The NSPCC’s purpose is to prevent the abuse and neglect of children across the UK.
The Strategy and Knowledge (S&K) Directorate exists to help shape the world around us - and what the NSPCC does - so that it reflects what we have learned and can help keep children safe from abuse.
The Directorate is responsible for organisational strategy, developing and influencing public policy, championing an evidence-based approach in all our work, developing innovative services and managing our knowledge and information.
This role within our Policy and Public Affairs team will assist in delivering our influencing campaigns asking for public support to persuade government to change laws and policies to better protect children and young people. This exciting role will play a pivotal part supporting the team’s work so we are able to deliver large-scale, impactful campaigns in support of the NSPCC’s policy priorities and our organisational strategy.
Job purpose
This role will support the planning, delivery and evaluation of the NSPCC’s campaigns to mobilise the public behind our influencing goals and galvanise decision makers to act. The postholder will:

Support the development of our influencing campaigns to inspire new and existing supporters to take action to keep children safe - including through research to inform the planning of campaigns and the creation and dissemination of impactful communications such as emails, social posts and supporter actions.

Assist the Influencing Campaigns team to manage and develop the campaigns database so it can grow to build a strong, active network of supporters helping us influence change.

Main duties and responsibilities
Supporting the Influencing Campaigns team day-to-day
o Managing the campaigns inbox and responding to supporters
o Assisting the Influencing Campaigns team by attending meetings with stakeholders (across the NSPCC and beyond)
o Monitoring and evaluating campaigns activity at NSPCC
o Tracking and evaluating campaigns “best practice” in other organisations (to enable competitor analysis)

Core Purpose
As a member of the Community Fundraising Team you will provide excellent supporter stewardship to our fundraisers, whilst proactively securing new support for Make-A-Wish UK. Working with the Community Fundraising Manager you will deliver the Community Fundraising Strategy, maximising and growing income from our Community Fundraising supporters within your geographical area.
This role sits within the Public Fundraising team who are responsible for individual giving, legacies, community fundraising, third party challenge events, and owned fundraising products and events. The Public Fundraising team plays a vital role in contributing to our organisational strategic goal of developing sustainable sources of income.
To be successful in this role you will need:
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 1 years experience in a fundraising role or able to demonstrate transferrable skills from a role in a sales or customer service setting
- Experience working towards financial and non-financial targets
- Experience of account managing a wide variety of clients/supporters/customers
- Experience managing own workload, prioritising and responding to changing demands
- Experience of relationship management in either a charity or corporate setting

Strategy & Planning
- With the support of the Community Fundraising Manager, develop and deliver plans for local fundraising across a broad range of markets, activities and products.
- Take ownership of your geographical area, tailoring asks and fundraising products where appropriate
- Work proactively to identify a pipeline of future support and new fundraising opportunities, varying across Small & Medium Corporates, Groups and Associations, Individual support and Third-party activities, converting prospects into confirmed supporters to maximise income growth.
- Contribute to the creation of plans for the growth and delivery of Community Fundraising, working with the Community Fundraising Manager to develop and promote Make-A-Wish fundraising products and ideas.

Stewardship, retention and supporter journeys
- Be a key contact to deal with community fundraising supporter queries above £1,000 value, responding promptly and efficiently. This includes both supporters and volunteers taking part in fundraising activity.
- Plan and deliver excellent supporter journeys for community fundraisers to retain donors, maximise fundraising, and promote further engagement.
- Provide effective supporter-focused stewardship to retain donors, maximise fundraising, and promote further engagement through cross selling different fundraising products such as Lottery and Gift in wills.
- Maintain effective relationships with Make-A-Wish UK colleagues and all supporters, maximising retention and long-term value, and identify cross-departmental opportunities where appropriate by working collaboratively
- Manage a range of different supporter groups and small businesses up to the value of £30k, using excellent stewardship to go above and beyond, increasing income raised and retention rates to Make-A-Wish, working with other teams to develop successful volunteering opportunities to support this.
- Actively use Salesforce to keep supporter records up to date, logging all communications and ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Working with the Community Development Manager, develop relationships with Wish Families with a view to building sustainable family fundraising groups. Identify and implement new opportunities to align the supporter journey with the wish journey.
Operational delivery of the community fundraising plan
- Work with the Community Fundraising Manager to deliver the annual community fundraising plan within your area.
- Manage own workload in a cost effective and proactive way, whilst delivering against the plan.
- Work under own initiative to respond to local fundraising opportunities, referring to line manager as appropriate.

- Contribute and create resources to support volunteer-led fundraising across the organisation.
Monitoring and Evaluation

About this role: Based in Higher Openshaw, East Manchester, Justlife currently works across Manchester and Tameside providing one-to-one key work support to empower vulnerable adults housed in temporary accommodation (TA) to move towards more secure housing, independent living and improved health and wellbeing. The role of Specialist Support Worker involves playing an active part in the Specialist Support Team by supporting a caseload of clients that are experiencing housing vulnerability and taking part in regular outreach visits to TA’s across Greater Manchester on the Justlife minibus. The role requires the use of specialist knowledge and relationship skills to support clients with varying degrees of mental and physical health, addiction and trauma related issues to engage with health services and to access suitable housing solutions. The Specialist Support Worker is also expected to develop good working relationships with TA Landlords and Managers recognising the important role that they play in ensuring that their tenants experience of TA is as positive as possible. This will include advocacy in registering them for medical services and accompanying them to appointments, assisting them in addressing all aspects of physical and mental health and addiction needs, as well as advocating for them to get access to suitable housing and social security benefits. The role is dependent on excellent communication and collaborative working with colleagues and a variety of partners and professionals, including the Probation Service, local council services and other third sector organisations. The role requires a high degree of motivation in addition to creativity and flexibility to support people with multiple and compound needs. With a passion to work collaboratively with others for the good of our clients, and with experience of working in a related field in a voluntary or paid capacity. Role Purpose

Join us as a Group Facilitator to provide a range of vibrant, supportive groups to our service users in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. You will be an instrumental part of facilitating and coordinating our Memory Cafes, Activity Groups and Singing for the Brain and other ad-hoc events. We have several, well established groups, but also there would be a great opportunity for the successful individual to develop and promote the less established to reach a wider number of people.
The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and experienced team of Group Facilitators and dedicated volunteers. As a Group Facilitator you will be connected to the expert local teams of Dementia Advisers and Dementia Navigators.

About you
- Compassionate, supportive individual with a good understanding of dementia and how it impacts both the person with the diagnosis and the carer.
- An excellent communicator with the ability to engage people in group activities, ensuring the person with dementia can fully participate as well as the carer.
- Organised and proactive in your approach to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and reaching out when required.
- Understands the importance of volunteers in group services is essential, plus the ability to role manage volunteers to support them in their role.
- Good computer skills are required to facilitate virtual groups, and to complete accurate records on the computer system.

The Head of Health Information and Education is a key role at Bowel Cancer UK, leading the delivery of our health information and health professional education. We currently provide high quality support, but we know we need to do even more, reach more people and have an even greater impact.
