Context and Background

The NSPCC's mission is to end cruelty to children. In order to carry out its charitable work, we rely on the fundraising support of people across the UK for 90% of its annual income. Within Income Generation, our aim is to provide maximum resources for the NSPCC and children by working together to create the best possible donor experience by building long -term relationships to create a supporter experience which is different, better and more rewarding than that of supporting any other charity.

The Mass Participation Team (MPT) is an important part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships department within the Engagement and Fundraising directorate. MPT is responsible for attracting new supporters through our mass participation events and products to maximise fundraised income, and to optimise onward journeys to retain supporters within the NSPCC family.

The Mass Participation Team focuses on three areas of fundraising;

• Third party events – sporting and challenge events organised by third party suppliers, where we market spaces, recruit participants and support them in raising money in aid of the NSPCC. For example, the TCS London Marathon, Cardiff Half Marathon, Ultra Challenge series, skydives, bespoke treks.
• Schools Fundraising – a suite of fundraising products tailored to schools across all educational settings, including Number Day, the Kindness Challenge and Classmaster.
• DIY fundraising – supporters who choose to organise their own fundraising event or activity. Whether they take part with family or friends, at work or at school, we support them through stewardship and fundraising materials to help them reach their fundraising goals.

Job purpose

The role of the Fundraiser is to manage a number of events in the third party events portfolio. The Fundraiser will be responsible for working as a proactive member of the team to ensure that the participation levels and net income from each event/activity are maximised. The key aspects of the role are:

• To project manage specific event activities, co -ordinate cross fundraising activity, develop materials, keep track of budgets and evaluate as appropriate
• To develop specific activities and build existing activities to increase participation and income.
• Work closely with the team manager to identify and implement new opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness.
• Work as part of the Mass Participation Team to deliver the overall department objectives.
• Evaluate the performance of specific activities and to provide financial information as required.
• To work to deliver the agreed departmental strategy, goals and standards in line with business requirements.
• To work effectively with other departments in Fundraising and other functions within the NSPCC to maximise income.

Key relationships - Internal

• Reports to Fundraising Manager – Third Party Events team

• Work closely with colleagues in Engagement and Fundraising teams to develop opportunities, supporters and fundraising initiatives.
• Work with staff in other NSPCC functions such as Brand and Content , Digital, Data and Analytics , Volunteer Recruitment and Marketing, as necessary to further fundraising relationships.

Key relationships - External

• Works with a range of NSPCC event participants and potential supporters, including corporate partners, major donors and volunteer fundraising boards .
• Works with a range of event providers, agencies and other suppliers that support fundraising relationships and activity.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. To maximise income by engaging, managing and inspiring NSPCC event participants and event enquirers.
2. To use creative and engaging methods of communication including written and verbal communications in pre-event, event and post event activities, that fit with wider audience journeys and experiences.
3. To be responsible for delivering a supporter event experience that surpasses supporters’ expectations in order to maximise opportunities.
4. To ensure maximised effectiveness and efficiency of sporting events by planning and best practice
5. To proactively improve and capture knowledge and understanding of event participants through developing the NSPCC relationship with them, delivering greater insight that can be used to further develop supporter relationships to deliver increased lifetime value across all forms of support.
6. To research and develop fundraising opportunities in sporting events both by reviewing NSPCC activities and the activities of other charities.
7. To carry out research through a range of sources, to obtain relevant information that can contribute to improving event promotion effectiveness, the event participant experience, maximising participant sponsorship income and repeat participation levels.
8.  Work with their manager, to devise, agree and deliver particular aspects of the Mass Participation Team’s annual business plan and budget to enable the NSPCC to plan its activity and services.
9. To work with fundraisers and staff in other departments to maximise relationships with NSPCC supporters.
10. To be the contact for agencies and other suppliers who support fundraising, ensuring appropriate agreements are in place and that goods/services are delivered as agreed.

Responsibilities for all Staff within the Income Generation directorate

• To be responsible for updating databases and supporter information systems on a regular basis in line with Data Protection legislation and NSPCC policy and procedures to ensure all records are up -to-date and accurate.
• To lead regular team meetings and actively participate in department meetings, contributing to strategy, discussions and decisions which will be beneficial to the NSPCC’s development of fundraising activities.
• To maintain an awareness of own and others’ Health and Safety and comply with the NSPCC’s Health and Safety policy and procedures.
• To take personal responsibility for keeping up to date with NSPCC work to end cruelty to children, including securing updates on project and service developments and general NSPCC news and also ensuring that the fundraising team does likewise
• A commitment to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people

Person specification

We're looking for someone with experience of verging or similar church support work. Good social skills are essential as is the ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative.  The ability to work closely with and relate well to all Cathedral staff, ministry team, congregation, volunteers, visitors, and members of the general public will also be required. 

The two Assistant Vergers and Precinct Officers carry out a wide range of duties under the direction of the Head Verger and Precinct Manager.  Work includes: the careful setting up and delivery of all liturgical matters; ensuring a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for all working in, visiting, or using the Cathedral and Cathedral House and precinct and ensuring the day-to-day smooth running of the Cathedral for all.

Essential experience and skills

• A flexible attitude and willingness to take on a range of duties including practical ‘hands- on’ work.
• Attention to detail and an ability to assess priorities including when under pressure.
• Understanding of liturgy or willingness to learn.
• Ability to be a good team player and work collaboratively with Ministry Team and Lay Staff.

Overview

The CCSA is the trade association accelerating the commercial deployment Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (or CCUS) through advocacy and collaboration. Our ambition is to see CCUS developed and deployed at the pace and scale necessary to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 and deliver sustainable growth across regions and nations. We represent a wide variety of organisations with an interest in the development and deployment of CCUS across many applications to decarbonise industries, power, and hydrogen production, and remove carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere.

The CCSA operates as a not-for-profit company, overseen by a board of elected members. We have 22 staff across our London & Brussels offices.

The role

We are a dynamic and agile organisation looking for a proactive and confident Events and Membership Officer to support the delivery of events and services to our 120+ members. As we are small team, all staff have the opportunity to develop and own their own work streams. For this role, we anticipate that the successful candidate will become responsible for end-to-end event delivery, as well as taking the lead on oversight of the CCSA website. The role will be managed by the Events and Membership Communications Manager, but will also work closely with the Head of Membership and equivalent colleagues in our EU office.

What you will be doing:

Events delivery

Organisation and delivery of our annual programme of 30+ events, from our flagship conferences through to webinars, and smaller member events. Including:

• Delivering a structured programme of in person events, webinars, workshops and site visits.
• Managing delegate bookings and queries
• On-the-day event support at our events and external events
• Coordinating venues, logistics, suppliers and facilitators.[SP6]
• Organising our presence at external conferences including sponsorship/contra deals, speakers and exhibition stands
• Managing the production of marketing collateral to support our events including through digital channels

Membership

• Raise the profile of the CCSA and our work to members and stakeholders through our events, social media and website channels.
• Producing social media content especially focused on events and membership benefits and marketing material including written content, graphics and video.
• Delivery of three weekly newsletters as part of the wider communications team.
• Manage the administration and updating of the website and supporting colleagues to use it effectively and help us achieve our goal of becoming more ‘web centric.’
• Updating and managing membership and stakeholder records in Hubspot and associated databases.
• Improve data management and membership segmentation to improve and tailor member services and support projects.

Location/hours

This is advertised as a full-time role, for a fixed period of a year. However, we are open to part-time applicants for the right candidate. We operate a hybrid policy and the successful candidate will spend 2 days a week in our comfortable London office near beautiful St James Park, SE1. This role requires flexibility when it comes to in-person event support and delivery, so there will need to be occasional travel both in the UK and potentially across Europe and evening/early morning events.

We are recruiting a Challenge Events Fundraiser to grow PAPYRUS’ challenge event income by leading on allocated PAPYRUS own events, projects and campaigns and managing all third-party challenge events.

What you will do:

• Develop an events plan that will grow income using data from previous years to understand our supporters and build a creative and sustainable income plan for long term growth.
• Build and manage relationships with supporters across all communication channels and provide professional, relevant, timely and empathetic stewardship at all times.
• Raise awareness of PAPYRUS and its work by developing and delivering presentations and talks both online and face to face to supporters and facilitating necessary photo opportunities in line with GDPR for use if future promotional activity
• Manage costs and budgets for events, including forecasting, estimates and future year planning.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Previous experience of working in a fundraising role for a UK registered charity

About the role:

In recent years OTR has seen a significant increase in demand for our youth mental health services and we now reach over 17,000 young people each year. We are seeking a Head of Finance to oversee our (circa) £3m annual budget and to ensure that our finance operation is efficient and effective. This role will lead OTR’s finance function and, as well as having responsibility for day-to-day financial processes, will be a key member of the organisation’s senior leadership team (SLT). The role will involve providing financial insight to the SLT and Board of Trustees to improve understanding and inform strategic decision making. Examples of this will include analysing the financial performance of different activities of the organisation and preparing budget and forecast information. 

We are looking for an individual with demonstrable experience in a finance management role which includes a strategic focus, preferably in the voluntary sector. The successful candidate will be a flexible and meticulous individual who is able to present complex information to a range of audiences. Equally important is a strong personal interest in and commitment to the mental health and wellbeing of young people.

As Supporter Care Officer, you will be the first point of contact for our supporters, donors, members and the public, ensuring they have a positive experience. You will handle enquiries via phone, email and post, processing payments and maintaining accurate records. You will input data and use your IT skills to work with our database as well as Microsoft Office 365, predominantly Word, Outlook and Teams. You’ll have proven experience in a customer care role, handling a large volume of calls, and used to multi-tasking in a busy, fast paced office environment.

Role Summary

Events Delivery and Stewardship Intern
Salary: £24,785 per annum

East Anglian Air Ambulance is a regional charity that provides life-saving care across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and beyond. With two state of the art helicopters and a fleet of rapid response vehicles taking our crew of critical care paramedics and doctors to the scene of the incident, to provide advanced pre-hospital emergency medical care (PHEM).

About the role:

This internship provides practical experience in event management and participant stewardship, offering valuable skills for your future career.

We are looking for a passionate individual to help deliver our exciting portfolio of events. From skydives, treks, obstacle races and virtual events, the EAAA events team deliver a wide range of activity throughout the season.

This role with give you great exposure to all aspects of events delivery and engagement activity, essential to the participant’s experience and enjoyment, and the financial success of our events. You will undertake tasks including, but not limited to; the marketing of participant places, dealing with supporter enquiries, development of materials and collateral, event logistics and on event day duties.

You will work closely with the other members of the Events and wider Fundraising team, with the opportunity to see events from the planning stages through to delivery, and post event de-brief and evaluation.

About you:

You will be motivated and focused, looking to gain experience in the Events Sector.

You may have recently studied event management at college or be looking to utilise your transferable skills to move into the sector. This internship will offer you exposure and practical experience in the delivery of events and stewardship of participants, to the highest of standards.

With excellent organisation and communication skills, you will have an ability to manage a varied and busy workload.

You will be able to drive and due to the nature of the events, you will need to have a flexible approach to work so you can support out of hours work, including weekends. Time off in lieu is offered for additional hours worked.

You will live within our region, have a good knowledge of the area, believe in the work of East Anglian Air Ambulance, taken part in some events yourself and not be afraid of occasional wet weather – although it is (almost) always sunny at our events!

*This role will be worked a minimum of 3 days a week from our Norwich office which may increase in busier periods and up to 2 days a week from home. The exact days worked in the office will be agreed with the successful candidate, but you must live within a commutable distance of our Norwich office.

About this Internship

The Youth-Led Digital Campaigns Internship role is a twelve-month paid internship beginning in March 2026.

The Jack Petchey Internship development programme is designed for young people who are leaving further or higher education and starting out in the youth/charity sector - or young people who are looking to transfer into, or take their next career step in, the youth/charity sector.

The funding provides support to young people in London and Essex. We would therefore expect applicants to have a strong connection with London and ideally be currently living in or close to Croydon where our work is located.

Main purpose of this role:

We are looking for someone creative, confident and passionate about empowering young people. You will play a hands-on role in both the delivery and development of digital and media-based opportunities for young people, while helping to shape and deliver Reaching Higher’s youth-led digital fundraising and media strategy.

This internship will give you the chance to gain valuable experience across media, marketing, and youth work-alongside training, mentoring, and networking opportunities with other interns from youth organisations across London and Essex.

We are looking for applicants with some experience in the youth work sector (this could be in a voluntary capacity). The successful applicant will understand our organisational values and culture and demonstrate a strong desire to contribute to Reaching Higher’s vision to empower young people to be leaders of their own lives.
