of Selection Questionnaires (SQ), PQQs and standard compliance sections
• Maintain and update core compliance responses (policies, certifications, insurance, accounts, etc.)
• Ensure all attachments are current and correctly formatted
• Manage portal uploads and submission checks
• Conduct final compliance reviews before submission
• Maintain submission records and audit trail

4. Bid Toolkit & Content Library Management

• Maintain and update the Bid Toolkit (case studies, CVs, policies, impact data, boilerplate responses)
• Ensure evidence packs (e.g. wellbeing, confidence, lived-experience delivery) remain current
• Coordinate with Operations to gather up-to-date impact data and testimonials
• Version control all key documents
• Ensure alignment between toolkit content and organisational messaging

5. Writing & Development Support

• Provide light-touch drafting support for lower-risk questions
• Adapt standard responses to specific tenders
• Support editing, formatting and proofreading of submissions
• Assist in formatting submissions for clarity and consistency
• Support post-award review documentation and lessons learned logs

6. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Support quarterly pipeline reporting
• Track win rates and conversion trends
• Log feedback from unsuccessful bids and support thematic analysis

7. Repeatable Tasks by Cadence

Daily

• Check procurement portals and Stotles alerts for new or updated opportunities
• Monitor active submission deadlines and flag any risks to the Senior Bid Manager
• Update Salesforce with any status changes or new intelligence

Weekly

• Conduct a structured Stotles review: run commissioner and keyword searches, review expiring contracts, and log any new intelligence relevant to the pipeline
• Prepare and circulate a pipeline update summary ahead of any scheduled development team check-ins
• Review and progress any live clarification questions or portal correspondence
• Check and update bid toolkit items flagged as requiring refresh (policies, CVs, compliance documents)

Monthly

• Conduct a full pipeline review with the Senior Bid Manager, including stage progression, upcoming decision gates, and opportunities requiring early research
• Review compliance document expiry dates and initiate renewals where required (insurance certificates, policies, accounts)
• Gather updated impact data and outcomes from Operations/Salesforce for use in live bids and store in Bid Toolkit
• Update Salesforce with any new bid outcomes (awards, losses, withdrawals)

Quarterly

• Conduct a full audit of the bid toolkit: identify gaps, flag outdated content, and coordinate updates with the relevant teams
• Review Stotles usage and market intelligence gathered over the quarter; identify any commissioning patterns or emerging opportunities to inform the development strategy

Person Specification

Essential

• Strong organisational and deadline management skills
• Experience working with procurement portals
• High attention to detail, particularly in compliance documentation
• Ability to analyse information and summarise key points clearly
• Strong written communication skills

Desirable

• Experience in bid coordination, tender administration or similar role
• Experience within employability, social justice, or public sector contracts
• Familiarity with Salesforce or CRM systems
• Experience supporting SQ/PQQ completion
• Understanding of public procurement processes in the UK

22.5 hours per week / permanent / £26,755 per annum, pro rata / requirement of at least one evening per week - working pattern to be discussed at interview.

You will also have the ability to build trust with young people and staff alike and knowledge of trauma-informed and psychologically informed approaches.

Mind in Croydon is seeking a compassionate, proactive and community-focused Social Networking Caseworker to support adults experiencing severe and enduring mental health challenges to build confidence, strengthen social networks and engage in meaningful community activities.

This is a person-centred, recovery-focused role working with a caseload of up to 35 individuals. You will support people to identify their goals, access mainstream opportunities such as education, physical activity, cultural groups and volunteering, and gradually reduce reliance on statutory services where appropriate.
