The Role
You will be a part of the youth service working on the local council sites and a community centre in Wakefield and Bradford, where you will build trusted relationships with young members (age range 5 to 17). Working with families living on site, with some engagement (outreach) of young people living on yards, in houses and potentially roadside. You will get to know them, their goals, talents and challenges and together with them, you will build an ongoing programme of activities.
The youth work programme through weekly group work and regular 1-1 sessions, covers such key issues and topics such as mental health, education, relationships, staying safe, human rights and future hopes. The sessions are planned around building key core skills such as building confidence, leadership and team building skills, positive communication and joint decision making.
The youth service supports young people to be less isolated, have better connections to opportunities, have greater pride and the opportunity to celebrate their ethnicity and pride. Developing partnerships with organisations who can bring their projects to our young people and support them to access opportunities off site.
About You
You will be confident to work in a busy, fast paced, community facing environment that is committed to person-centred working, with active listening skills and an empathetic approach. You will be resilient and adaptable, and enjoy working in a role with competing priorities and deadlines.
Knowledge and experience;
- Have at least 2 years experience of working with young people, either as an employee, volunteer.
- Have experience of delivering group work for children and young. (Co-production and involving young people in session design and delivery)
- Have some experience in keeping records and designing session plans.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of safeguarding principles, policies and procedures
- Have skills in building trusted relationships and developing children and young peoples strengths

As an Arts Psychotherapist you will promote the recovery of young people and vulnerable adults following a disclosure of child sexual abuse and/or domestic abuse by reducing the emotional, psychological and physical symptoms of child abuse through the provision of early intervention therapeutic assessment, psycho-education, strategies for acute stress symptoms and interventions. This work will be undertaken following pre-trial therapy guidelines until the client has completed the Criminal Justice Process.

Some of the key tasks for this role will include:
- Develop and deliver a therapeutic service to young people and vulnerable adults following a disclosure or discovery of child sexual abuse and/or domestic abuse, communicating with clients to explain the service, including pre-trial therapy guidelines and encourage engagement
- Carry out assessments, psycho-education, early intervention strategies and individual therapeutic recovery work to young people and vulnerable adults affected by child sexual abuse and/or domestic abuse
- Work within CPS pre-trial therapy guidelines (training will be provided)
- Maintain a caseload and provide accurate, timely and concise electronic records using our online database CharityLog. Ensure record keeping adheres to pre-trial therapy guidelines.
- Provide information to young people and vulnerable adults regarding the impact of the trauma of sexual abuse and/or domestic abuse, the potential for recovery and the promotion of prevention
- Consider and respond to child safeguarding issues when engaging with all children and young people, adhere to the Nottingham City and County Safeguarding Board policies in all assigned work and actively promote children’s best interests. Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies and technical services.

The Family Matters team provide support and information to the families of men under investigation for online paedophile crimes. They are often the hidden victims, facing multiple problems and isolated from help and support.
This Role will provide support to families of those who receive a custodial sentence, liaise with Police, Probation, Court staff and other relevant professionals while supporting service users attending Court Hearings.

About the role:
We are looking to appoint a Kentown Family Support Worker to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of the pilot Kentown Children’s Palliative Care Programme, in collaboration with Kentown Wizard and Together for Short Lives.
Reporting to the Kentown Project Lead out of our Lancaster team base and working in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for providing needs-led emotional, social and practical support to families where a child/young person has a life threatening or terminal illness.

· An experienced child health, education or social care professional - applications will be particularly welcome from those who have worked in a community environment and those with a recognised qualification in education, health or social care.

The Purpose of the Role
The External Relations (ER) department includes private fundraising, marketing & communications and advocacy. The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team plays a vital role in supporting ER to advance our ambitious global strategy. Our Youth and Play Workers will play a pivotal role in the Children, Young People and Families team, working as a core team of practitioners to ensure the smooth running of our programmes and services. In this role you will be part of a small and dynamic team which delivers a wide range of programmes and activities, both from Tulse Hill Adventure Playground and within local schools. The work of the Children, Young People and Families team is diverse and varied.
