What the job involves

We’re looking for a Customer Experience Executive to join our team on a fixed term basis covering an internal secondment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, people-orientated, Customer Experience/ Supporter Care professional to join an established team at one of the most dynamic charities in the UK.

You’ll be a critical part of the Customer Experience and Engagement Team in our Communications Directorate. Focussing on supporter care, you’ll be committed to building and strengthening long term relationships with our customers – from service users to fundraisers, from campaigners to volunteers. You’ll enjoy keeping customers coming back for more.

We’re transforming our culture to be customer and insight driven and this role will play a major part in making that happen. You’ll be supporting the Customer Experience Manager in gathering customer intelligence and implementing evidence-based insights to reinforce and improve customer journeys.

You’ll provide a customer focused steer in working groups for new and existing fundraising products. Putting the experience of the customer first, you’ll help build long term relationships with our customers and keep them coming back for more. You’ll be passionate about stopping prostate cancer killing men and damaging bodies.

You’ll be comfortable dealing with complaints and able to engage with a wide range of customers, showing enthusiasm or empathy when it’s needed.

You’ll be a strong communicator, able to adapt your style to suit different people and situations and have experience building good relationships at all levels of an organisation. You’ll be comfortable highlighting the impact that every stakeholder has on our customers’ experiences. Proactive, collaborative, and a real people person, you’ll work well under pressure as part of a dynamic team.

You’ll have experience using a CRM system (like Raiser’s Edge) and understand the importance of handling sensitive data in line with GDPR regulations. Ideally, you’ll also have a good understanding of fundraising rules, including Gift Aid.

About the role 

The Campaign & Programme Lead: Climate & Health supports health workers to campaign for just and proportionate action on climate change, working closely with our Movement Organiser and other colleagues. Currently our work focuses on the intersection of climate and housing, working to end the public health crisis of fuel poverty and poor-quality homes. In particular this role is responsible for national advocacy and campaigning on fuel poverty and housing, supporting members to organise in their local communities, and being a key part in the Homes for Health campaign team.

The role involves holding Medact’s key knowledge base on climate and health issues. You will build relationships across the health community and wider climate movement, from establishment institutions to frontline workers and grassroots groups. 

About you

This is a skilled role but you don’t need to have had a job in an NGO before or be a professional campaigner to be right for it. You might have worked with your local community to campaign on a social justice or health issue that you care about. Or, you might be a health worker who has seen the impact of these issues on your patients and wants to challenge the systems that drive inequity and marginalisation. 

You’ll have a strong understanding of power and how to work with others to create pressure for change. You need to be a great communicator, able to build trusting relationships with Medact members, academics, partner organisations and community groups. You’ll have an understanding of how digital communications compliment campaigning and an eye for a good media story.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To manage, lead and support the Fundraising and Communications Team to retain donors, increase income and provide clear direction for our communications. This role will involve supporting relationships with sponsors of Action Duchenne’s International Conference, developing and implementing the fundraising and communications strategy, and reviewing our case for support for our core work and projects.

Specific Tasks:

The focus areas and key deliverables of this role are as follows:

• Develop and deliver on a clear fundraising and communications strategy, with annual action plans and clear objectives and KPIs for team members.

• Understand and keep abreast of sector trends and compliance updates relating to fundraising and communications

• Develop and maintain oversight of all budgets, targets, forecasts and processes relating to fundraising and communications

• Co-ordinate the prioritising of income streams, including community, individual giving, corporate, legacy and trust and grants

• Research, identify, and where there is capacity, pursue income generation opportunities that match the objectives of Action Duchenne

• Ensure Action Duchenne is compliant with all applicable elements of the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice, law, and the Charity Commission relating to fundraising

• Research, identify and apply to Trusts and Foundations with a clear pipeline

• Prepare reports for Trustees either for the full Board, or where required, to sub committees, which will include fundraising and communications progress against objectives.

• Coordinate cover for the Support Team when there is sickness or leave.

SERT’s ambition is to reach as many people as possible in the South East, to teach and show them the importance of rivers in the environment, and how everyone can play a part in restoring them. This role will lead the development and delivery of volunteering and community outreach activities that connect people with their local rivers. Activities will include practical volunteering such as river clean-ups, planting days, and invasive species control, as well as citizen science, guided walks, and community workshops.

A key focus of the role is supporting the Chalk Streams in the City project - a major initiative to restore London’s rare urban chalk streams through community involvement. The postholder will help shape and deliver a programme of inclusive and engaging opportunities that inspire people to care for these unique and threatened habitats.

The Foundation is recruiting a dynamic Senior Legal Officer to help expand, strengthen and innovate our TrustLaw programme in the Europe, Middle East and North Africa (EMENA) region. Reporting to the Senior Legal Programme Manager, EMENA, and working closely with the regional Programme Manager and Officer, the Senior Legal Officer will manage legal pro bono projects from TrustLaw’s community of civil society organisations, social enterprises and independent media organisations, and support the team on thought leadership initiatives.

About the Role 

As a Senior Legal Officer at Thomson Reuters, you will:  

• Scoping legal pro bono requests from our community of civil society organisations, social enterprises and independent media organisations so that the requests clearly explain the legal needs for lawyers to advise on. 

• Managing pro bono requests, including connecting the pro bono client with lawyers, collecting feedback and following up with the parties involved.

• Designing, scoping and overseeing cross-border legal research projects, tools, resources and other content that address the most critical social and advocacy needs facing our members. 

• Proactive supporting of TrustLaw’s regional portfolio of law firms, corporations and other key stakeholders in EMENA to ensure TrustLaw regional quality and growth metrics are met. 

• Actively pursuing and cultivating relationships with law firms to secure their commitment to pro bono projects, employing persuasive communication strategies to highlight the impactful role they play in advancing social and environmental objectives through TrustLaw initiatives.

• Administering the service, for example through inputting into databases, planners, and trackers, running Salesforce reports, ensuring members have up-to-date contact information, inputting into quarterly reports, responding to requests for information, etc. in a timely manner.

• Contributing to the TrustLaw global annual strategy, and supporting the implementation of a regional strategy to expand and activate TrustLaw membership, ensuring we serve the best NGOs, social enterprises and independent media organisations, as well as the strongest law firms and corporate in-house legal teams. 

• Executing a robust communications, engagement and outreach strategy that includes member events and promotion of TrustLaw publications.

• Maintaining a high profile in EMENA by attending, supporting and coordinating events for TrustLaw and the Thomson Reuters Foundation, including by speaking publicly on our work at panels, roundtables, panel discussions, workshops, trainings, conferences or other speaking engagements.

About You

You are a fit for the role of Senior Legal Officer if your background includes:

• Legal experience (preferably with at least 1 year post qualification experience) working either in a law firm, in-house legal team or non-profit organisation.

• A good understanding of the legal and NGO sectors in EMENA (and, in particular, the UK), and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities that pro bono opportunities bring to law firms and legal teams;

• Experience of project management or co-ordination is highly favourable. 

• Excellent time management and organisational skills including the ability to effectively and independently manage multiple matters and projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent research, drafting and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail. 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – able to establish and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally with people from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds.

• Being ambitious, dynamic, and creative. 

• Experience in Salesforce would be favourable, experience working with databases essential.

• Experience organising events or trainings would be favourable. 

• Fluency in English, other languages favourable (e.g. French, Spanish, German, Arabic).

• Willingness to travel internationally. 

• Pre-existing right to work in the UK.

This is a full-time role based in London, with a minimum of two days in our office in Canary Wharf. The salary is relative to the local charitable sector and will be commensurate with experience.

We’re looking for an experienced and creative Community Development Co-ordinator to bring our Highgate Newtown Community Champions programme to life.

As Community Development Co-ordinator, you’ll lead the delivery of a vibrant, resident-led health and wellbeing programme across Highgate Newtown and nearby estates. Working closely with local volunteers (Community Champions), residents and partners, you’ll co-produce a wide range of weekly activities that tackle health inequalities, strengthen community ties, and amplify local voices. Activities could include mental health workshops, family play sessions, health information pop-ups, gardening projects, and community cafés - no two weeks will look the same. You’ll recruit, support and nurture a team of passionate volunteers, ensuring they grow into confident community leaders.

A key part of the role involves building strong relationships with local services, schools, faith groups and community venues, and making sure resident feedback shapes everything we do. You’ll coordinate themed campaigns, facilitate listening sessions, promote the programme creatively across the estates, and track the outcomes and stories behind our impact. This is a hands-on, outward-facing role requiring creativity, adaptability and strong organisational skills. We’re looking for someone who is a natural facilitator and relationship-builder, with a passion for health equity and social justice. Based at Barnes House with some hybrid working from home, you’ll also be regularly out in the neighbourhood - walking, talking, connecting, and helping residents lead change where it matters most.

Summary of the role:

The Communications Officer plays a key role in executing the organisation’s communication strategy. Our advice service provides over 2,000 kinship carers a year with easy access to expert advice and support to empower them to:

We’re developing our advice service and investing in our team to make sure that we can support more kinship carers effectively. You’ll be part of a supportive team who keep kinship carers at the heart of their service.

The role of Advice Worker is pivotal in supporting kinship carers to access the right information, services and entitlements.

In this role, you’ll provide generalist advice and information to kinship carers in line with kinship carers’ preferred methods. Often, this will be by telephone, including taking live calls on our advice line, and by email. You will also need to respond to enquiries using video conferencing, text and other channels as we develop the service.

The type of person we’re looking for:

You will either have significant experience of providing advice to individuals on their rights, or you will have significant experience of providing support to kinship carers.

We will provide the training you need to undertake the role, as well as opportunities for development and progression.

You will need to be resilient and able to remain calm in difficult situations. You will have an eye for detail to identify the key issues requiring advice and the relevant legislation, guidance or practice. You will be firm, sensitive and professional in your approach and will be clear and assertive as you support kinship carers to get their needs met quickly and effectively.

The team work remotely, but there is the option to work from our office in London.

Key responsibilities include:  

Advice provision:

· Respond to enquiries through a range of incoming channels. This includes taking calls on our advice line, as well as responding to enquiries submitted through our website, via internal referral or other channels.

· Provide high quality advice and information to kinship carers on their rights, entitlements and responsibilities in relation to: welfare benefits, local authority allowances, support from children’s services, kinship care arrangements and options, housing, sources of educational, parenting and legal support and other issues that may be required.

· Address all safeguarding concerns in line with policy.

· Make referrals and signpost to other services as necessary.

· Where appropriate, provide additional advice or support to enable the client to take action or undertake follow-up action on behalf of the client to move the case on.

· Facilitate access to our advice service for people with diverse needs.

Service quality, consistency and data management:

· Respond to all enquiries in line with Kinship’s advice service framework, standards and performance targets.

· Ensure independence, impartiality and confidentiality when dealing with kinship carers.

Professional and service development:

· Maintain an up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and guidance.

Essential knowledge, abilities, skills and experience include: 

· EITHER:

a) Minimum of 2 years recent experience of delivering advice work on social welfare issues (e.g. benefits, housing, education or social care) to members of the public.

OR:

b) Minimum of 2 years recent experience of providing support to kinship carers.

c) Experience equivalent to, or a combination of, a) or b) above.

· Experience of working with socially excluded or marginalised people and their

The Digital Inclusion Worker will be responsible for providing targeted one-to-one digital support and delivering workshops to both disabled and non-disabled residents of Enfield, helping them to improve their digital skills. This will be achieved through the delivery of tailored training and learning programmes designed to promote digital inclusion. The Digital Inclusion Worker will also involve residents in the co-design of the project, network with community groups and partner organisations, support the recruitment of volunteers, troubleshoot technical challenges faced by residents, and assist ECP’s Project Manager in producing key performance indicators (KPIs) and progress reports.

The Digital Inclusion Worker will have extensive Digital Inclusion knowledge to:

• Manage the Enfield Digital Champions (Volunteers) project ensuring adherence to compliance, health and safety matters, and quality assurance.
• Support the recruitment of Digital Champion volunteers to sustain and enhance a network of 10 digital champions per year delivering support and skills training in Enfield.
• Provide training and development opportunities to volunteers to sustain interest and enhance skills.
• Manage the programme of digital skills workshops and work with ECP Project Manager to on-board new locations for groups/sessions.
• Host Bi-monthly network sessions for all champions and provide appropriate related 1:1 support, as required.
• Create bespoke workshop material based on resident top learning priorities.
• Provide digital skills training to Enfield residents to allow them to confidently access the internet to improve social, economic and health opportunities.
• Support the recruitment of volunteers (with help from other partners orgs) from the Enfield community to build intergenerational learning and broaden the project's scope.

• Work with the ECP Community Officer and Project Manager to develop mechanisms for identifying and tracking benefits realisation.
• Gather data on DANE Digital Champions and help to complete reports/analysis of impacts alongside ECP’s Project Manager and Data Administrator.
• Provide updates to ECP Project Manager.

BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women's led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by VAWG.

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.

PRIMARY TASK

The post is instrumental in overseeing the delivery of a comprehensive package of services and care for women in our refuges. To provide a safe environment and a service that is appropriate to the needs of young BME women particularly those from South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern communities and to support ex-clients following resettlement.

The post holder will have a caseload of clients and be responsible for providing advice, advocacy, casework and support to women and girls, advocating on behalf of these women and making others aware of their particular needs. The post-holder is required to demonstrate sensitivity and an awareness of the culture and needs of  minoritised communities in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities.
