Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for all refurbished devices, ensuring consistently high standards for resale or donation

2. eCommerce & Sales Support

· Work closely with the Multi-Channel Sales Executive to support online sales activity

• Help identify which devices are suitable for eBay versus community distribution
• Liaise with donor should there be any technical issues with devices
• Develop and implement ‘after-sales’ support for sold and donated devices.

3. Systems, Data & Infrastructure

• Oversee secure data wiping processes, ensuring full compliance with GDPR and data protection standards
• Manage the flow of devices through our CRM and inventory systems from donation to final use
• Maintain internal IT infrastructure, including network (Unifi Wi-Fi, LAN/WAN), patch panels, and server environment (IIS)
• Support hardware and systems including AWS environment, desktops, CCTV and display equipment
• Manage user accounts, backups, and disaster recovery processes to ensure continuity
• Provide general internal IT support across our systems

What We’re Looking For

Technical Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Hardware to include laptops, desktops, tablets and smartphone hardware repair, diagnostics, and refurbishment

The Operations Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring the effective day-to-day running of the charity. Working closely with the Business Development Manager and Board of Trustees, the postholder will oversee operations, finance, governance, and organisational systems to ensure the charity delivers high-quality services in line with its mission and strategic objectives.

The role will strengthen organisational sustainability through robust financial management, effective systems and processes, strong team leadership, and support for income generation activities.

The Operations Manager in conjunction with the Business Development Manager together form the CVS’s senior management team. They will ensure the charity operates in compliance with all regulatory requirements while maximising impact for beneficiaries and communities.

The main duties of the role

Centre Re-location

IntoUniversity Craigmillar is moving to a new centre location so a large part of this role will be to help the team with this move. This will include:

• To prepare and set-up, with the centre team, the centre space including preparing resources and organising tables and chairs as necessary.

• Moving furniture and building new furniture to furnish the space

• Create  IntoUniversity displays for the centre.

• To work with your team to plan and with the opportunity to deliver IntoUniversity programmes, including leading a group of 30 secondary students from the front, working with whole classes of primary-aged children and providing occasional one-to-one support.

Job Summary: The Operational Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership across regional and national services ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, innovative and evidence-informed services.

Help keep RideWise moving - coordinating the people, systems and services that make greener, more inclusive travel possible. This is a varied, home based role with flexible time for someone who loves organising people, solving problems and making sure community services run brilliantly.

RideWise is an East Midlands based charity helping people and communities travel more actively, sustainably and confidently. Through cycle training, led rides, community projects and practical support, we make cycling, walking and greener transport more accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Operations and Resource Manager to play a key role in the smooth running of our cycle training and sustainable travel services. This is a hands-on coordination role at the heart of our charity, supporting our freelance instructor team, operational systems, project delivery and client relationships.

You will help make sure instructors have the information, resources and support they need, that records and compliance documents are accurate and up to date, and that our services continue to be delivered safely, professionally and effectively. You will work closely with our Project Managers and wider team, helping to keep communication flowing and knowledge shared across the organisation.

This role would suit someone who enjoys bringing order to busy environments, is confident juggling priorities, and takes pride in making systems work well. You might come from an operations, administration, project coordination, training, community delivery or service support background. Experience in cycling, active travel, charities or community programmes would be helpful, but your organisation, communication skills and practical approach are most important.

The role is home-based, with very occasional travel to Nottingham (around once a year). You will be part of a friendly, purpose-driven team, with the opportunity to learn more about cycle training, Bikeability and sustainable travel delivery. There may also be opportunities to support or take part in cycle instruction, depending on your experience and interests.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-focused and calm under pressure; someone who can work independently while staying connected to a small team. You will be helping RideWise grow its impact, support instructors well, and deliver high-quality services that make a real difference in communities.

Orbis UK is an affiliate of Orbis International, an eye care charity that transforms lives through the prevention and treatment of avoidable blindness and visual impairment.

Over 1.1 billion people live with vision loss in the world today. Yet for a staggering 90% of these people, visual impairment is treatable or could have been prevented.

Orbis UK (Orbis Charitable Trust) is a registered charity in the UK and raises income from funders across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, towards our global commitment to eliminate avoidable blindness. In 2025, the UK team raised £10m.  These funds supported 18 projects across 8 countries. With these funds we delivered 9,908 training sessions for health workers, enabled 469,287 eye screenings, 37,378 treatments and delivered 2.5m doses of antibiotics to tackle trachoma.

Our ambition is to grow our income consistently over £10 million per year within the next five years.

About the role

Orbis UK is offering the role of Senior Finance Officer, as the organisation seeks to grow and build on past successes to reach its target of achieving £10m income in the next 5 years.

This role is vital in order to support a highly performing group of staff as we seek to transform lives through the prevention and treatment of blindness. This role will sit within the Finance Team, which is responsible for the day-to-day finance operations of the organisation supporting both the Finance Manager and the Director of Finance and Operations in processing payments, payroll, journals, bank reconciliations and other key financial tasks needed for the successful running of a small international charity.

This is an ideal role for someone who has an appetite for growth in their skills and knowledge and who has an aptitude for process and structure, which is critical when helping to manage the resources of an organisation, ensuring financial discipline and effective controls are maintained throughout. This role would be perfect for any candidate looking to further their career in finance and accountancy and you will be supported by a team of experienced accountants to guide and train you as well as provide you with plenty of development and learning opportunities, especially in pursuit of an accountancy qualification.

Working within a team where new ideas are promoted and encouraged under an experienced Finance Manager, this role provides the perfect opportunity for the postholder to take ownership and make demonstrable change within a thriving international NGO.

We are looking for someone who has excellent, demonstrable financial acumen and experience, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, who can demonstrate an ability to learn with a thirst for new ideas. A high degree of IT proficiency is important as the organisation seeks to use technology, including Artificial Intelligence, to work more effectively for the achievement of growth in the organisation. Knowledge of the NGO sector is desirable, but we are open to applications from across disciplines and expertise if you can demonstrate your aptitude for the role with a hunger to learn. Applications from candidates seeking to work part time (30 hours per week) will be considered for the right candidate, which can be worked flexibly.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

• To provide effective financial support to the Finance team and the wider organisation to ensure the smooth running of the charity.
• To ensure business continuity is maintained through the management of the purchase ledger function, including BACS, online banking payments and the review of expenses and credit card payments, payroll, income and bank reconciliations and other key tasks needed to ensure financial reporting can be made on schedule and in line with statutory, audit and trustee deadlines.
• To be organised, have excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage a changing workload.

Working closely with colleagues, they will ensure that the cleft community is at the heart of everything we do, championing engagement, inclusion and co-production across all activities. They will create and enable a spectrum of meaningful involvement opportunities that support CLAPA’s work, amplify the voice of the cleft community, shape the future of our services and enable change. They will demonstrate the impact of involvement and enable us to continuously improve.
