Job description

Deputy Clinical Lead - End of Life Urgent Care Service (EOLUCS) (Band 6)

Salary: £39,060 - £47,034 Per Annum, Depending on Experience

Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week

Permanent

Full-Time

Our client is looking for an experienced and compassionate registered nurse to join their Hospice as Deputy Clinical Lead within their End of Life Urgent Care Service. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of responsive, high-quality end of life care in the community, helping patients remain in their preferred place of care and avoid unnecessary hospital admission.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Support the Clinical Lead in the operational management and day-to-day delivery of the EOLUCS team.
  • Provide clinical leadership, specialist assessment and decision-making for patients receiving end of life care in the community.
  • Help coordinate workloads, support team development and contribute to service improvement.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external health and social care partners to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care.
  • Deputise for the Clinical Lead when required.

WHAT OUR CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR

  • Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Experience of clinical leadership, team coordination and supporting staff development.
  • Strong assessment, communication and partnership-working skills.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate end of life care.
  • Experience in palliative and end of life care, community care, or complex care coordination would be advantageous.

WORKING PATTERN

This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week, with working pattern options including 5 days per week or compressed hours across 4 days. The role is primarily based at the Hospice with community visits as required.

If you are a motivated and compassionate nurse leader who is passionate about improving end of life care, they would love to hear from you. Join them in making a real difference to patients and families across their community.

Our client is an equal opportunities employer

They welcome applications from all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. They assess candidates based on skills, experience, and qualifications — not background or personal circumstances. As part of the Disability Confident scheme, they guarantee an interview to all disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria. Having a criminal record won’t necessarily bar you from employment; decisions are made based on role requirements and individual circumstances.

Unfortunately our client isn't able to sponsor individuals to work in the United Kingdom.

Closing Date: 23:59 Sunday 28 June 2026
1st Interview Date: Wednesday 8 July 2026
2nd Interview Date: To Be Arranged
