About the role
As the Fire & Building Safety Manager, you'll ensure that fire safety responsibilities across the organisation are fully understood and properly executed. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and maintaining a fire safety culture that minimises risk and guarantees that no fire risk assessments are overdue. You will inspire your colleagues and lead the Fire Safety Assessors & Project Manager, ensuring compliance and safety standards are always met, and that necessary remedial work is promptly addressed. By ensuring customer safety and fire management is proactive, you'll play a key part in safeguarding their residents and assets.
This is an exciting role as you'll manage a national portfolio, including high rise residential properties, ensuring they're safe for their customers. As the landscape of Fire & Building Safety is evolving - as their Fire & Building Safety Manager you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of this service and make continuous improvements ensuring that they're keeping abreast of change and in line with legislation.
Salary
The spot salary for this post is £57,211 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. Applicants, who do not meet all the requirements of the post, will start 5% or 10% below the spot salary.
About you
As a Fire & Building Safety Manager you'll have:
• NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety & Risk Management or equivalent fire risk assessment qualification.
• Proven experience managing fire safety programs and delivering Fire Risk Assessments.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team and driving performance improvements in fire safety.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of collaborating across departments.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.

1st stage interview will take place on 1st May. Successful candidates will be required to complete a Congruity questionnaire to complete prior to 2nd stage interviews.
2nd stage interviews will take place on 9th May via Teams.

We have an opportunity for a Public Affairs and Campaigns Manager (Scotland) to join our team and help shape and carry out Poppyscotland and RBLs public affairs and campaigning activities in Scotland.
Joining us at a busy time, you will grow and manage our campaign activities locally in Scotland, delivering our political engagement for the next Scottish Parliament election and advising colleagues both in Poppyscotland and RBL on political developments.
RBLs Campaigns, Policy, and Research (CPR) team raise the profile of issues affecting the Armed Forces community, and work to influence politicians, officials, and the wider sector, to improve policy and service delivery to address these issues. Poppyscotland, as part of the RBL Group, work to deliver better outcomes for serving and ex-serving personnel, and their families across Scotland. This role will see you as a key part of our wider CPR team working across both RBL and Poppyscotland.
Reporting to our Head of Public Affairs and Campaigns, key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting colleagues with the development of a Public Affairs engagement programme in Scotland - managing day-to-day implementation through regular events, meetings, briefings and attendance at conferences, including local government and party conferences
- Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the Scottish Government, key Members of the Scottish Parliament, Committees, All-Party Groups, the Scottish Veterans Commissioner, and other related stakeholders within Scotland
- Routinely monitoring political developments at the Scottish Parliament and parliamentary business and identify any areas of concern and opportunities to influence
- Working with Poppyscotland colleagues, Public Affairs and Campaigns Manager (UK) and Public Affairs and Campaigns Manager (Wales) on the development of campaign strategies and messages to facilitate positive policy change
- Being the lead point of contact for internal and external enquiries about Poppyscotland and RBL campaigns, managing responses to Scottish public affairs issues and developments
You will be contracted to our Edinburgh Hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the Hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site. There will also be a requirement for travel across the region.
Should you wish to explore a remote/home based working contract, with regular travel to the Edinburgh Hub and across the region, this can be discussed at interview. Due to the nature and duties of the role, it is expected that you will live within a reasonable distance of the Edinburgh Hub.

Campaign Against Arms Trade is seeking an experienced IT manager on a part-time basis (21 hours per week) on a monthly rolling contract starting in May.

We’re looking for a New Business Officer to join our team, to secure new partnerships that will grow income and take us one step closer to a cure.
This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Identify and build strategic relationships to generate income from new corporate supporters.
· A focused and strategic approach to identifying, researching, and targeting prospective corporate partners.
· Work closely with Corporate Partnerships Manager (CPM) to deliver our successful new business strategy.

The Head of Business Development works closely with the CEO and has responsibility for all aspects of the development of BLCF’s business interests including long-term income growth, philanthropy, partnerships, communication and new business initiatives. They will nurture and grow the Foundation’s long-term growth income, secure funding for new initiatives and develop and deliver our CSR and social value work, extending the reach of our services to increase our revenue through the excellent communication of our business and strategic aims. Responsibilities
Work with the CEO and Head of Impact to develop plans and strategies to ensure quality services are delivered that meet organisational objectives and charitable articles to the highest standards.
As part of the Senior Leadership team, work with, advise, contribute, and respond to the CEO and Head of Impact and the partnership they create to ensure they are deliverable and adequately resourced and costed and deliverable.
Work with the CEO to set and implement Strategic Plan Delivery Plan targets and objectives and budgets to deliver them. Ensuring information is cascaded to all staff in their area and that staff connect to the Strategic Plan though their own workplans.
Core Role Delivery
Work with the CEO and under their direction to identify, develop and deliver new partnerships and to increase revenue and business growth that support the Foundations long term sustainability and long-term income targets. Basing new work on evidence of need as identified by the Head of Impact . This includes but not exclusively development of new flowthrough opportunities, endowment partners, legacy, corporates, social value and CSR initiatives and all aspects of business growth.
Provide support and advise to potential and existing partners about our work and proactively look to address inequality and fairer access to opportunities the Foundation offers.
Oversees the team and external contractors tasked with effective communication with our corporate and business partners to ensure it is a means to drive partnership and business growth.
Staff & Contract Management
Ensure an appropriate, effective staff, freelance and volunteer structure to deliver the services; recruit and manage staff & volunteers and resources to achieve required service response and quality.
Ensure all staff development and review processes are undertaken including induction, appraisal, and performance, in line with required processes. Resolve performance issues among staff and volunteers engaged in delivering services.
Performance Management
Working under the direction of the CEO develop, agree, and secure agree all partnership agreements and MOU that support the emerging partnerships and ensure they are in line with the Donor Care Plan specifications.
Working with the CEO and Finance, oversee and monitor all contract and partnership agreement terms with regards to agreed milestones and cashflow of fees and funds; anticipate problem areas and lead as necessary on mitigating action and ensure deliver of agreed targets.
Work to the Head of Impact to inform monitoring reports as required to ensure clear and transparent delivery of agree contracts.
Ensure appropriate levels of training are maintained and a good working understanding of the policies and procedures of the Foundation.
Contribute to the Quality Accreditation process to ensure highest standard of the foundation are achieved.
Relationship Management
Under the direction of the CEO develop and maintain proactive, collaborative and effective strategic relationships with corporate partners, commissioners, contract managers, business partners and funders to maximise the charity’s influence and ability to deliver quality services and grow it income and funding.
Manage the Bedfordshire & Luton Funder Network to maximise opportunities for support, collaboration, and information sharing.
Representing the Organisation

Job Description
The role of CARA’s Child and Young Person’s Practice Manager is to lead CARA’s teams of Young Person’s Practitioners and Child and Family Practitioners and manage the provision of specialist sexual violence counselling for young people, play therapy and support for parents and carers. The post holder may hold a small caseload of clients and undertake some assessments, but the main emphasis of this role will be on the management, support and coordination of the team.
This is a varied and interesting role, giving the post holder opportunity to lead a talented and committed team of practitioners. As well as overseeing day-to-day operations of the team, the post holder will be part of CARA’s management team and will have the opportunity to play a key role in CARA’s wider development, working closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO. The post holder will work with our sister centres, SERICC and SOS Rape Crisis to gain an understanding of Child and Young Person’s services across Essex and coordinate these as appropriate.
Main Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
• To manage all operational aspects of CARA’s Child and Young Person’s Practice, including overseeing the delivery of our specialist young person’s counselling service, play therapy and support for parents and carers. This may also include managing any new Child and Young Person’s Practice projects that CARA develops.
• To work in accordance with CARA’s policies and procedures and embed a feminist approach in CARA activities.
• To co-ordinate, review and develop effective processes within the Child and Young Person’s Practice, working closely with the Deputy CEO, the Young Person’s Practitioners and the Child and Family Practitioners.
• To line-manage a team of Young Person’s and Child and Family Practitioners, providing day-to-day support, monitoring performance and identifying training and development needs. This will include keeping up to date notes of line management meetings and conducting and recording annual staff appraisals.
• Work with our Adult Practice Manager to oversee the work of a wider team of sessional counsellors, including supporting Practitioners in line managing sessional and volunteer counsellors and identifying training needs. This will include helping to co-ordinate a monthly sessional and volunteer counsellor meeting.
• To support practitioners and sessional counsellors in maintaining up-to-date client records and ensure that gaps in data are proactively addressed, as required.
• To work with CARA’s Deputy CEO to recruit and train new staff and sessional and volunteer counsellors, as required.
• To lead regular Young Person’s Practice and Child and Family Practice meetings, producing notes to share with team members and with senior management.
• To maintain an overview of waiting lists, working closely with practitioners and with the Deputy CEO and CEO to ensure that staff and resources are deployed effectively.
• To keep up to date with relevant legislation, policy and practice issues, including BACP and child safeguarding guidance and ensure the practitioners are aware of changes.
• To liaise with CARA’s other teams and more widely with Synergy Essex teams, resolving problems and ensuring good communication and mutual understanding of respective roles and ways of operating.
• To liaise with external agencies, including children’s mental health and social care, ensuring CARA is represented at meetings as required and developing effective relationships to ensure our services co-ordinate with statutory and voluntary services.
• To be part of the CARA management team and attend regular management team meetings, contributing to CARA’s ongoing development.
Counselling and client support
• To oversee client work within the teams, working closely with all team members to resolve client issues and ensure high quality service provision.
• To undertake client assessments and make appropriate arrangements for support.
• To provide specialist counselling for young people and/or play therapy for children and support for their parents, holding a small caseload of clients.
• To keep client records up to date.
• To work flexibly at CARA centres across mid and north Essex, providing face-to-face and remote sessions, as required.
General
• To work flexible hours, including some evening work and occasional weekends.
• To participate in CARA team meetings, supervision, training and development.
• To provide specialist advice to other workers and agencies, including participation in delivery of training sessions.
• To raise awareness of sexual violence and its impact in the community and within other agencies.

You will be responsible for:
- Partnering with the Director of the Centres of Excellence to refine the project scope.
- Mapping current employee and manager experiences across the life cycle.
- Redesigning experiences and processes that are inclusive, equitable, and system-agnostic, focusing on improving ease, clarity, and consistency for employees and managers.
- Developing and managing detailed workplans, timelines, and resourcing aligned to project goals.
- Working closely with technology and delivery teams to implement the system changes required to support redesigned experiences.
- Managing internal and external project contributors and coordinate effectively across teams.
- Facilitating input and feedback from employees, managers, operational teams, and subject matter experts.
- Delivering project outcomes on time and within budget.
Key Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, leading and delivering transformation initiatives in People Operations or HR Shared Services functions.
- Experience in Organizational and Operating Models design for the People and Organizational Development function.
- Established track record of successful project management and delivery from concept to completion, managing multiple stakeholders and meeting deadlines.
- Experience working in or with areas such as reward, payroll, HR, and talent.
- Experience in delivering projects in a scaling or complex environment.
- Strong understanding of people systems and related technologies.
- Able to translate process requirements into clear system needs and work collaboratively with technology teams.
- A user centric and inclusive mindset in decision making and design. Ability to actively listen and design processes that are easy to access, understand, and use.
- Excellent communication, engagement and influencing skills. Ability to adapt communication styles and build strong, trusting relationships across a range of stakeholders securing buy-in at all levels.

Salary: c. £70,000-75,000 depending on experience
Contract: 12-month FTC
Based: This is a UK hybrid role where you will be predominantly home-based and working from our modern open plan offices in Embassy Gardens at least 1 day per week.
