Job description

We’re looking for an Associate Director of Fundraising to lead a high-performing fundraising function, driving significant and sustainable income growth across a diverse portfolio.

Blood Cancer UK and our fundraising is in a really healthy place. Over the last five years we’ve doubled our income, achieving significant growth across all areas of fundraising. We’ve successfully entered new markets and launched new products. Our pipeline is strong and our ambitions are high.

You would be joining us at a very exciting time. We’re in the first year or so of our first major appeal and have already secured over £8m of our £25m target. The appeal aims to raise money primarily from high value audiences and we have a strong, well connected, appeal board. You will be an experienced high value fundraiser comfortable prospecting and building relationships with senior and influential people.

Responsible for our mid-value fundraising programme you will also understand how to engage, inspire and motivate larger audiences. Our supporters up and down the country are the life-blood of our organisation – people with a strong connection to cause and hugely passionate about fundraising. With around 5 million people in the country affected by blood cancer there is even more potential for more people to do more things with us.

You will be ambitious, tenacious, and a passionate fundraiser with high standards. You will lead a team of nearly 50, leading and setting an inspiring vision. You will work incredibly well with other across the organisation, building mutually beneficial relationships.

Most importantly, you will make a difference to people affected by blood cancer. We're the UK's specialist blood cancer charity and our vision is clear: we’re here to beat blood cancer. We fund world-class research; provide information and support to patients and their loved ones; and raise awareness of blood cancer.
