We are seeking an Associate, O-CEO & Strategic Initiatives to join the Foundation. This role exists to maximise the effectiveness of the CEO and senior leadership by combining high‑quality executive support with analytical insight and delivery discipline across priority initiatives.
Acting as a Business Analyst for the team, the role will have a constant finger on the pulse of our internal and external operating environment, helping to ensure these insights translate to meaningful action. CEO Support, Leadership Enablement and Governance:
Acts as the Executive Assistant to the CEO: Effectively owns the CEO’s calendar and inbox, flagging issues and providing solutions, and understanding how engagements help (or don’t) meet organisational objectives. You will anticipate needs, define and brief on the CEO’s role and input ahead of meetings, conduct periodic calendar audits, assess productivity, and identify areas for improvement.
Corporate governance and leadership support: Manage the Foundation's board meeting agendas and coordinate board papers; manage relationships with Foundation Trustees and Directors.
Organise and manage Leadership Meetings: Planning these effectively, setting agendas and tracking actions, working closely with the Chief of Staff to ensure key priorities are followed through and owners are accountable.
Wider diary management, logistical and administrative support: Alongside your core duties optimising the time of the CEO, provide light-touch diary management for the Office of the CEO & Strategic Initiatives, CFO and Director of Business Development, managing expenses, and handling additional logistical matters as required. Supports the CEO Office with travel planning & diary management.
Strategic Insight, Executive Positioning and Project Management:
Act as a Business Analyst for the unit: offering regular competitor and stakeholder insights, alongside horizon scanning for key opportunities (events, profile engagements, lead generation). Provides project management of key internal and external initiatives, coordinating cross functional stakeholders and ensuring accountability.
Enhanced Business Development alignment: Work with the Chief of Staff & Strategic Initiatives to strengthen alignment between CEO priorities, business development activity, and the Foundation’s external positioning.
Executive communications support: Collect and develop Foundation materials (presentations, spreadsheets, data visualisations), assist in research and intelligence gathering, horizon scan for speaking opportunities, and support internal and external communications. Supports internal communications, working with the team to ensure messages reflect CEO priorities and meet staff needs.
Event logistics and execution: Project manage quarterly Town Halls logistics, coordinate Foundation Awards, organise End of Year Events, and manage other organisational events logistics as needed. Support the effective delivery of external events and speaking engagements that have CEO-level engagement.

The Events Assistant is a dynamic role centred on supporting the work of Hereford Cathedral’s Events Department. The Events Department’s core aim is to support the demand for income generating events and venue hires, such as light shows, silent discos, and multiple days of concerts, whilst also maintaining our programme of community, charity and missional engagement events and projects. These events help to anchor Hereford Cathedral’s identity as a space for all and a centre of the community, city and county.
The Events Assistant will join the department at an exciting time as we plan ahead for flagship events including the Medieval Hereford Festival over the summer, The Mysteries play in the Autumn and the ever-popular Christmas Fair. This is an exciting position in a busy department, ideal for a sociable and professional individual with attention to detail, initiative and a positive mindset.
KEY REPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ROLE
• Provide administrative support for the Events Department, including processing booking forms, email and phone enquiries, internal event forms, diary bookings, meeting agendas and minutes, float requests, and preparing for invoicing.
• Provide practical administration of bookings for the smaller venues on the cathedral site. This involves clear communication with hirers, liaison with the catering team and acting as a warm and welcoming host when hirers arrive on site. The role also includes playing a key part, alongside the Events Manager and Marketing Department to increase corporate and private small venue hire bookings.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with external clients and venue hirers to ensure all details and arrangements for their events are obtained during the booking process, and ensure this is reported to the Events Manager and subsequently other cathedral staff.
• Assist the Events Department to effectively oversee and provide practical and administrative support for events run by other cathedral departments, such as Music, Education and Library and Archives. This will include regular support of the Education Department’s weekly ‘Cathedral Seedlings’ toddler group.
• Produce monthly notes for the cathedral Vergers which outline upcoming events. • Assist the rota and safety briefing preparation and be a key point of contact for the voluntary Commercial Event Steward team.
• Assist the Events Department and Visitor Engagement Manager with the CRM Box Office system ‘Spektrix’. This will include occasional event building and box office ticket sale duties.
• Support the Events and Development Officer to facilitate the successful running of the Escape Room, Escape Room Volunteers and delivery of sessions.
• Providing practical hands-on support on event days and sometimes acting as lead when the Events Manager or Events and Development Officer are not present. This will involve set-up and pack-down, front of house duties and steward, staff and venue hirer liaison. Setting up for events is a practical task which will require an organised person who takes initiative, who is active, physically fit and able to move light furniture (tables, chairs, tech equipment) when required.

The role
The British Academy’s international team promotes and supports international collaboration and mobility, develops and maintains links with sister academies, international organisations and other partners overseas, and leverages the expertise of Fellows and award-holders to further the Academy’s reach, impact and influence internationally.
The Academy’s international programmes are multi-year endeavours which entail a wide array of activities. This can range from providing research funding to talented individuals in the UK and overseas, to informing international policy and public debates, to using the Academy’s convening power to showcase the value of international and interdisciplinary collaborations. These activities are designed to address today’s global challenges and ensure that the UK maintains its place as a world-leader in the social sciences and humanities.
You will work in a team of 19 to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the Academy’s programmes with a focus on a few specific programmes, which will be determined after appointment. Working closely with an International Programmes Manager and the wider International Funding Team, you will support the full lifecycle of our funding programmes from scheme set-up and application assessment to award monitoring and financial oversight. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, stakeholder engagement, and contributing to meaningful research impact on a global scale.
You will bring excellent communication skills, a positive and flexible approach, and a genuine interest in supporting research internationally. You will ideally have previous experience in grant management, pre- or post-award management or experience in the academic or funding landscape. Role outline and purpose
The Organising and Local Mobilisation (OLM) Manager is responsible for managing ongoing support to food banks as they organise and campaign for change. This varied, proactive, and fast-paced role will involve working closely with grant funded Local Organisers as part of Trussell’s Organising Programme, frequently visiting food banks and delivering online and in person training.
You will hold responsibility for providing direct support as food banks develop effective campaign strategies – covering local and Trussell priorities – and ensuring they have the capacity, skills, and resources to deliver them. You will also work closely with other departments at Trussell and external partners to support food banks outside of the Organising Programme to influence locally and play a leading role in mobilising them to campaign for change.
This role is part of Trussell’s Supportive Communities programme, the goal of which is to enable local communities to become places where people at risk of needing to use a food bank are supported and are using their agency to bring about meaningful changes that prevent anybody from needing emergency food. This role is focused on the successful delivery of the overall programme outcomes, contributing to the fulfilment of our long term vision of a UK without the need for food banks.
Role responsibilities
· Network area-wide delivery of the Organising Programme: Lead and manage the delivery of OLM’s Organising Programme in your network area, recruiting food banks to join, providing in person and online training and ongoing relational support to Local Organisers to ensure campaign strategies are developed and delivered. Organise and lead area-wide training, clusters, or events for food bank staff and volunteers to promote co-operation and sharing of good practice around local influencing.
· Training, learning and programme development: Play a key role in the design and delivery of a programme of training and other learning for food banks covering organising, mobilising, and influencing. Contributing to impact and process evaluations and assisting food banks involved to explore future sources of funding, as required.
· Supporting food banks to influence locally: Empower food banks to develop their local influencing work, triaging influencing issues and managing input from other relevant Trussell Trust experts to provide ongoing support that enables the food bank to progress their influencing work.
· Mobilising food banks in Trussell’s campaigns: Support the development and promotion of national Trussell policy campaigns, working with other teams and external partners to engage the food banks you support in taking action - including how they might take ownership of campaigns locally and help shape those priorities.
· Internal stakeholder engagement: Project manage OLM’s involvement in assigned cross-organisational projects – e.g. a policy campaign or strategic project, ensuring the OLM team are consulted, negotiating with other teams and making decisions accordingly. As part of an area-based matrix team you’ll work closely with other food bank facing staff to ensure a joined up approach to food bank support, effective communication, as well as sharing learning and best practice.
· External stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with food bank leaders, staff, volunteers, and trustees, as well as establishing effective partnerships with a range of stakeholders such as local authorities, community organisations, and churches.

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:
· Experience of delivering organising work and/or campaigning for change at a grassroots, local and/or national level.
