What you will do
Parliamentary engagement
· Support day to day parliamentary monitoring and identify opportunities to influence debates, questions and policy development
· Draft high-quality briefings, parliamentary questions, and stakeholder communications
- Build and maintain relationships with MPs, Peers, and parliamentary staff
· Support delivery of our parliamentary engagement activity, including events and party conferences
Member communication
· Draft clear, timely and engaging communications for members, including briefings, updates and campaigns
· Work directly with members, including through focus groups, to capture insight, case studies and evidence
· Ensure member voice sits at the centre of our external messaging
· Translate complex policy and political developments into clear, practical and accessible information for members and external audiences
Wider external affairs
·Monitor media coverage and support proactive and reactive media activity
· Contribute to social media and wider communications output
· Support campaigns, publications, events and stakeholder engagement

About you
You are bright, motivated and organised, with a strong interest in politics, policy and communications. You enjoy writing, relationship-building and working at pace. You can understand complex issues, ask good questions and turn evidence into clear, compelling messages for different audiences.
You will bring:

The Academy of Medical Sciences is seeking a Finance Officer to be responsible for ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded on a timely basis for the Charity and its trading subsidiary, using the Academy’s finance system, and related databases.
As Finance Officer, you will provide accurate and timely information to enquiries from a range of stakeholders, including - but not restricted to - staff, fellows and external suppliers.
The responsibilities of the post include:
Accounting on Finance System:
- Maintain the accounting records (purchase, sales and nominal ledgers) of AMS and AMSTL on the finance system (Iplicit) and assist with the reconciliation of control accounts and production of the monthly trial balance.
- Prepare monthly standard journals (accruals and prepayments) to produce the trial balance and work with the Financial Accountant to provide other period end journals as required.
Purchase ledger:
- Maintain the purchase ledgers of AMS and AMSTL by inputting purchase invoices and expense claims by onto Iplicit and processing payments by BACS (Lloyds Commercial).
- Assist staff with queries about expenses and purchase invoices.
- Ensure that authorisation limits are followed via purchase orders and maintain purchase order log.
Sales ledger:
- Prepare sales invoices for the Academy as necessary under terms of funding arrangements, liaising with relevant teams.
- Monitor and maintain fellowship records, ensuring subscription fees are invoiced and timely and deal promptly with any fellowship finance queries.
- Monitor and ensure all income and donations are correctly reflected on Iplicit and CRM system and that information is shared with the relevant departments.
- Liaise with the contract caterers Searcys on a regular basis to confirm sales on trading company, assisting with queries where needed.
- Upload sales information from the conference database Rendezvous to the finance system and reconcile monthly.
- Monitor receipts against invoices and assist with credit control to minimise the amounts owed by debtors to AMS and AMSTL.
- Support the FORUM staff group regarding invoicing and provision of information regarding receipts and credit control.
Cash management:
- Prepare banking details and bank any income received at the Academy offices on a regular basis.
- Post AMS and AMSTL bank receipts and payments onto Iplicit, preparing bank reconciliations in the finance system.
- Assist the Financial Controller with cash management, including looking at ways to improve the integration of the finance system with the online banking platform to increase automation of bank transactions.
Management accounts and year end:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly budget holder reports and help with queries about variances.
- Assist in preparation of year end accounts and work with the Financial Controller in producing documentation for audit.
- Ensure that all transactions are entered onto with the correct VAT code and assist the Financial Controller in the preparation and submission of VAT returns for the Academy.
Other:
- Provide cover for other Finance Officer
- Support staff who are running meetings and events by providing information on expenditure and income, preparing sales invoices, and assisting with credit control.
- Support the Head of Finance in the continued optimisation of Iplicit.
- Other tasks within the level of the role, and as requested by the Financial Controller, including support of work for the annual audit.
Requirements

- Educated to at least A level or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in use of finance systems.
- Demonstrable Excel skills & sound working knowledge of other Microsoft applications and database packages.

As Community Fundraising Officer, you’ll:
- link the rehoming centre with supporters in the local community, developing relationships with local individuals, businesses, community groups and clubs,

While you’ll be a key part of the rehoming centre team, you’ll be regularly be working independently, so strong organisational skills and a proactive approach is essential.
This role is based at the rehoming centre, and the post holder will spend lots of time in the community meeting supporters. The working pattern is typically Monday and Tuesdays, but flexibility is required and is likely to involve some evening and weekend work, depending on the nature of the work.

To successfully lead the Grants team and raise voluntary income from a range of Grantmakers including Trusts, Foundations and local Government grant funders contributing to an overall team target of £1-million +. Working effectively with a grants team of three, and across the organisation, you will meet team annual targets of circa £675,000 through finding new opportunities, building excellent relationships with funders and managing the team effectively. Responsibilities
Income generation
· Lead responsibility for raising current annual team target of £675,000 for restricted and unrestricted income
· Work to agreed metrices including an annual target of £220,000 - £250,000/year with a pipeline including statutory, national & regional grant funders (some being invite only).
· Develop and lead networking plan (internal/external) to secure long-term grant and statutory funding opportunities to help increase financial income year on year.
Account Management
· Lead a stewardship framework, ensuring excellent account management of funders across the team (including own portfolio)
· Lead plans for the year, thinking creatively to develop new engagement opportunities such as panels, breakfast meetings and other events
· Collaborate with other leads and managers in the team to maximise opportunities through relationships, for example Major Donors, Corporate partnerships and Individual Givers.
Management
· Line management two staff members (Senior Grants Fundraiser and Trust Fundraiser), creating a positive and supportive working culture supporting them to meet their targets
· Lead on managing pipeline information on Donorfy, being able to pull reports for information and analysis including:
o Provision of data and narrative for monthly team meetings
o Contribution to Board reporting with narrative and pipeline information
o Analysis for annual planning sessions
Quality and standards
· Ensure all staff and volunteers understand and deliver within Eikon’s safeguarding policies and practices when taking part in fundraising activities.
· Ensure all activities follow the relevant Fundraising Codes of Practice and Eikon’s Ethical Fundraising Policy.
· Prepare relevant Grant Agreements and contractual information.
· Carry out risk assessments for all activities for which you are responsible.
· Carry out required basic due diligence on new funders.
Finance and resources
· Budget responsibility with authorisation up to agreed limits
· Operate within organisational approved budgets, policies and procedures.
Communications and relationships
· Work collaboratively with the Communications Lead to devise annual communications and marketing plans, ensuring Eikon is strategically positioned externally.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Communications has responsibility for Ubele’s internal and external communications and digital activities in support of our strategic aims as well as oversight of communications across special projects. Central to the Head of Communications’ role is responsibility for:
- Leading on delivery of Ubele’s Communications Strategy, public and internal communications with key audiences and stakeholders via various channels, especially Ubele’s website, email communications, social media and printed materials. With support where needed, leading the delivery of a small number of annual and special events, working alongside colleagues and partners.
- A crucial part of the role is working successfully with external partners, special projects comms teams, contractors and consultants to deliver on our communications objectives.
- Reporting to the COO and working closely with other senior leaders across departments to fulfil Ubele’s strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities/duties:
- Oversight of all external communications activity relating to the work of the organisation, including websites, email newsletters and social media.
- Oversight and management of the Creative Coordinator to effectively boost engagement and grow the organisation's social media channels.
- Guide and support the strategy that manages the creative outputs of the organisation across all projects and interests.
- Managing the organisation’s websites, ensuring content is correct and up to date, developing new webpages, functionalities and layouts as required, with support from an external website developer as needed.
- Working closely with the Hub leads and programme managers to publicise training opportunities, events, funding programmes, and wider Ubele activities across the organisation’s communication channels.
- Leading on cross-organisation conversations and convening cross-organisational groups to develop and coordinate a pipeline of content for blogs and case studies.
- Working with Hub Leads and our external PR support team (where relevant) to produce press releases including drafting quotes on behalf of the Leadership Team and coordinating the sign-off processes.

Planning & Delivery
- Deliver the communications strategy which will be set ahead of each financial year in line with the organisation’s wider strategic objectives by the organisation’s Management Board and Hub leads.
- Lead and advise on the key narratives, the best modes of communication and how to best reach our target audiences.
- Provide advice and guidance on communications to the Leadership Team, including on crisis communications and reputational risk management with support of PR freelancers.
- Setting and managing a communications calendar, supporting external-facing activities across Ubele’s work.
- Advise Ubele’s senior leaders on how activities including leadership training, provision of funding, social investment programmes, and various events might be publicised and communicated.

Role Description
The Programme Coordinator will be tasked with ensuring the smooth running of all student related events. This will include having a full understanding of the SEO-London law programmes; understanding the legal industry that the programme supports; how these fits into the SEO-London organisation and using this knowledge to liaise with students and client/partner firms to run, organise and market successful events.
