The Executive Assistant is a senior member of the Lead Bishop's Office, working closely with the Lead Bishop and Chaplain to extend and enable the Bishop's ministry and leadership across the Diocese of York. The postholder will provide proactive, strategic and highly professional executive support, ensuring that the Bishop's time, priorities and resources are used effectively in support of the Diocese's mission and ministry.

The Executive Assistant will act as a trusted colleague, organiser, coordinator and facilitator, helping to respond efficiently to a high volume of correspondence and invitations, to ensure that the Bishop is well prepared for meetings, visits and key decisions, that actions are followed through effectively, and that those who engage with the Bishop's Office receive a welcoming, responsive and pastorally sensitive service.

The role requires sound judgement, initiative, discretion and resilience, together with the highest standards of confidentiality, discretion and professional integrity. The ability to build positive relationships across the Diocese, the wider Church, civic life and local communities. The work is varied, demanding and often fast-moving. The successful postholder will bring a calm presence, excellent organisational skills, good humour and a commitment to supporting the flourishing of ministry and leadership in the Diocese of York.

Responsibilities

Executive Support to the Lead Bishop

• Provide high-level executive support to the Lead Bishop.
• Manage a complex and demanding flow of correspondence and diary, ensuring that responses, appointments and commitments align with the Bishop's priorities and strategic objectives.
• Exercise judgement in balancing competing demands on the Bishop's time and attention.
• Coordinate appointments, meetings, visits, engagements and public events.
• Organise travel, accommodation and associated logistics.
• Ensure the Bishop is fully briefed and appropriately prepared for meetings, visits, services and public engagements.
• Maintain oversight of actions requiring the Bishop's attention and ensure timely follow-up.
• Act as a gateway to the Bishop's Office, ensuring appropriate access while protecting time for priorities, reflection and decision-making.
• Lead on the Bishop's Office responsibilities as part of clergy appointment processes in the York Archdeaconry (as set out in the process document), working closely with the Archdeacon of York's Office and the Chaplain.

Coordination of the Bishop's Ministry

• Work closely with the Bishop and Chaplain to support the delivery of strategic priorities and objectives.
• Maintain awareness of forthcoming commitments, key developments and emerging opportunities across the Diocese, including a weekly diary meeting with the Bishop and chaplain, a quarterly look ahead and meetings with the Archdeacon's Office and the other Bishops' EAs for diary setting and coordination
• Assist in coordinating diocesan visits, consultations, celebrations, confirmations, services and events.
• Support the administration and coordination of the Ministerial Development Review (MDR) process within the Archdeaconry of York, working with relevant clergy, reviewers and diocesan staff to ensure reviews are arranged and completed in a timely manner.
• Support the implementation of initiatives led by the Bishop.
• Monitor progress against agreed actions and ensure appropriate follow-through.
• Help ensure that work streams involving the Bishop are effectively coordinated across diocesan structures and teams.

Correspondence and Communications

• Manage the Bishop's correspondence, emails and enquiries.
• Draft letters, emails, briefings, reports and other documentation on behalf of the Bishop.
• Ensure communications are timely, professional and pastorally sensitive.
• Deal appropriately with confidential, complex and sensitive matters.
• Maintain systems for tracking correspondence, decisions and actions.
• Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders to gather information and draft responses as required.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with clergy, lay leaders, diocesan colleagues and external partners.
• Act as a first point of contact for many individuals seeking to engage with the Bishop's Office.
• Liaise with churches, schools, charities, civic organisations, local authorities and national Church bodies as appropriate.
• Represent the Bishop's Office with professionalism, courtesy and hospitality.
• Support the Chaplain and Bishop in maintaining effective relationships across the Diocese and wider Church.

Meetings, Visits and Events

• Coordinate meetings, visits and events involving the Bishop.
• Prepare agendas, papers and supporting documentation.
• Arrange venues, hospitality, travel and practical logistics.
• Welcome visitors and guests to the Bishop's Office.
• Support significant diocesan occasions and civic engagements.

Office Management, Finance, and Administration

• Contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the Bishop's Office.

• Support effective information management and record keeping.
• Administer and keep records of the day-to-day financial processes from the Local Account and other charitable trusts and grants in the name of the Bishop.
• Work with the Bishop and Chaplain to complete the budget process for the Local Account
• To fill in and submit Quarterly Returns to the Church Commissioners for the Local Account
• Identify and implement improvements to administrative systems and processes.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure resilience and continuity across the office.
• Provide mutual support and cover for the Archdeacon's Personal Assistant during periods of annual leave or absence, ensuring that time-sensitive matters are addressed promptly and continuity of service is maintained.

Help lead the next chapter of an award-winning, volunteer-powered environmental charity

As we celebrate our 10-year anniversary, Shrewsbury Food Hub is looking for an inclusive, practical and strategically minded Executive Director to lead us through the next phase of our development.

We have a simple vision: a community where food is valued and not wasted.

Founded in 2016, we rescue surplus food seven days a week from local suppliers and redistribute it through charities, community groups, schools and Foodshares. In the year to March 2026 alone, we rescued more than 270 tonnes of food, with our work reaching an estimated 4,000 people every week across Shrewsbury and the surrounding area.

We have also developed a growing programme of community cooking, bringing people together to build skills and confidence, share food and strengthen community – while ensuring that good food does not go to waste.

The opportunity

Shrewsbury Food Hub has grown significantly over the past decade. Our next Executive Director will help us build on that success while strengthening the foundations beneath it.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead an established and much-loved local charity through a period of organisational development: bringing greater clarity, focus, structure and resilience while protecting the energy, relationships and community spirit that make the Hub special.

The Board is committed to focusing increasingly on governance and delegating day-to-day leadership and management to the Executive Director. You will bring successful senior leadership experience from a charity, social enterprise, public service or other purpose-led organisation, together with experience of shaping strategy, leading change and turning plans into results.

You will be financially astute, pragmatic and comfortable creating clarity in a busy organisation. Above all, you will be a genuine people leader: emotionally intelligent, approachable and able to build trust across a diverse community of staff, volunteers, trustees, founders and partners.

We don't expect our new Executive Director to be a specialist in everything. You may bring particular depth in operational and organisational leadership or in income generation, fundraising and external development. What matters is that you have credible experience of the other and the leadership ability to bring different expertise together.

Previous Executive Director experience is welcome, but is not essential.

Space4Autism has been a lifeline for autistic individuals and their families across Cheshire East since 2005. What started as a parent-founded, volunteer-run charity has grown into an organisation delivering over 4,000 activities a year - social clubs for children and young people, parent and carer support, services for autistic adults, an autism-friendly community café, a charity shop offering work experience for autistic adults, training and workshops, and space for private hire. Everything we do is guided by one simple promise: we listen, we help, we care. 

Now, as we grow, we need someone who can help us grow well - a Business & Operations Manager who will work hand-in-hand with our CEO to keep the organisation running smoothly, sustainably, and with the same care we bring to every family we support. 

The opportunity…

This is a hands-on senior leadership role for a pragmatic, confident operator who's just as comfortable in a budget spreadsheet as they are supporting a team, and who genuinely wants their work to change lives. You'll be a trusted partner to the CEO, taking ownership of the day-to-day so that strategy turns into action - across business planning, finance, funding, people, operations, and governance.

You'll report directly to the CEO and line manage the whole Space4Autism team, giving you real influence over how the charity runs and grows.

What you'll be doing…

Business planning & strategy: help shape, implement, and monitor our business plan, turn strategic goals into clear action plans, and keep leadership priorities, projects, and timelines on track. You'll attend Trustee Board meetings and bring your insight, challenges, and ideas to the table.

Budgets & finance: support budget planning, monitoring, and reporting, and keep a close eye on spend so we stay financially sustainable, working alongside our finance team and external accountants.

Funding & income: help drive our funding strategy and income diversification, track grant requirements and deadlines, and coordinate funding applications and stakeholder communications.

Operations: own the smooth running of the organisation day to day: improving systems and processes, spotting operational risks before they become problems, and supporting governance and compliance.

People Management & Leadership: line manage the whole team, lead on recruitment, and support onboarding, performance, and development, building a working culture that's positive, collaborative, and accountable.

Policy & governance: develop and maintain our policies and procedures, keeping us compliant with legislation and best practice, and supporting our wider governance and compliance reporting.

What we're looking for…

Since its founding, the charity has supported almost two million young people, working with a national network of schools, colleges and employer partners to level the playing field for young people who are educated in the state sector, with those that attend the best fee-paying schools. Having grown from its original speaker programme into a broader work experience offer, the charity is now the largest provider of work experience in the UK, with ambitious plans to ensure all young people have access to the workplace, whilst at school.

Role Summary

This is a genuine opportunity to contribute first-hand to the strategic running of a national charity, with close visibility of how the organisation is led and governed. You will be trusted with sensitive information, exposed to strategic decision-making, and given the chance to shape how the CEO's office and the wider senior leadership team (SLT) operate day to day.

Beyond the traditional diary, travel and correspondence duties, you will play an active part in the mechanics of governance and decision-making- supporting board meetings, tracking actions to completion, and ensuring that what lands on the CEO's desk is accurate, well-presented and ready to act on. You will also work closely with the newly appointed Project Management Office (PMO) Lead, helping ensure that updates on risks, issues and KPI tracking reach the CEO promptly and in a digestible form, so that the CEO's time and attention are focused where they are needed most. It is an ideal role for an experienced EA or Personal Assistant who wants more ownership, more variety, and closer involvement in the strategic life of an organisation than a traditional support role typically offers.

This role offers direct exposure to the strategic and governance rhythm of the organisation- from board papers to senior stakeholder meetings- for someone who wants their EA experience to build towards broader organisational and governance expertise.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Supporting the CEO:

• Proactively manage the CEO's diary, resolving clashes and prioritising competing demands on their time in line with organisational priorities.
• Act as a first point of contact for the CEO, screening and triaging correspondence, calls and requests, and responding or redirecting where appropriate.
• Build strong working relationships with the CEO's key internal and external contacts, acting as a trusted and professional representative of their office.

Diary, Travel & Logistics:

• Coordinate complex diaries across multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, including scheduling and rearranging meetings at short notice.
• Book and manage travel, accommodation and venues, including researching options, managing costs, and having contingency plans in place.
• Prepare itineraries and briefing packs ahead of trips, meetings and events, ensuring the CEO is fully prepared.
• Process expenses and invoices relating to the CEO's activity in line with company policy.

Meetings, Minutes & Action Tracking:

• Attend meetings chaired by or involving the CEO to take accurate, concise minutes and notes, distinguishing decisions from discussion.
• Maintain a live action log across meetings, proactively chasing owners and reporting progress back to the CEO so nothing is missed.
• Organise logistics for meetings and away days, including rooms, catering, materials and technology.
• Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) Lead to ensure that risk, issue and KPI updates are routed to the CEO promptly and in a clear, digestible format, helping the CEO focus attention where it is most needed.
• Liaise with the PMO Lead on scheduling and papers for any meetings that bring project or programme updates to the CEO, ensuring consistency with the wider action and decision tracking maintained for the CEO's office.

Board & Governance Support:

• Support the coordination of board and committee meetings, including scheduling, collating and distributing papers to agreed deadlines.
• Take and produce minutes for board and committee meetings, working closely with the CEO (and Chair/Company Secretary, where applicable) on accuracy and follow-up.
• Maintain a board actions and decisions tracker, and support the CEO in preparing for board cycles.
• Maintain confidentiality and good document control over board papers, minutes and related governance records.

Document & Presentation Production:

• Produce first drafts of documents, reports, briefings and PowerPoint presentations for the CEO to review, amend and finalise.
• Format and polish documents and slide decks to a professional, consistent, on-brand standard.
• Review documents and correspondence prepared by others before they reach the CEO, checking for accuracy, clarity, tone and fitness for purpose, and flagging any concerns.

Support to the Senior Leadership Team:

• Provide reasonable and proportionate admin support to other members of the SLT, prioritised in agreement with the CEO.
• Minute meetings with senior internal and external stakeholders on behalf of SLT members, as required.
• Assist with occasional diary, travel or document support for the SLT where this does not conflict with the needs of the CEO.

Office & General:

• Maintain efficient filing, contact and information systems for the CEO's office.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sound judgement at all times.
• Undertake other duties reasonably commensurate with the role, as required by the CEO.

Skills / Experience / Knowledge:

Essential:

• Significant experience as an EA, PA or senior administrator supporting a CEO, director or other senior executive.
• Experience taking minutes and tracking actions for senior-level or board/committee meetings.
• Excellent written English, with the ability to draft clear, well-structured documents, correspondence and presentations.
• Expert in using common business software/ applications such as Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities under time pressure.
• Sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach, comfortable using initiative rather than waiting to be asked.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence and professionalism to liaise with senior stakeholders, board members and external contacts.
• Flexibility to travel to, and work from, the London office on a regular (weekly) basis, with occasional flexibility around hours for travel, events or board meetings.

Desirable:

• Experience supporting board or governance processes (e.g. in a charity, membership body, or regulated organisation).
• A relevant qualification (e.g. in business administration or executive PA practice), though experience will be weighted more heavily than formal qualification.
• Confident and effective use of AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to support drafting, summarising and formatting work- for example, producing first-draft documents, presentations or minutes for review, while applying good judgement on accuracy, confidentiality and when human review and rewriting is needed.
• Experience providing ad hoc support across a wider senior team, not just a single executive.

Annual Leave

The role

The People Operations Manager will be responsible for developing and embedding effective people, operational and organisational practices across The Carers’ Centre. The role will combine strong HR practice with a practical understanding of how the organisation operates, ensuring that managers have the tools, processes, guidance and confidence they need to lead effectively.

Key responsibilities

Human Resources

· Work with the Senior Management Team and People Sub Group in the development and implementation of a People Strategy.

· Ensure staff and volunteers receive relevant and timely training in line with organisational plans and commissioned contracts.

· Lead on supporting day-to-day performance management throughout the whole employment lifecycle.

· Be the first point of contact for HR queries from staff and managers.

· Monitor, report and respond to changing wellbeing needs of staff and volunteers.

· Serve as a point of contact between the charity and Stone King (or similar HR legal advice), Occupational Health, Access to Work and SafeHR.

Line Management

· Manages the administration and volunteer officers to help them maximise their potential and effectiveness.

· Provide guidance and clarity around priorities and goals, ensuring work plans are achieved.

Compliance

· Work with the Deputy CEO to ensure the charity is legally compliant in relation to all aspects of employment, equality and health and safety legislation.

· Ensure that policies and procedures are developed, maintained, and applied across the organisation.

· Provide guidance and support to staff to maintain compliance.

· Help the Health and safety lead to ensure risk assessments are up to date and ensure relevant actions are taken to mitigate risks for our premises and services.

· Work with the Data Protection Lead to ensure the charity’s day-to-day compliance with Data Protection policies and procedures.

Operational Practice

· Develop, document and embed effective organisational processes and ways of working, working with managers to ensure they are practical and consistently applied.

· Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidance and templates for key organisational processes.

· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and quality, making practical recommendations to the Deputy CEO.

· Support the implementation of organisational changes and new ways of working, ensuring that managers and staff understand their responsibilities.

· Build managers’ confidence and capability through practical advice, coaching and training on people management and organisational processes.

· Develop and deliver guidance or training for managers where common issues, new processes or changes in practice are identified.

Administration

· Oversight of the charity admin function.

· Maintain HR records using Safe HR.

· Process DBS checks.

· Provide HR KPI’s to the Deputy CEO on a monthly basis.

· Working with the CEO and Deputy CEO to undertake quality assurance assessments as agreed in the organisational plan.

· Provide admin support to the People Sub-Group.

Finance

· Work within agreed budgets.

· Contribute towards funding applications as appropriate for the role and provide relevant feedback for funders.

General

· Stay informed and regularly raise staff awareness of changes in employment legislation and Health and Safety 

· Adhere to the Carers’ Charter.

· Encourage carers to provide feedback on The Carers’ Centre services and to become actively involved in shaping future delivery.

· Ensure that you adopt good practice within the Carers Trust network.

· Ensure that you work within The Carers’ Centre policy framework.

The Programmes Executive plays a central role in making our weekly Drop-in a welcoming, well-organised and valuable space for homeless and vulnerably housed adults.

The Drop-in is the primary focus of this role. It is a hands-on operational and frontline position, with responsibility for helping the Drop-in run smoothly from preparation through to close. This includes managing deliveries and donations, ensuring the venue and kitchen are properly set up, organising resources, coordinating and briefing volunteers, working with security and overseeing the practical flow of the evening.

The role is about more than logistics. The Executive will be a key guiding presence in the space, helping to shape its structure, atmosphere and culture. They will be visible and approachable, build positive relationships with guests, anticipate and manage issues, support volunteers and help ensure that the Drop-in is calm, welcoming, safe and respectful.

The Executive will also listen to what is happening on the ground, identify what is working and what could be improved and feed this back to the wider team. They will help guests understand and access relevant RESTART LIVES programmes and opportunities. They will be an important part of the Programmes team, supporting essential data and reporting, researching and sourcing facilitators, helping with programme logistics, contributing ideas for new activities and opportunities for guests and attending selected sessions. As part of this, they will run or help to run some activities such as Zumba, film club and board games before the main Drop-in service. These provide another opportunity to build trusted relationships with guests and encourage engagement with wider support.

The Chief Operating Officer is one of three new senior leadership roles we're creating alongside our CEO, the first time OUTpatients has built a leadership team of this kind. It's a genuine opportunity to shape how a fast-growing charity operates, not simply maintain what already exists.

We Are Survivors is a survivor-focused voluntary sector organisation that aims to create and facilitate safe spaces for male (including trans and non-binary individuals) survivors of sexual harms across Greater Manchester, providing access to quality-assured support. Our work is focused on developing ways for individuals to empower themselves to work through personal and sometimes painful issues, guided and supported by our trauma-informed team, following the trauma and recovery model.

We are looking for an Executive Assistant who can work closely with our CEO and help them make the best use of their time, relationships and influence.

At the heart of this role is our ambition that no male survivor is left behind. You will support the CEO to keep that ambition visible in their day-to-day work, helping them stay focused on the conversations and opportunities that can create meaningful change for male survivors.

This is more than an administrative role. You will help the CEO manage their priorities and prepare for important meetings. You will keep track of commitments, follow up on agreed actions, and ensure the right information is available when needed. There will be times when plans change quickly, so you will need to be comfortable using your judgement and adapting your approach.

You will also help We Are Survivors engage and influence at the local, regional, and national levels. This could involve supporting contact with commissioners or government departments, preparing briefings for meetings, coordinating events and helping the CEO maintain strong relationships across the sector. Your work will help ensure that the experiences of male survivors are heard in the places where decisions are made.

As someone working closely with the CEO, you will often be a first point of contact for people inside and outside the organisation. You will need to be approachable while understanding the importance of confidentiality. You should feel confident managing sensitive information and recognising when something needs the CEO’s immediate attention.
