About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Creative Copywriter with a talent for developing compelling campaign concepts and communications that inspire action, deepen engagement, and grow fundraising income across audiences and channels.
Working as part of a friendly creative team alongside two designers, another copywriter, and a creative manager, you will develop strategically effective copy for fundraising campaigns, brand storytelling, digital marketing and supporter communications. You will play a key role in translating complex global issues into galvanising, accessible, human-centred narratives that motivate our audiences into action.
This role is ideal for someone with a deep desire to drive positive change and who combines excellent writing skills with strong conceptual thinking. You should be adept at tailoring narratives to resonate with diverse audiences, adapting your approach to meet differing needs and contexts.
Accountabilities:
Strategic storytelling and narrative
- Create engaging stories and case studies from raw transcripts and content gathered from across the organisation.
- Transform impact data and programme information – including methodology, context, needs, results and learning – into emotionally resonant narratives aligned with Practical Action’s strategic objectives.
- Ensure Practical Action’s tone of voice consistently reflects our organisational values and ethos, while embedding ethical storytelling standards across our communications.
- Convey Practical Action’s unique approach and value proposition in impactful, galvanising ways that further our mission to start the big changes the world urgently needs.
Campaign development and delivery
Develop original creative concepts for fundraising and brand campaigns that express the distinctiveness of Practical Action in a galvanising way.
- Collaborate with others in the creative team, the wider marketing directorate, and colleagues across the organisation to plan and deliver impactful multi-channel work.
- Write insights-based and results-oriented copy for a range of applications and audiences, including print and digital fundraising appeals, email and website content, and video scripts.
- Work collaboratively with multiple teams to shape campaign messaging, from initial concept through to production and sign-off.
Brand tone of voice and stewardship
· Maintain a consistent, compelling and emotionally resonant tone across channels, while adapting style and storytelling angles for different audiences, including individual giving supporters, institutional donors, and corporate and philanthropic partners.
· Bring our brand personality principles to life through your work, modelling best practice and championing their application across the organisation.

The Creative Copywriter will be expected to:
Influence and constructively challenge stakeholders to strengthen creative output and campaign effectiveness.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues across the Fundraising, Marketing & Communications directorate, and beyond, to develop impactful results-focused campaigns and insights-based storytelling.
Work closely with designers, communications colleagues globally, technical experts, and audience owners to co-create integrated, distinct, and compelling communications aligned to our fundraising and positioning objectives.
Engage effectively with external partners, including agencies and freelancers, to deliver high-quality outputs in partnership.

This is an opportunity to join our Individual Giving team as a Retention Officer, with two roles available within the Retention function. About the role
The Head of Income Generation is a new and important leadership role within Stonewall Housing, created to grow and diversify our voluntary income and support the next stage of our development as a nationwide LGBTQ+ housing and homelessness charity.
Reporting to the Director of Development, you will lead the development and delivery of ambitious income generation plans, with a particular focus on significantly growing income from corporate giving and partnerships.
You will build on Stonewall Housing’s existing corporate relationships while identifying and securing new opportunities across the UK. This will include strategic and commercial partnerships, Charity of the Year relationships, corporate donations, corporate foundations, employee fundraising, sponsorship, cause-related marketing and other opportunities for businesses and their employees to support our work.
You will develop compelling partnership propositions, lead applications and pitches, build relationships with senior decision-makers and create opportunities that deliver sustainable income alongside wider value for Stonewall Housing and the LGBTQ+ communities we support.
Alongside your focus on corporate income, you will work across Stonewall Housing’s wider fundraising portfolio, contributing to the development and growth of individual giving, major donor fundraising, community fundraising and other voluntary income streams. You will identify opportunities for different areas of fundraising to complement one another and create meaningful pathways for supporters to deepen their relationship with Stonewall Housing.
This is a senior role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on income generation. You will be as comfortable developing an income strategy and managing a pipeline as you are writing an application to a corporate foundation, pitching a partnership, meeting a prospective supporter or developing a new fundraising opportunity.

The Leeds Mind Youth Panel Network is an exciting new youth-led social action programme funded by The National Lottery Community Fund through the #iwill Fund. Job Purpose
The newly appointment Energy Adviser is to provide 1‑to‑1, face‑to‑face energy advice, including home visits, to the local community and residents experiencing fuel poverty and energy‑related issues. The role is focused on supporting vulnerable people, including disabled people, older adults, and those on low incomes, to improve energy efficiency, manage bills, and access appropriate support.
Key Responsibilities:
Advice, Casework and Targets
- Provide 1‑to‑1, face‑to‑face energy advice appointments, including home visits.
- Support vulnerable households, ensuring advice is accessible, inclusive, and person‑centred.
- Offer tailored guidance on:
- Reducing energy usage and costs
- Understanding bills, meters, and tariffs
- Heating systems and basic energy efficiency measures
- Fuel debt, payment plans, and priority services registers
- Accessing grants, discounts, and energy‑related support schemes
- Assist clients with energy correspondence and form‑filling where required.
- You will be part of a larger team working together to reach specific delivery targets.
Outreach and Events
- Deliver outreach sessions, information stands, and workshops in community venues.
- Attend and support community events to promote the charity’s energy advice services.
- Work proactively to reach under‑represented or harder‑to‑reach groups.
Safeguarding
- Undertake lone working, including home visits, in line with organisational lone‑working policies.
- Identify and appropriately respond to safeguarding concerns, following charity procedures.
- Maintain personal safety and professional boundaries at all times.
- Onward referral to local provision for complex cases or support needs beyond our scope.
Administration and Partnership Working
- Maintain accurate case records, monitoring outcomes and impact.
- Work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external partners such as local authorities, health professionals, and voluntary organisations.
- Contribute to monitoring, reporting, and evaluation required by funders.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience of working directly with vulnerable people, including disabled people.
- Experience delivering energy advice would be a bonus, but not essential.
- A passion or interest in supporting the local community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills, with an empathetic non-judgemental approach
- Experience of delivering group and outreach sessions.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage own workload and ability to work independently.
- Good IT skills (email, case management, CRM system, data entry, reporting)
- Already have or committed to undertaking Level 3 City & Guilds Energy Awareness qualification within an agreed timeframe.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle and business insurance (desirable due to home visits).
