It’s an exciting time to join Victim Support, as we prepare to begin delivery of the Witness Service from April 2026. We look forward to welcoming current Witness Service staff and volunteers to Victim Support — and we’re also now beginning recruitment for several new roles and to fill vacant positions.  

The Witness Service provides free, independent support to any witness giving evidence in criminal courts in England and Wales — both for the prosecution and the defence.  

Our trained staff and volunteers help people understand what to expect before, during and after a trial, and offer practical and emotional support every step of the way, so witnesses can give their best evidence.   

The Witness Service also supports bereaved family members, and friends and family who are accompanying witnesses in court.

Witness Service Outreach Volunteers provide support to witnesses when they are attending court, as well as pre-trial and post-trial helping them to feel safe and informed. You will provide support to both prosecution and defence witnesses.

What do we ask of you? 

In order to join us as a Witness Service Volunteer, you must: 

• Be 18 years of age or over. 

• Be able to volunteer for at least 1 day per week, for at least 12 months. 

• Undertake training – this includes virtual training days as well as completing online learning modules. 

• Undertake an Enhanced DBS with Child Barred List check & be part of the DBS Update Service.

• Be able to provide two satisfactory references. 

• Have an active email address that you are comfortable using in order to engage with VS communications.

JOB PURPOSE:

This Role Transforms Volunteer Activity Into Structured, Ethical, High-Impact Operations

At Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C., our work is powered by people. Volunteer contribution is not just support, it is community, capacity and impact. The Volunteer Operations Analyst ensures that this contribution is organised, visible and aligned with the organisation’s mission, safeguarding responsibilities and growth.

You will play a key role in connecting people, systems and structure—ensuring that volunteer engagement is consistent, well-managed and sustainable as the C.I.C grows.

This is not a purely administrative role. It is insight-driven, systems-focused and central to how the organisation operates effectively behind the scenes.

Role Summary

The Operations Analyst is responsible for measuring, analyzing, and optimizing the organization’s
internal operations to improve efficiency, accountability, and overall performance. This role focuses on operational systems development, process evaluation, workflow optimization, and organizational effectiveness, enabling leadership to make informed decisions and ensuring that the organization’s activities are structured, scalable, and effective.

While analytical skills are essential, this is not a traditional Data Analyst role. The emphasis is on understanding how systems, teams, and workflows function, and using insight to design and improve operational structures, not just analyze datasets.

The Operations Analyst does not execute or enforce tasks, but plays a critical role in diagnosing
operational challenges and recommending actionable, system-level solutions.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in:

• Google Sheets / Microsoft Excel
• Data tracking and reporting tools
• Ability to organize and interpret large sets of data

Analytical Skills

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking ability

1. Data Tracking & Performance Monitoring

• Develop and maintain centralized tracking systems (e.g., Google Sheets, Airtable) to support operational visibility
• Monitor key operational metrics across departments, including:
  • Volunteer recruitment and onboarding timelines
  • Task completion rates across teams
  • Program and project delivery timelines
• Ensure data is accurate, relevant, and structured to inform operational decisions (not just reporting)

2. Reporting & Operational Insights

• Prepare weekly or bi-weekly operational reports for leadership
• Go beyond reporting by clearly highlighting:
  • Root causes of inefficiencies
  • System and workflow gaps
  • Operational risks
• Translate data and observations into clear, actionable, system-focused recommendations

3. Process Analysis & Workflow Design

• Document and map existing workflows across functions (HR, Programs, Operations, etc.)
• Analyze how work actually flows across teams—not just what is recorded in data
• Identify bottlenecks

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
● Work closely with:
○ HR Team (for recruitment and onboarding systems)

○ Operations Coordinators / Executive Assistants (for execution visibility)
● Bridge the gap between how work is designed and how it is executed

SCOPE AND BOUNDARIES FOR THE ROLE:
To ensure clarity and proper role alignment:

• Analyze workflows, systems, and operational performance
• Design and recommend process and system improvements
• Provide structured insights that inform operational decisions
• Function as a Data Analyst focused solely on datasets and reporting
• Be limited to producing reports without contributing to process improvement and system design
• Manage or supervise team members
• Enforce task completion or handle administrative coordination

WORKING RELATIONSHIP:
The Operations Analyst will:

• Report directly to the Director of Central Operations & Executive Coordination
• Support decision-making but will not replace leadership authority
• Work collaboratively across all teams while maintaining objectivity and independence

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
Success in this role will be measured by:

• Quality and impact of operational insights and recommendations
• Measurable improvements in workflow efficiency and system effectiveness
• Reduction in process bottlenecks and delays
• Clarity and usability of operational tracking systems
• Contribution to scalable and well-structured operational processes

What Success Looks Like in This Role:
Within the first 60–90 days, the Operations Analyst should:

• Establish a functional and structured operations tracking system
• Deliver insight-driven reports that highlight system-level issues (not just data summaries)
• Identify and recommend improvements to at least 2–3 key operational workflows
• Provide leadership with clear visibility into how operations actually function and where improvements are needed

• This is a strategic operations role, not a purely analytical or reporting position
• Ideal for individuals who are passionate about:

Important to be clear:

• This is a volunteer role during the CIC’s build phase
• It carries real responsibility for data integrity and donor relations

Formal qualifications are not required, but desirable.
Essential equivalent experience mandatory.

Samaritans is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Fundraising Events Admin Volunteer to support our busy Community and Events Team. Your support will help us raise the vital funds needed to ensure people can access emotional support whenever they need it most.

What is the role?

As a Fundraising Events Admin Volunteer, you will play a key role in helping our team focus on delivering successful fundraising events and supporting our incredible fundraisers. From managing enquiries to sending out fundraising materials, you’ll help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in events, fundraising, marketing, and supporter stewardship while making a meaningful difference.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

• Experience volunteering within a busy events team within a large UK charity.

As a maintenance (handyman) volunteer at SeeAbility, you will support the facility in maintaining a safe, functional, and pleasant environment for people we support and our teams.

This position requires a reliable, skilled, and proactive individual who can carry out general maintenance tasks and assist with small repairs around the property. Your efforts will directly contribute to the well-being of the people we support and ensure that the home remains a comfortable and secure place for all.

Skills Required 

•   Perform general maintenance and minor repairs to the building and facilities, including but not limited to:  carpentry, painting, decorating and repairing

• Assist with the installation of furniture, fixtures, or equipment, ensuring they meet safety standards.

• Ensure that all tools and materials are properly maintained and stored safely.

• Help identify potential maintenance issues before they become problems.

• Report more complex repairs or safety concerns to the Facility Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.

• Support the care home during renovation or redecoration projects.

• Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff to ensure the upkeep of the home.

• Volunteers will not be asked to carry out any electrical or plumbing works

• Adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring all tasks are completed with care and in compliance with regulations

For many children and young people living in foster care can be unsettling. You can make a difference by volunteering as an Independent Visitor. 

We are looking for fun, reliable, and pro-active volunteers from all different cultures, backgrounds and experiences who have a genuine interest in making a difference to the lives of children and young people. 

You will decide with your young person what to do, but activities could include going to the cinema, bowling, playing football, going to a restaurant, riding a bike, or walking in a park. We will match you with a child you share common interests with. 

You do not need experience of working with children and young people, just an interest in their development and welfare. Full training and support are provided 

Here’s a few of the young people we have waiting for a volunteer: 

• Amy (12) lives with an older carer, she would like an active Independent Visitor who can do sports with her. 

• Brad (13) lives in residential care with other young people, he doesn’t have anyone in his family visit. He would like an Independent Visitor to take him out and have fun, like the other young people. 

• Cassie (16) lives with carers in a new town, she doesn’t have any friends in the area yet. She would like an Independent Visitor to help with her confidence and going out in the local area, she loves hot chocolate and cake. 

• Danny (11) lives with foster carers and attends a special school. He would like an Independent Visitor to help him be more independent, he likes parks, aeroplanes, and animals. 

• Emma (9) lives with her carer in a very busy household, she would like an Independent Visitor to spend some time with her on her own trying different activities together.

The Application 

• Volunteering mainly happens at weekends and after school hours as the young people are usually in school during the daytime 

• The role requires commitment of at least 24 months with one visit per month; this ensures stability for the Child or Young Person

Relevant Person’s Representative (RPR) Support Volunteer

People in care homes should have a voice to communicate their needs wishes and wants. Some people need support with this, but don’t have friends and family available to assist them.  This means they’re entitled to have support from an RPR and volunteer, who are there to make sure they get the care they deserve.  Your role as an RPR Support Volunteer is to collaborate with the VoiceAbility RPR to make sure a person’s views are listened to when decisions are made about their care. 

As an RPR Support Volunteer you might: 

• Visit people in their care home, to make sure they’re getting the right care and support
• Talk with them about their feelings, thoughts and wishes
• Raise concerns
• Keep detailed notes and records
• Make a real difference to someone’s life 

All volunteering will take place Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00.  You will need to be over 18 years old and be living in the UK. Please note that there is no opportunity to volunteer at weekends or in the evening.

The Application

Why we want you

As branch chair you and your branch members will create a range of activities to help spread the word about SSAFA within your community. To ensure that our Armed Forces community know that SSAFA are here to help and that we need the public’s support to continue offering our services.

What you will be doing

• Overseeing an appropriate programme of awareness raising activities so that potential beneficiaries, volunteers and supporters are aware of SSAFA as first in mind for support.
• Building relationships with the regional and national SSAFA team, local voluntary organisations and, if applicable, SSAFA serving community teams, local military establishments, etc.
• Attending events as a key SSAFA representative.
• Providing timely reports and information to SSAFA’s central office
• Overseeing a programme of meetings including an AGM, branch meetings, committee meetings, training etc.
• Working with other volunteers, regional and national team members to attract and recruit new volunteers as required.
• Work closely with the community engagement co-ordinator to recruit, welcome, induct, support, and manage volunteers in line with SSAFA policies, such as the Volunteering Policy, Volunteer Code of Conduct, Data Protection Policy, and Safeguarding Policy.

Our Independent Visitor Service is looking for volunteers in or near to Stourbridge.

For many children and young people living in foster care can be unsettling. You can make a difference by volunteering as an Independent Visitor. 

We are looking for fun, reliable, and pro-active volunteers from all different cultures, backgrounds and experiences who have a genuine interest in making a difference to the lives of children and young people. 

You will decide with your young person what to do, but activities could include going to the cinema, bowling, playing football, going to a restaurant, riding a bike, or walking in a park. We will match you with a child you share common interests with. 

You do not need experience of working with children and young people, just an interest in their development and welfare. Full training and support are provided 

Here’s a few of the young people we have waiting for a volunteer: 

• Amy (12) lives with an older carer, she would like an active Independent Visitor who can do sports with her. 

• Brad (13) lives in residential care with other young people, he doesn’t have anyone in his family visit. He would like an Independent Visitor to take him out and have fun, like the other young people. 

• Cassie (16) lives with carers in a new town, she doesn’t have any friends in the area yet. She would like an Independent Visitor to help with her confidence and going out in the local area, she loves hot chocolate and cake. 

• Danny (11) lives with foster carers and attends a special school. He would like an Independent Visitor to help him be more independent, he likes parks, aeroplanes, and animals.
