Help shape the future of hospital, health and wellbeing broadcasting across the UK.
The Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) is seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. This is an opportunity to use your financial skills and strategic insight to support a national charity that helps more than 140 hospital, health and wellbeing broadcasting organisations develop, collaborate and thrive.
What you'll do
As Treasurer, you will work closely with fellow Trustees to oversee the charity's finances and support effective decision-making. Responsibilities include:
About you
We're looking for someone who:
Previous charity trustee experience is welcome but not essential, and we encourage applications from people with transferable financial expertise gained in the private, public or voluntary sectors.
Trustee responsibilities
As a Trustee, you will share collective responsibility for the governance, financial sustainability and strategic direction of the HBA.
The HBA is an entirely volunteer-led charity with no paid staff. As a result, our Board operates as a working Board, with Trustees contributing not only to governance and decision-making but also, where appropriate, to the delivery of the charity's objectives. This may include supporting projects, overseeing volunteer teams, working with external stakeholders and providing professional expertise in your area of knowledge.
We're looking for someone who is comfortable balancing strategic oversight with practical involvement in the organisation and who wants to play an active role in helping the charity grow and succeed.
Meetings and commitment
The time commitment is approximately 4 hours per week on average, with some busier periods throughout the year.
The Trustee Board meets formally, in-person, every two months, usually on the third Saturday, with informal catch-up meetings taking place via Microsoft Teams on a weekday evening in the intervening months.
Location and travel
This role can be carried out from anywhere in the UK, with most Board business conducted online.
Trustees are expected to attend Board meetings and may occasionally be asked to attend sector events, including the HBA Annual Conference and Awards, meetings with stakeholders and visits to member organisations.
Reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses incurred while carrying out Trustee duties will be reimbursed in line with the Association's expenses policy.
Please note that we are not actively interviewing for this role at present. However, we reserve the right to close applications early should we receive a high volume of suitable applications.

Having celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2022, we are committed to building on the vision that began with the Coppergate excavation in York and the opening of the internationally renowned JORVIK Viking Centre, and to harnessing archaeology for educational and public benefit. Engaging with more than 1.2 million people annually, and with centres of archaeology and conservation in York and Nottingham we work throughout the UK and internationally providing leading-edge field investigation, analysis and connecting communities with their past.
We are keen to hear from those who can offer expertise and experience in strategic financial management. With succession planning in mind for the role of Chair of our Finance and Audit Committee, we are seeking a candidate with considerable professional financial expertise, ideally underpinned with a formal first-tier accounting qualification, proven commercial acumen and strong leadership skills to scrutinise, challenge and oversee the entirety of the Trust’s finances. Whilst a formal accountancy qualification is desirable, we will also consider candidates who have had substantial experience of corporate or charity governance, financial analysis and scrutiny at a strategic level.
Business experience of the charity sector from either an employed or voluntary capacity would also be an advantage.
Trustees are appointed for a three-year term, renewable to a maximum of nine years. The role includes a commitment to attend four board meetings per year and the Annual General Meeting. Trustees are also expected to contribute some additional time to sub-committees and/or Steering Groups in line with their interests and expertise. Trustees are not remunerated, but we can cover reasonable travel and accommodation expenses.
The closing date for applications is Friday 28th August 2026, and we expect interviews for short-listed candidates to be held in the second half of September 2026.

COMMUNITY MANAGER & SQUAD LEADER (The Heart of SUNSHINE) - VOLUNTEER ROLE
The Spark: Why We Need You
London is one of the most vibrant, fast-paced cities on Earth. Yet underneath the noise, it is facing a quiet crisis. In boroughs like Tower Hamlets, nearly 40% of our neighbors report feeling chronically lonely and isolated. For many, urban isolation is a heavy, daily reality.
We are SUNSHINE, and we are here to smash that isolation with pure, unadulterated, radical positivity!
We don't do boring, clinical forms or awkward networking. Instead, we take over inner London’s public and unused spaces with high-vibrancy pop-ups—bringing bright neon t-shirts, upbeat music, handmade positive quote cards, and literal bubble machines directly to the pavement to turn strangers into neighbours.
We have the vision, the gear, and the strategic roadmap locked down. Now, we need our ultimate host. We need a warm, empathetic, and naturally bubbly Community Manager to nurture our digital group chats, welcome new participants, and lead the squad on the ground!
Your Mission: What You’ll Do
As our founding Community Manager, you will be the bridge between our online spaces and our real-world hangouts. You will be the very heart of the SUNSHINE experience, working to:
Who You Are (The Perfect Fit)
You do not need a degree in public relations or corporate hospitality.
We are looking for a human who is:
Why Lead With Us?
Ready to Bring the Sunshine Back to London?
Let’s paint the town yellow together.
To Apply: Please send a brief introductory note and a link to your LinkedIn profile or CV directly through CharityJob. Tell us a little bit about your community background and why you want to be the welcoming face of SUNSHINE!

We are looking for team members who can commit for a minimum of 10 weeks, with adaptable profiles and who have the enthusiasm and energy we need to provide support in various areas across the organisation.
In this generalist role, you will find yourself responsible for a variety of tasks, helping to ensure that both our programme activities and day-to-day operations run smoothly. Second Tree works in a transparent way, in a challenging and changeable situation in the field; therefore, an ability to learn quickly and be open to feedback is vital.
Your role would include:
The possible tasks included below are not exhaustive or rigidly defined; an exact role profile is dependent on the skill set of individual applicants. An average day might see you talking to students in a camp to tell them about a new class, or supporting the writing of a grant proposal. Tasks could loosely fall within 4 key areas:
Programmes
Supporting programme coordinators in maintaining the day to day running of their activities with the Youth or Adult Education Programmes
Supporting our children’s teachers or workshop facilitators in the planning or delivery of classes or excursions outside of camps
Communicating key messages about our programmes to our students in camps
Admin, Finance & Logistics
Supporting our management team in liaising with external partners
Maintaining organisation-wide financial processes
Coordinating the arrival and housing of incoming team members
Grants & Partnerships
Supporting in the identification of relevant grants
Supporting in grant writing activities

Developing social media strategies to expand our reach and impact
Producing regular reports on performance
Maintaining our website
Supporting the planning and implementation of Second Tree’s fundraising initiatives, such as campaigns
Organising and maintaining regular communications with Second Tree’s donors (newsletters, thank you letters)
You should be able to:
Be accountable and efficient, making sure that tasks that you take up are completed on the agreed timeframe
Be honest and transparent, being able to give and receive feedback in the most straightforward way possible
Care for people; the interests of the people we work with should always be your first concern
Instil the values above in the people that work with you
Have keen problem-solving abilities, and a good understanding of what questions to ask, and when
Communicate in English, both written and orally
Learn quickly, managing a wide-ranging and intense workload
What do we offer?
A nurturing and collaborative working environment. We work hard to help our team members grow; investing in personal and professional development.
Accommodation in a shared house
Transportation to/from work
After completion of a three-month trial, if you commit long-term, a small monthly expenses refund
In certain periods of the year, demand is extremely high, and the shared houses might be full. If you have the means to pay for your own accommodation, please let us know. We would still be happy to host you if space is available. However, in a situation where the shared houses are full, this would allow us to offer an opportunity to someone that cannot afford to pay rent.
Looking for an internship?
If, because of your degree or for any other reason, you would like to have your period at Second Tree credited as an internship, just apply to the vacancy that you’re interested in and mention this. We have agreements with several universities across Europe, and in many other cases, these agreements can be developed on an ad hoc basis.

You will work closely with the trustees and operational colleagues to help shape strategy, strengthen partnerships, and ensure the charity remains compliant, resilient, and focused on its mission. You will also play a key role in strengthening the charity’s governance and fundraising, which in turn enables the therapeutic delivery carried out by our specialist partner.
A supportive handover will be provided to ensure a smooth and confident transition into the role.
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who brings:
Warmth, clarity and good judgement, with a balanced, proportionate approach to governance.
A genuine commitment to improving the lives of adopted, fostered and kinship care children and an understanding of the challenges faced by families affected by early trauma.
Confidence in chairing discussions, helping the Board reach clear, well‑considered decisions.
An understanding of good governance, including risk, safeguarding and compliance (or a willingness to learn).
The ability to work collaboratively with trustees and our small operational support team, offering encouragement and constructive challenge while supporting the charity’s governance and fundraising role, which enables the specialist delivery work carried out by our partner.
Strategic thinking, with the ability to help shape the charity’s direction and ensure long‑term sustainability.
Reliability, integrity and a calm, steady approach, keeping the charity’s purpose at the centre of decision‑making.
Meets the eligibility requirements to serve as a charity trustee, as set out by the Charity Commission.
Helpful but not essential:
Experience of chairing a board or committee
Experience in charity governance, education, social care, therapeutic work, or community leadership would be helpful, but we are open to a wide range of backgrounds.
Lived or professional experience related to adoption, fostering, trauma or family support.
What We Offer
A warm, committed Board, small operational support team and group of volunteers who work collaboratively and value clear communication.
A meaningful opportunity to shape the future of a small but growing charity with a strong reputation for high‑quality, trauma‑informed support.
Flexible time commitments that fit around work and family life.
A chance to make a tangible difference to adopted, fostered and kinship-care children and young people, and the families who care for them.

The Swadhinata Trust is embarking on a journey of significant growth and transformation. Having recently refreshed our purpose, mission, and brand, we are now ready for our next big leap: transitioning from a grassroots volunteer organisation to a scalable charity with paid staff and expanded reach.

OOEF is a small, fast-growing charity and we need people to help us run it well. You can do this on-site with us — in which case you will the magic in action — or remotely, or a mixture of both. Volunteer scheduling, communications, grant applications, impact reporting, events, partnerships... or whatever else you spot needs doing and are motivated to get involved with. No music background needed. We are looking for someone organised, reliable and genuinely interested in what we do.
About the role
Orchestra of Everything Foundation (OOEF) delivers free, immersive music education to around 250 children aged 7–11 at two Bath primary schools in Twerton and Whiteway — nationally ranked deprived communities. Our impact is off the scale: school leaders tell us that 86% of children show improved attitudes to learning across all subjects, and we have been instrumental in a 39% reduction in pupil suspensions. Our work has caught the attention of the Department for Education, and Bath Spa University now incorporates our model into teacher training.
As an Operations & Admin Volunteer you might focus on one area or help across several, depending on your skills and availability: volunteer scheduling, communications, grant applications, impact reporting, events and partnerships. This role can be shaped entirely around you. If you want to be on-site — watching sessions, being part of the team, seeing the impact first-hand — we would love that. Volunteers who come in consistently tell us it is the most motivating thing about the work. But if remote or flexible working suits you better, that works too.
What you'll bring
• Organisational ability and initiative — keeping multiple things moving without always being asked
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Comfort with email and shared documents
• Any of the following are a real bonus: bookkeeping, design, research, fundraising, project management, web skills
Time commitment
The time commitment is flexible and entirely negotiable — from a couple of hours per month to something more regular. Some volunteers come via employer volunteering schemes on a rota (companies and organisations are very welcome); others commit as individuals on an ad hoc basis; others come as students fitting volunteering around their studies. We will shape the arrangement entirely around your availability.
What you'll get from it
• Real insight into how a values-driven music charity operates at a pivotal moment in its growth
• Close working with the founding team on work that genuinely matters
• If you come on-site: the chance to see the direct impact of what you do
• We welcome pro bono contributions from companies supporting employee volunteering
• DBS check arranged and funded by OOEF (if working on-site)
