CJO is one of the few small Black lead charities in London, enhancing the quality of life for African Caribbean Women and Families. Founded in 1982 at the request of Caribbean women, CJO delivers family-centred services for women with children 0-16yrs, Gender- based violence support, connections for older people, health and wellbeing activities, counselling and therapeutic interventions to inspire and empower African Caribbean heritage women and families.
Reporting to the board of directors/trustees, the Executive Director will oversee the strategic and operational efficiencies of our programmes and staff. This experienced leader will not only understand the working of the voluntary/community sector but also have experience in developing and implementing a successful fundraising plan. Experience of hiring and managing staff is essential and establishing relationships with local community groups is a plus. Most importantly, the Executive Director should be highly effective in a Leadership role that requires clear communication skills and decisiveness. It is important that the post holder embraces our community -based broader philosophy of investment in our community.

This new role, funded by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), is an opportunity to develop guidance and resources for Affected Others and professionals, alongside designing and delivering peer support services and training. The Democracy Network exists to help make collaboration across the democracy sector more effective. It connects organisations, practitioners and professionals across the UK democracy ecosystem, helping to reduce duplication, strengthen relationships, share intelligence, and enable more coordinated collective action.

The Network is jointly incubated by two organisations with deep roots in UK civic tech, democratic education, and sector-wide network building:
The Politics Project supports young people to use their voice by giving them access to brilliant democratic education. They work with young people, teachers, youth practitioners and politicians to help them learn about, teach and actively participate in democracy. The Politics Project also leads the Democracy Classroom Network, a sister network of over 100 organisations across the democracy, education and youth sectors which support over 3,500 teachers and youth practitioners to engage young people in democracy.
Democracy Club produces the most comprehensive election data in the UK. Established in 2010 and registered as a Community Interest Company in 2015, it runs the national polling station finder Where Do I Vote and candidate lookup service Who Can I Vote For, serving election information to millions of UK voters each year and supplying data to the Electoral Commission. Democracy Club brings a mailing list of 35,000, an active community of 1,200 volunteer contributors collaborating on election information, and strong digital and data expertise to the Network.
Our vision for the Network
Over the last year, we have carried out extensive consultation with members of the UK Democracy Network, the Network’s Steering Group and funders. Through this process, we have developed a new vision for the Network that is designed to reflect and support the diversity of the democracy sector, and the wide range of approaches, perspectives and organisations within it.
Our model is built around a series of smaller thematic, geographic and demographic-based “hubs” within the wider Network. These hubs will create spaces for organisations and individuals working on particular issues, in particular places, or with specific communities to collaborate more effectively, while remaining connected to the wider democracy ecosystem.
Alongside this, the Network will support stronger coordination and information sharing across the sector through activities such as a monthly bulletin, shared events, an annual conference and practical tools and databases that help partners collaborate more effectively.
Importantly, we want to build on and strengthen the excellent work that already exists across the democracy landscape, rather than duplicate it. Over time, we also hope the Network can help incubate and support new hubs and collaborations around emerging issues and opportunities within the democracy sector.
About the role
The Network will be delivered by a small core team: a Network Director (this role), a Network Manager (in post), and a Network Coordinator (to be recruited).
Our medium-term ambition is for the Network to become an independent organisation in its own right. We see this role as central to shaping that transition, with the successful candidate expected to lead the Network into its next phase as an independent organisation over the course of the grant period.
Key responsibilities
The Network Director provides overall leadership of the Network and is responsible for its long-term sustainability and strategic direction.
Specifically:
Represent the Network. In networking and fundraising events, high-level roundtables and in high-profile relationships with government, funders, media and sector leaders.
Lead on fundraising. Develop relationships with major funders, alongside Hattie Andrews at The Politics Project, building a diversified, sustainable funding base.
Oversee the Network's transition to an independent legal structure. Support the establishment of the Board, working with Harriet Andrews and Sym Roe to recruit members with a mix of professional expertise and elected network representatives.
Build an inclusive, supportive team culture. Line manage the Network Manager and Network Coordinator.
Oversee monitoring and evaluation. Lead reporting to funders, and support the annual review process with the team and Steering Group / Board.
Person specification
We are looking for a values-driven, experienced, strategic leader. They will have strong people and financial management skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships across the democracy sector. They will be an excellent communicator, comfortable leading through complexity and change, and motivated by a commitment to strengthening UK democracy.
The postholder will be expected to work in-office two days a week and attend regular in-person engagements in London.

South West Community Chaplaincy (SWCC) aims to provide effective care and community support for people going through the Criminal Justice System, including prison. This includes work such as advocacy, mentoring and holistic support to assist the integration of people with convictions into their communities, through a team of volunteers, within the counties of Cornwall , Devon and West Somerset.
We are looking for a committed and motivated individual who will be responsible for the recruitment, training, support and retention of the volunteers: someone who has the ability to think outside the box in the approach to this task, and to attract volunteers to be part of something incredible - the changing of clients’ lives.
Volunteers provide a cornerstone of the work that SWCC achieves. They allow the organisation to have a substantially more positive impact due to the greater number of clients they are able to support. To this end, it is imperative that we recruit the right people as volunteers and that they feel fully supported and valued for all they bring to the organisation.
SWCC aims to provide a professional focus and resource for faith communities in the area to establish new and innovative ways of helping participants address their offending behaviour. We do this by providing a network of support that can challenge and promote a positive attitude to change. This role (in conjunction with the chaplains) would fully explore church networks across the area as a potential source for volunteers. Utilising our training resources, we can offer to upskill congregations in safeguarding and also identify possible safe communities for our clients to be able to join.
There is an occupational requirement for applicants to actively embrace the faith ethos and values of SWCC and the successful applicant will have the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people. Some occasional weekend work will be involved.

Position
We are looking for a proactive and organised Individual Fundraising Coordinator to support the delivery of our individual giving and digital fundraising programme during a maternity cover period.
In this role, you will contribute to donor stewardship, digital fundraising campaigns, and supporter communications, helping to ensure a high-quality and consistent experience for Lumos supporters.
You will also support the delivery of prize draw campaigns, coordinating timelines, communications, and activities across internal teams and external partners. This includes supporting campaign setup, communications, and operational delivery to ensure campaigns run smoothly and effectively.
Working closely with Fundraising, Marketing & Communications, and Operations teams, you will play a key role in maintaining momentum across campaigns and day-to-day fundraising activity.
Key responsibilities include:
· Supporting donor stewardship activities, including communications and newsletters
· Coordinating digital fundraising campaigns, including the end-of-year appeal
· Supporting the delivery of prize draw campaigns, including coordination with partners and internal teams
· Drafting and editing fundraising content for email and digital channels
· Supporting campaign setup, testing, and performance tracking
· Assisting with fundraising operations, including CRM-related tasks and data management
Requirements
Essential:
· Strong written communication and copywriting skills
· Excellent organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
· Strong attention to detail
· Experience in a fundraising, marketing or communications role
· Experience supporting campaigns or projects involving multiple stakeholders
· Ability to work collaboratively and independently within a structured environment
Desirable:
· Experience in individual giving or digital fundraising
· Familiarity with CRM or email marketing platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Pardot/MCAE)

This is a grant funded role, fixed term for two years, with the opportunity for conversion to a permanent role should funding allow.
Main Purpose of the Role:
To provide proactive, emotional, and practical support to families and individuals affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) across Scotland. The role will focus on early engagement, wellbeing assessment, community building, and delivery of workshops and events, while ensuring accurate tracking of support outcomes and data.
The successful candidate will also lead on support for young people living with Duchenne during 2 key transition points (primary to secondary school stage and moving into adulthood). They will work closely with the England-based Transitions Coordinator to deliver a joined-up programme of support across the UK.
Specific Tasks:
1. Proactive Family Support
2. Transitions Support
· Lead transition support across all nations, with a focus on Scotland, for children and young people facing key life changes, including:
· Moving between educational settings such as primary to secondary
· Transitioning from paediatric to adult health services
· Changes in mobility and independence (e.g. transitioning to using powerchairs)
· You will lead, but expected to work collaboratively with the England-based Transition Coordinator to ensure consistency and continuity of support across the UK
· Develop resources, guidance, and workshops to support families through transitions
3. Wellbeing Tracking and Outcome Measurement
· Administer wellbeing questionnaires and record scores across key domains (e.g. physical health, emotional wellbeing, financial security)
· Collaborate with families to co-create action plans and track progress
· Ensure all data is entered into CRM (E-Tapestry or similar) within the allotted timeframe, i.e. immediately after or during the call.
4. Community Engagement and Event Delivery
· Organise and deliver regional meetups (minimum one per quarter)
· Facilitate support groups (virtual and in-person) for parents, young people, and extended family
· Support delivery of workshops and events aligned with programme schedule (e.g. music, life skills, employability)
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
· Liaise with external organisations including NHS care advisors and clinics, local authorities, counselling services, and other charities
· Represent Action Duchenne in Scotland and build relationships with local networks
6. Administration and Reporting
· Maintain accurate records of all interactions and support provided
· Contribute to quarterly reporting on activity delivery, capacity utilisation, and family impact
· Support development of CRM processes and service delivery improvements
7. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
· New contact acknowledgement email: within 3 working days
· New contact follow-up call: within 7–10 working days
· Families contacted per week: 12–15 hours of direct contact
· Regional meetups: 1 per quarter
