St. Hilda’s East (SHE) is a local charity which aims to combat the challenges arising from deprivation and social exclusion through the delivery of a wide range of engaging activities which promote wellbeing and social connections. Located in Tower Hamlets, our services include pre-school sensory play, youth programmes, social activities and support for older people, advice, a food co-operative, wellbeing activities for people experiencing mental health issues, and volunteering placements.

Founded in 1889 by alumnae of Cheltenham Ladies’ College, we now work from two sites – our large, friendly community centre located in Shoreditch and an Elders Day Centre for the Bangladeshi and other communities in Shadwell. At our Shoreditch community centre, we deliver a wide range of services, activities and events and provide office and meeting space for other organisations. We also manage 2 neighbouring buildings which are tenanted.

Job Purpose:

Working from St. Hilda’s East Community Centre in Shoreditch, the Facilities Assistant will support the Head of Operations, in the day-to-day running and improvement of SHE’s buildings and spaces – ensuring they are tidy, safe, clean, fit for purpose and welcoming. This will involve improving and implementing best practice procedures primarily regarding facilities and all elements of health and safety across both our sites - ensuring that we comply with regulatory standards.

Hybrid working

The CSP operates a hybrid working model, allowing employees to work between their home and the office. While we do not stipulate the number of days in the office, employees can decide, through discussions with their line managers, how, when, and where they work best, balancing the needs of the CSP, the team, and themselves. Employees are still expected to attend the office for in-person meetings when required for their role and the organisation. About the Role  

The Human Resources Manager owns the planning and delivery of a progressive and proactive HR operations function. You will act as a key advisor to the CEO and leadership group in the management of HR related matters.

You will use sound judgement to balance reactive employee relations work with longer-term strategic priorities. You will manage a busy ER caseload, advising on performance, absence and sickness management and recruitment, as well as ensuring good HR administration throughout the employment life cycle. In this role as a Money & Me Navigator, you will proactively identify people with mental health issues whose lives are being impacted due to financial concerns, at places like GP surgeries and community-based organisations.

Money & Me Navigators are well positioned to support those who are less likely to come forward for support or reluctant to access mental health care due to stigma or discrimination.

You will provide one to one and/or group support, using trauma informed approaches, to empower people with mental health issues whose lives are being impacted due to financial concerns. By doing this, you will support people to become more resilient and better able to deal with problems they may have in the future.

Actively seek out potential referrals and promote the service within primary care settings and the community. You will build relationships with other agencies that support people with financial concerns, for example welfare rights services, housing organisations, faith-based organisations.

In this role you will also support our Welfare Rights & Debt Advice Team with administration and support the clients to access higher levels of advice including completion of forms.

About Money and Me

We know that poor mental health can make earning and managing money harder, and that worrying about money can make our mental health worse.

Money & Me aims to equip people with the understanding, self-compassion and practical tools to navigate and get around those barriers to financial wellbeing. Co-designed by people who have lived experience of money and mental health problems, alongside mental health and financial professionals, we work with individuals and in group settings.

Money & Me is a psychoeducation course that supports people experiencing mental health problems to improve their financial wellbeing. Over 8 sessions, people work with a trained mental health navigator to explore their relationship with money, set personal goals, and build a toolkit of practical strategies they can use to manage their money and mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of clients, providing goal-oriented support for up to 8 weeks.
• Facilitate group sessions for individuals with mental health and financial struggles.
• Promote the service within primary care and community settings, building relationships with agencies like welfare rights and housing organisations.
• Support clients to access higher levels of advice and complete relevant forms.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure client safety.
• Record case notes accurately and use data to evaluate service effectiveness.

Founded in 2018, Let’s Talk About Loss supports young adults aged 18–35 who are bereaved, creating safe, supportive spaces to talk openly about grief. We are a small, values-led charity with a national reach, built on the power of community, peer support and shared experience.

Tools With A Mission (TWAM) is a Christian charity dedicated to empowering people to create their own livelihoods. We collect unwanted tools from across the UK, refurbish them into professional trade kits, and ship approximately 25 containers - over 200 tonnes of equipment - annually to support around 500 skills training centres, churches and charities in seven countries. 

As Logistics Coordinator, you will oversee our ʻlocal-to-globalʼ supply chain, ensuring that refurbished toolkits reach our partners in Africa efficiently. You will plan shipping loads, prepare and coordinate shipping, control stock and inventory, liaise with stakeholders, control and analyse costs and movements, and network with in-country teams and recipients.

The Finance & Operations Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for the financial sustainability, compliance and operational effectiveness of the charity. The postholder will lead all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, rent and service charge accounting, housing benefit income and statutory reporting.

In this key role you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Negotiating Officer to manage and support our stewards, safety and equality representative networks across North London, supporting them in providing individual and collective industrial relations support to members, working both in and outside of the NHS. You will also be expected to spend approximately 25% of your time, managing cases from across the UK, but predominantly from nearby regions.

You will work in collaboration with other health trade unions across the region.

You will work with the CSP regional team to recruit and organise members, influence on local workforce issues and promote physiotherapy.

You will provide representation for members at disciplinary hearings, grievances and disputes with employers, and provide general advice and information to representatives and members on issues such as pay, terms and conditions, and employment legislation.

With significant trade union experience at a senior level, and an understanding of NHS structures and government policy on health, you will have excellent communication, negotiation, training and presentational skills, combined with a strong collaborative approach and a thorough understanding of, and commitment to, equality and diversity principles and the ability to put them into practice.

Early Literacy Interventionist (South London)

• In-school, 10 hours per week across 5 days working between 1pm and 3pm

Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you keen to work with children to support and develop their phonics and reading skills? 

37% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds left primary school in England in 2025 unable to read to the expected standard (KS2 attainment data 24-25) . Chapter One is a fast-growing charity, with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills they need to thrive. We work to ensure that all children have 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.

Our Early Literacy Intervention (ELI) programme (based on a model that serves 20,000 children successfully in the USA) provides daily, 1:1, 7 minute phonics sessions for children who are behind in phonics. Using a bespoke technology tool, a trained Early Literacy Interventionist works individually with target children. 

This ELI role, reporting to the Senior ELI Programme Manager, is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and grow their knowledge of phonics and/or their teaching skill set. It is ideal for someone with previous school experience who is looking for a new and exciting challenge.

You will conduct initial baseline assessments and then deliver differentiated, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach. Although you are employed by Chapter One, you will work closely with the school team to understand the progression of the school’s phonics teaching; establish tailored plans for each child and feedback on pupil progress. Using your knowledge and insight, you will also collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.

Operations Manager

This role sits at the heart of Beyond the Streets, making sure our people, systems and processes work well so that our services can thrive. You will be the person who keeps things moving – maintaining key systems, coordinating with our outsourced IT and finance providers, and ensuring colleagues have the practical support, information and equipment they need to do their jobs effectively.

This is a varied, people-focused role that requires excellent organisation, initiative and flexibility. Your contribution will directly support colleagues across the organisation and play an important role in the effectiveness, reliability and wellbeing of our operations and services.
