East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are seeking experienced teachers and educational facilitators to lead workshops and deliver engaging environmental education sessions to children and young people. Sessions may take place at schools or around the perimeter of the site we want to transform into East London Waterworks Park.
This role would include:
- Leading hands-on outdoor learning workshops
- Delivering nature-based activities to school groups
- Supporting the creation of ELWP’s Under 18s volunteering policy
- Supporting outreach efforts to promote ELWP’s existing learning programmes

The Learning Circle currently meets monthly on a Wednesday evening at 8pm for an hour on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely
You should be an experienced teacher, educational consultant, forest school leader, training and development specialist, learning designer, facilitator or any other kind of role creating learning projects, programmes and experiences. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role.
Your support will help young people and learners improve their environmental knowledge of design and research as well as contributing to our community-owned park. This will in turn provide a sense of stewardship over the land once the park is created and student's ideas have been built into the park. Creating learning projects with educational institutions will also help our charity with the strategy to buy the land through showing the value of our environmental education programme before we create the park.
You will have a significant impact on the creation of a new biodiverse community-owned park with free access natural swimming ponds. By volunteering in this role, you will help shape the future of East London Waterworks Park as a community-led environmental learning space. Are you a Child and Young Person Clinical Supervisor interested in supporting child and young person counsellors and therapists?
Burning Nights CRPS Support has a highly skilled counselling and therapy team who provide counselling and psychotherapy to adults and children who have been impacted by a debilitating pain condition, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). This team is expanding rapidly and we are now looking for 1 volunteer Child and Young Person (CYP) Clinical Supervisor to join this team ensuring we can continue the provision of our vital emotional support services to this community specifically for young people. We would ideally like to take on 1 CYP Clinical Supervisor supporting a small group of CYP therapists who specialise in a range of modalities.
All our Counselling and therapy team help to develop our growing mental health support service for patients, families and carers affected by Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). As a volunteer with the CRPS Counselling & Therapy Service, your skills and experience as a CYP Clinical Supervisor will be providing support to therapists who offer therapy to vulnerable children and young people aged 5-18.
Depending on your qualifications, skills and experience, you will provide group and 1-2-1 Supervision support for CYP counsellors or psychotherapists who provide counselling support or specialist services for children and young people. The service currently offers specialist support to anyone over the age of 5 who is affected by CRPS.
Key Tasks and Objectives

Facilitate Clinical Supervision group sessions on a monthly basis (online) and be able to offer at least 1 or 2 supervisees on 1-2-1 basis mainly trainees

Administer this supervision from invitation through to record keeping

Take part in complex case allocation meetings with the Clinical Lead

Maintain appropriate clinical records of all work and to report, along with any concerns on individuals or their practice to the Clinical Lead

Commitment to ongoing supervision of supervision practice at Burning Nights CRPS Support as well as engaging in separate own personal supervision

Work flexibly as part of a small team as necessary to provide maximum coverage for supervision, such as in the event of emergencies

Abide by all Burning Nights CRPS Support policies and procedures

Adhere to BACP, BABCP (or other appropriate therapies governing body) Ethical Framework
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Essential:

Psychotherapy/Counselling qualification with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a similar field

Qualification in Clinical Supervision - ideally level 7 or above (could also suit experienced counsellors who require a placement during Clinical Supervision placement, or experienced counsellors wishing to gain experience in supervision)

Had experience of supervising CYP therapists

Accreditation/registration (or working at the level of or towards this qualification) as a Supervisor with BACP/HCPC/BABCP or equivalent

Significant proven experience of supervising individual CYP counsellors/psychotherapists from a range of training backgrounds

Appropriate and proven clinical experience of working with young people with a range of difficulties including complex medical health issues, loss and bereavement. Ideally experience of working with children and young people living with or affected by chronic pain or chronic conditions

Willingness to engage in any Burning Nights CRPS Support training

Understanding of issues regarding confidentiality and management of risk within a counselling service

Join our Friday morning gardening group as a Co-Lead and be part of something truly special.
During the growing season, students from a specialist SEND school visit our vibrant Victorian-style kitchen garden each week to plant, water, and harvest fresh fruit and vegetables. Bringing your gardening knowledge and practical skills, you’ll work alongside a staff member who specialises in supporting SEND pupils. Together, you’ll lead a friendly team of around eight volunteers who support the group each Friday.
Experience working with teens with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) is wonderful but not essential. You’ll be supported by skilled carers and HLC staff, and you’ll gain valuable experience along the way.
What to expect
Sessions run on Friday mornings during term time (April–July and September–October). You’ll help prepare activities, brief volunteers, welcome students, and pair them with one-to-one support for the session.
You may work directly with a participant or oversee the wider group — and, of course, hand out the all-important biscuits at break time! At the end of each session, you’ll lead the tidy-up, support a short debrief with students and volunteers, and share key updates and photos with the volunteer team to keep everyone informed and motivated.
You’ll play an important role in helping participants work towards meaningful goals, such as following instructions, managing transitions, and developing fine motor skills.
What we’re looking for
You’re patient, kind, and empathetic, especially when working with people with learning needs and disabilities. You’re reliable, flexible, and eager to learn.

Help shape a new, parent-powered movement for positive change in primary schools
MFS supports parents/carers and schools to take early, constructive action to prevent harmful gender norms and misogyny, by building parent networks, supporting school engagement, creating practical resources, and amplifying real stories of change.

1: Community & Communications Lead
Purpose of role: You will create and guide a Whatsapp community for parents, raise the profile and manage MFS’s voice online through storytelling and social media
Skills/experience helpful: Communications, campaigns, community organising, digital engagement, social media including analytics and metrics, compelling writing, storytelling, content creation, canva (or other tools)
What you’ll do: Build and moderate the parent WhatsApp community, develop and deliver communications strategy, shape narrative, tone, voice and messaging, help grow an engaged parent network
2: Web & Digital Builder (short term)
Purpose of role: You will co-design and build the MFS website including the parent and school resource hub
Skills/experience helpful: Web design, no-code platforms (e.g. Squarespace/Wix), UX, digital project setup, website performance tracking, knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations
What you’ll do: Create an impactful and easily navigable website for parents and schools, organise information and link resources, support the digital infrastructure of the campaign, train up team members to add and adapt content
3: Education Specialist
Purpose of role: You will create tools and support the MFS community on engagement with schools and LEAs
Skills/experience helpful: Education, safeguarding, creating tools, curriculum, school engagement, education policy, experience with LEAs, trusts, ofsted etc
What you’ll do: Identify and curate age-appropriate resources, shape school-facing content, support parents outreach to primary schools, ensure approaches are constructive, supportive and practical
4: Research & Policy
Purpose of role: You will build our evidence base, translate research and policy into accessible insights and actions, position MFS as a credible, evidence-led voice
Skills/experience helpful: Equality, safeguarding, wellbeing, or education policy, ability to synthesize and translate complex research and policy into accessible language
What you’ll do: Build and maintain MFS evidence base, track key UK research and policy developments and produce accessible briefings, inform campaign and strategy with evidence and policy insight

What will you be doing?
As governor, trustee and director, you will have an active role in setting strategic direction and overseeing the educational performance, management and financial health of the school and the charity.

“Solta o Jogo” is an exciting cultural competition and community festival celebrating Brazilian traditions through Capoeira, music, dance, and acrobatics. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, this event offers free taster classes, performances, and a vibrant Brazilian arts & products fair—engaging local communities and encouraging cross-cultural learning.
We are looking for a Programme Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of the event. This hybrid volunteering role requires a commitment of 12 hours per week for 6 months. It is best suited for someone based near Kingston, as travel expenses will be reimbursed. This is a great opportunity to lead a high-profile community initiative that has previously been praised by local councillors, Kingston University, and the Brazilian Consulate in London.
Position Overview:
The Programme Manager oversees the strategic delivery of a multi-project programme focused on enhancing employability and skills development for target populations. This role ensures alignment with organisational and community goals, driving initiatives that reduce skills gaps, improve workforce readiness, and foster partnerships with employers and training providers. Reporting to the Programme Director, the Programme Manager manages a team of project specialists and coordinators, ensuring seamless execution of programme activities and measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities:

Programme Leadership:

Lead the end-to-end employability and skills development programme delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

Mentor and manage project specialists and coordinators, assigning tasks tied to programme milestones such as training workshops, employer partnerships, and participant assessments.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Build and maintain relationships with employers, educational institutions, government agencies, and community organisations to align programme outcomes with labour market needs.

Act as the primary point of contact for external partners, ensuring their requirements (e.g., hiring criteria, certification standards) are integrated into programme design.

Programme Design & Delivery:

Oversee the development of training curricula, mentorship initiatives, and job placement strategies tailored to diverse participant groups (e.g., youth, career changers).

Monitor participant progress and employment outcomes, using data to refine programme effectiveness.

Risk & Compliance Management:

Identify barriers to participant success (e.g., accessibility, resource gaps) and escalate systemic challenges to the Programme Manager with actionable solutions.

Track and report on key metrics such as participant engagement, skill acquisition rates, and post-programme employment status.

Prepare updates for senior leadership and stakeholders to demonstrate programme impact.

Promote best practices in adult education, vocational training, and equity-focused initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Human Resources, or a related field.

Experience:

3–5 years managing employability, workforce development, or adult education programmes.

Proven experience leading teams and collaborating with cross-sector stakeholders.

Skills:

Strong understanding of labour market trends and barriers to employment.

Ability to design inclusive, participant-centric programmes.

Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, CRM systems) and project management software.

We’re looking for a Treasurer who wants to join our friendly and committed Board of Trustees to support and develop the work of Maa Shanti.
About Maa Shanti
We offer practical support, advocacy, emotional support, and activities tailored to the needs of South Asian mothers. Services are available in person, online, or in a blended format, and the team speaks Bengali, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi to ensure culturally sensitive engagement.
What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities:
- To oversee, approve and present all yearly budgets, quarterly and annual accounts and other relevant financial statements.
- Review budgets, accounts, and financial statements in advance of Board meetings.
- Present regular reports on the organisation's financial position.
- Advise fellow Trustees on a regular basis of the financial status of the charity, and where necessary, recommend action.
- Ensure the charity complies with legislative and regulatory requirements with regards to financial matters.
- Maintain sound financial management of the charity’s resources, ensuring expenditure is in line with the agreed budget and investment activities meet accepted standards and policies.
Time Commitment
- Quarterly Board meetings (which are currently held online).
- 2 away days a year. In addition to Board meetings, there will be some ad hoc work support required in between meetings.
- Overall estimated time commitment is 1 day a month.
- Remote/hybrid working offered if needed.
What are we looking for?
You do not need previous governance experience to join the board. We will provide an induction an ongoing support.
Skills and experience:
- Practicing finance professional (i.e. Accountant, Finance Manager, Finance Director).
- Ideally you will have charity finance experience.
- Ability to communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board.
- Willingness and ability to understand and accept their responsibilities and liabilities as trustees and to act in the best interests of the organisation.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically, exercise good, independent judgement and work effectively as a board member.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to participate actively in discussion.
- Enthusiasm for the work of Maa Shanti.

As a Trustee, you will play a crucial role in the governance and strategic oversight of the charity, ensuring that we operate effectively, achieve our mission, and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements. Trustees are collectively responsible for safeguarding the charity’s assets, ensuring they are used exclusively to further our objectives, and overseeing the charity’s financial health, including budgets, financial controls, and reporting. Acting with integrity and in the charity’s best interests is at the heart of the role.
The Treasurer oversees the financial affairs of the charity and ensures that they are conducted legally, transparently, and in line with the charity’s governing document. Working closely with the Chair, Managing Director, Trustees, and any staff or volunteers, the Treasurer helps safeguard the charity’s financial sustainability.
