Baby Lifeline is a highly respected national charity whose mission is to ensure the healthiest and best outcomes possible from pregnancy and birth.

Founded over 40 years ago by Judy Ledger following the personal tragedy of losing three premature babies, we have since purchased many million pounds’ worth of equipment for maternity and neonatal units, produced nationally recognised reports and research projects, staged highly successful annual UK maternity safety conferences, and provided evidence-based, multi-professional training to reduce avoidable harm and death in maternity. Training is provided through Baby Lifeline Training Ltd, a not-for-profit social enterprise. It trains around 4,000 delegates annually and is one of the main providers/developers of training for maternity professionals in the UK.

Head of Communications & Marketing

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Baby Lifeline as Head of Communications and Marketing. You will play a critical role in supporting Baby Lifeline to deliver its important mission, leading the development and delivery of our strategic communications and marketing plan. Together, these will grow awareness of and engagement with our brand and increase donations.

Head of Communications and Marketing Responsibilities:

· Providing strategic communications and marketing counsel to the Chief Executive

· Devising results-driven marketing campaigns to grow our audience and drive charity donations and fundraising

· Devising creative media engagement strategies, leading on proactive and reactive media relations including press releases, statements, interviews, and enquiries

· Building relationships with relevant professionals and experts within healthcare, to help drive sign-ups to events and training

· Managing and influencing relationships with key external influencers, such as journalists, producers, and celebrity VIP ambassadors

· Overseeing our website and social media channels, developing creative content that drives growth, reach and engagement across channels 

· Line managing a Digital Marketing Manager on the effective day to day delivery of website and social media activity; working with external agencies where appropriate

· Understanding what metrics to use as a measure of success, based on key objectives – and to report on these confidently

· Researching and evaluating the latest trends within the charity sector and using these to advance Baby Lifeline communications and marketing activity

As Head of Communications & Marketing, you will have:

· Experience in a similar communications or marketing role

· A keen eye for marketing design – experience creating social media assets is preferable

· Self-motivation and passion about the opportunities that can come from marketing, communications, and social media

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· A degree in marketing and/or PR or equivalent is desirable

The Head of Scotland and Northern Ireland is responsible for leading our vision to end the need for food banks in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Scotland currently leads the way in having a rights-based, progressive agenda to ending the need for food banks, but there is much to do to ensure political intentions become a reality. This role directs Trussell Trust’s policy and public affairs work in Scotland and Northern Ireland, leads our Scotland and Northern Ireland department as they support our network of food banks and works strategically with key partners to tackle the underlying reasons why people need to come to food banks.  

Based in Scotland or Northern Ireland, with travel around the UK as necessary

Role responsibilities 

• Lead the delivery of the Trussell Trust strategy for ending the need for food banks in Scotland and Northern Ireland, working to embed the Changing Communities, Changing Minds and Changing Policy programmes across the network, including through providing strategic support for the effective delivery of the Pathfinder, FI and organising programmes in Scotland and Northern Ireland. 

• Work with key partners to direct Trussell Trust’s policy and public affairs and work with the Scottish government and local authorities across Scotland. 

• Facilitate the sharing of learning from Scotland to help shape our long-term policy and public affairs work in Northern Ireland. 

• Lead the Scotland and Northern Ireland department to ensure the safe and effective operations of the food bank network. 

• Work with our Head of Strategic Church Engagement to deliver a church engagement strategy that will mobilise the church in Scotland and Northern Ireland to work to end the need for food banks. 

• Work with the Policy, Research and Impact, and Network Programmes and Innovation directorates to ensure effective cross-departmental working on policy and research opportunities, strategic priorities, church engagement, external partnerships and impact reporting. 

Person Specification 

Technical skills and minimum knowledge: 

• Senior level experience of leading delivery programmes nationally and locally. 

• Senior level experience of directing policy and public affairs programme nationally and locally, and representing the Trussell Trust to senior government representatives, national stakeholders and the media.

Jangala is seeking a proven and inspiring Head of Programmes to lead our impactful and scalable internet connectivity initiatives in the UK and around the world. This role is pivotal in achieving Jangala’s ambitious goal of connecting underserved communities to the internet, empowering individuals and reducing the global digital divide.

Details of the role

As the Head of Programmes, you will play a central role in Jangala’s evolution at this important juncture, leading Jangala’s efforts to provide critical internet access to those who need it most. You will build and lead the partnerships with a wide range of delivery partners, from UK councils to the UN and major aid agencies, that will facilitate Jangala’s growing impact around the world, as well as lead a team dedicated to building efficient and insight-driven programmes. Your leadership will ensure the successful implementation of our connectivity initiatives, and help achieve Jangala’s ambitious impact targets providing meaningful connectivity worldwide.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead Jangala’s overall programme delivery, building partnerships across the UN, NGO and public sectors to deliver internet connectivity to millions of people by 2028 

• Ensuring that our programmes are high-quality and impactful, delivering meaningful connectivity by implementing our M&E frameworks and conducting first level impact assessment

• Working closely with our Strategy, Insights & Advocacy Lead to develop and implement our M&E frameworks, ensuring we are accurately measuring our impact

• Work closely with our Project Delivery Lead, assuring the robustness of our programmes, and due diligence process - including in high-risk environments subject to special regulations and sanctions

• Working to make our programmes accessible and scalable, so that they can serve both major organisations and grassroots partners in line with Jangala’s principles of universal accessibility 

• Act as Jangala’s Safeguarding Lead, managing overall responsibility for Jangala’s safeguarding responsibilities to the people we support

Important details

Jangala’s office is based in London and operates a remote-first working policy. Travel to our London office will be required for collaborative work at least once a week.

About Schoolreaders:

Schoolreaders was launched ten years ago in Bedfordshire with the aim of recruiting volunteers to provide one-to-one reading support for children in primary schools across the country. Over 22,000 children in over 1000 schools are receiving weekly reading sessions from a Schoolreaders volunteer. One in four children are leaving primary school unable to read to the expected Government standard. Our service is needed more than ever before with 1 in 6 primary schools across the country asking Schoolreaders for reading volunteers. Responsibilities include:

Leadership, Strategy and Governance

• To be an active member of the Made in Hackney Senior Leadership Team, working together to galvanise the organisation behind our strategic plan.
• To contribute to strategic discussions on the future direction of the organisation.

Donor stewardship & reporting

• To retain current donors and maximise fundraising opportunities, including delivering a programme of appropriate stewardship opportunities with the core team.

• To complete reporting to grant funders, including developing report templates, creating reports, case studies, and other administrative requirements. 

Communications

• To input into MIH’S communications strategy and the planning and implementation of improvements to marketing plans, digital presence and social media strategy to ensure impact and fundraising successes are communicated

Revenue diversification: Explore new programme opportunities and revenue streams to increase the sustainability of the charity

Innovation: Working with delivery and infrastructure departments, support the implementation of new growth initiatives

Heritage of London Trust restores the buildings and monuments that tell the story of the city and the people who live within it. Founded over 40 years ago, our mission was to rescue characterful and neglected historic sites all across the city. We focus on sites at risk in areas of least investment - in local communities that most need our help - ensuring a sustainable future for every project we work on. To date, we have restored nearly 800 sites across London.

In 2020 we launched our ground-breaking Proud Places youth programme to inspire and  engage young people with the world around them, helping them develop knowledge and skills now and for the future. We work with mainstream schools across London and are the only UK heritage organisation to specialise in working with excluded pupils, young  people at risk of gang exploitation and young refugees. To date we have worked with 6,000 young people and the programme continues to expand.

We are now looking for a dedicated fundraiser who will help us build on our relationship based fundraising activity to grow our income. The Head of Philanthropy is a new role reporting to the Chief Executive.

Role Purpose

If you’ve answered yes to the above you could be our new Corporate Partnerships Manager, who will contribute to the Fundraising and Partnerships team in a new phase of innovation and strategic fundraising growth for Hatch. You will work closely with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to steward our key strategic partners and reach out to new potential partners.

At Hatch we are not limited by opportunities but by capacity. Demand for our programmes is greater than ever, from beneficiaries as well as from corporate and governmental partners. Over the past four years, we have made strides in developing our Fundraising income, pipeline and capabilities enabling us to rapidly pivot, innovate and capitalise on new funding opportunities. Our income has grown from £500k pa  in 2019 to over £2m in 2023  and we’ve even been shortlisted for the Third Sector Fundraising Team of the Year 2022.

We have a strong track record in developing corporate partnerships and delivering against programmatic grants. Responsibilities

Account Management/ Stewardship

• Supporting day-to-day stewardship of Hatch’s strategic partners including Pizza Hut, UBS, BlackRock and NatWest.

• Integrating closely with our Programme team to support the engagement of founders for corporate requests (e.g. founders at corporate opportunities/ supply chain/ stalls/ panels etc).

• Work closely with the Programme team to develop volunteering opportunities and reporting back to partners on staff engagement (for example Friendly Dragons on Demo Days).

• Lead on additional stewardship and cultivation events (Lunch & Learns, networking events, showcase events)).

• Review and support on corporate volunteer onboarding.

New Business

• Fully research potential prospects and identify new regional and UK wide partnership opportunities, targeting proposals and making the most of links to develop long lasting partnerships.

• Cultivate potential employer partners, using networking and commercial skills to make imaginative, accurate and timely partnership proposals and applications.

• Support Head of Corporate Partnerships in securing and growing each partnership’s financial contribution covering both a corporate charitable donation and launching new employee engagement/fundraising activities.

Reporting/ Comms

• Write compelling cases for support to engage and motivate new and existing funders.

• Manage Benevity and Donorbox for additional donations.

• Use Monday. com and other CRM systems to record all approaches and delivery.

• Ensure the invoice and impact reporting schedule is clear with written contract agreements in place.

• Support Head of Corporate Partnerships to move partnerships from ‘in year’ renewal to a secure multi year (ideally three) year commitments/ written agreement.

• Work with colleagues to collate and deliver accurate data insights and impact reporting and inspiring story telling collateral related to partnerships.

Person Specification 

• Superb networking and relationship management skills, evidenced by experience of New Business Development and Account Management, ideally in the charity sector;

Introduction

The Prison Reform Trust (PRT) was founded in 1981 to inform public debate and improve prison conditions and the treatment of prisoners, amidst concerns about a projected prison population of 48,000 by 1984. Fast forward to today, the prison population in England and Wales is almost 87,000 and is projected to rise to 106,300 by March 2027. We overuse prison for non-violent and persistent crime, and we choose to send people to prison for a long time, and it continues to grow.

Our mission is clear. We are working to create a just, humane and effective prison system by influencing decision-makers opinion formers and the public to 1) reduce the use of prison; 2) Improve conditions for prisoners and, 3) promote equality and human rights in the criminal justice system.

Income in 2023 was £2.06 million, with most of our income portfolio reliant on trusts and foundations. We have just been through a strategic development period and as a part of that we have uncovered significant untapped potential for philanthropic and relational based income growth. We are now seeking a newly designed, ‘Head of Fundraising and Philanthropy’ to lead the whole fundraising programme, but with a specific focus on developing the philanthropy and corporate programme to take Prison Reform Trust to the next level.

You will be a seasoned relational fundraiser, have entrepreneurial flair, be creative and have the ability to influence at the highest of levels. Overall aim

· To maximise and grow Prison Reform Trust’s income by leading and implementing the fundraising strategy, ensuring targets are met and exceeded and in line with evolving needs, with a particular focus on unrestricted and core income growth

About the opportunity
Corporate partnerships are critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future. The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year) of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships. Part of our growth strategy is looking at building stronger relationships with corporate partners, having established a strong multi-year relationship for the first time this year worth £500k annually. We have a great ability to measure and quantify its impact, which we are looking to better communicate and leverage with current and potential corporate partners.

We’re looking for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to lead on our corporate partnership activities and initiatives, including growing income from corporate partners as well as increasing the number of corporate volunteer tutor applications we receive from them. Working within our Philanthropy Team, the Corporate Partnerships Manager will be responsible for the line-management and development of two Corporate Partnership Coordinators, ensuring that, as a team, you meet your corporate income and volunteer application targets. Your focus will be on deepening and leveraging relationships with our existing partners, alongside engaging new organisations with our mission and vision.

Duties and responsibilities
