We are seeking to appoint a new Director of Member Engagement to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a critical role in strengthening AoC’s relationship with its member colleges at a time of significant change for the sector. 

The Association of Colleges (AoC) is the national representative body for further education colleges in England. We have very high membership numbers and recent surveys show that member satisfaction is also high, but the world is changing fast, and the expectations on and challenges for colleges are increasing. We need to respond to those changes and ensure our support and advocacy for our members remains high quality, respected and valued.

This is a newly created role to help us do that, reporting directly to the Chief Executive, with responsibility for leading AoC’s membership engagement, regional member services and governance offer, ensuring a coherent, high-quality and consistent experience for member colleges across England.

Everything we do at AoC is aimed at helping colleges deliver on their purpose and continue making an impact. Colleges educate and train 1.6 million people each year. As their not-for-profit membership body AoC:

• Influences government and local and national policymakers to create the environment for strong and sustainable colleges at the heart of the economy.
• Provides high quality professional support, advice and intelligence to meet the needs of every member college.
• Champions and enhances the reputation of colleges, leaders, staff and students.

With a strong financial base and a strong team of passionate and highly dedicated staff, AoC will launch our new strategic plan in September 2026. The new Director of Member Engagement will provide strategic leadership to AoC’s regional structure, drive proactive and data-informed engagement with members and stakeholders, and be a part of the overall senior leadership team. This role will help maintain our position as a trusted, influential and indispensable partner to colleges at both national and regional level.

This exciting role will lead on all aspects of the finance function, including managing managing the Finance & Systems Officer, overseeing the production of year-end accounts in collaboration with internal stakeholders and auditors, and preparing monthly management accounts for reports to the Senior managers and trustees. Release Counselling and Therapy for Women is entering an exciting new chapter. 

Founded in Brighton and Hove in 2013, Release has grown from a small local charity into a financially robust organisation with a growing national reach. Under the leadership of our outgoing CEO, the charity has been transformed—moving from a challenging financial position to one with strong reserves, clear sustainability, and ambitious plans for growth. 

We now provide affordable 1:1 online counselling to women across the UK, alongside specialist group programmes supporting maternal mental health and key life transitions. One-to-one counselling is a core offer and a vital income stream, enabling us to extend our reach while staying true to our values. 

This period has also seen Release grow to working with over 20 dedicated volunteer counsellors, strengthening our capacity and community impact. 

As our CEO steps down, Release is ready for its next phase—building on strong foundations, amplifying our national impact, and remaining firmly rooted in our purpose: being a charity that supports women’s mental health, run by women, for women.

We are seeking a passionate and community-focused Community Engagement Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in strengthening community connections, supporting vulnerable residents, and delivering inclusive programmes that make a meaningful impact. 

Working closely with the Community Development Manager, you will lead on engagement activities, coordinate community events, support advocacy work, and help activate our community garden. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Build strong, positive relationships with local residents and stakeholders. 

• Increase engagement and participation in community activities. 

• Organise trips, community meals, and celebrations as part of our Welcome Project for migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, and for larger community events for key faith and cultural events. 

• Assist community members with form filling, signposting, and general advocacy support. 

• Oversee the upkeep and activation of the community garden, encouraging participation and engagement. 

• Hours: 37.5 per week 

• Salary: £57,000 per annum 

• Contract: Permanent

The Director of Finance, Corporate Services & Income is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring Advonet is financially sustainable, well-run and resilient. The role provides strategic financial leadership, oversight of corporate services, and a significant focus on income generation and diversification.  

This role plays a critical part in strengthening Advonet’s long-term viability by improving financial decision‑making, embedding a culture of income awareness and diversification, and enabling managers and teams to contribute confidently to business development activity.

Dog Aid Scotland

Dog Aid Scotland is celebrating its 70th anniversary of creating and protecting loving homes across Scotland. The charity helps keep dogs with their owners whenever possible and when that’s not possible, we find dogs new homes, giving them hope for a future.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a long-standing charity entering a period of growth and investment with a focus on helping many more dogs and their owners. The charity will look to increasing the scale of its work, significantly increasing awareness of the importance and impact of Dog Aid Scotland while ensuring financial sustainability through fundraising and income diversification.

Role Description

The Head of Income and Engagement is responsible for diversifying and growing Dog Aid Scotland’s fundraising income streams as well as overseeing the charities strategic communications and marketing activity. Reporting directly to the CEO, the postholder will develop and deliver a comprehensive Income and Engagement Strategy that ensures sustainable income growth, deepens supporter engagement and increases awareness of this long-standing charity. As well as working at a high level, this will be a hands on, operational role which is expected to work directly with donors and lead on fundraising activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of Income and Engagement Strategies aimed to grow income sustainably and significantly increase awareness of the charity
• Grow income from individual giving, regular giving, fundraising events and legacy giving, whilst looking to develop further income streams such as major donors, trusts and foundations in future.
• Develop strong donor journey that's engaging, from recruitment and stewardship to longer term donor retention.
• Create and deliver engagement strategy focused on growing brand awareness, deepening engagement and understanding of the charity, its impact and services.
