As Development Officer (Income Maximisation in Schools) you will play a lead role in looking at the actions needed at different levels to sustainably embed advice in schools across Scotland. You’ll be involving and engaging schools, advice services and other partners to develop practical recommendations which can be used to improve provision nationally. You will also be helping to develop resources and professional learning to increase awareness and confidence in schools around financial entitlements and pathways to income maximisation support.
You will be based within the Cost of the School Day team at CPAG in Scotland and will work closely with Welfare Rights, Digital and Policy colleagues.

About the role
Project Assistants play a key role in delivering a range of services that ensure our guests have a safe and happy Christmas. From healthcare and catering to advice and wellbeing services such as arts and crafts and salon, our services can make a real difference. You will support with the recruitment and management of Crisis at Christmas volunteers and external partners to help deliver services, ensuring teams have all the information and equipment they need. This is a varied role including processing volunteer applications, creating comms materials, managing and communicating schedules, organising training, organising and setting up kit, ensuring our teams of specialists have the equipment and materials they need as well as getting stuck in and helping out directly once our centres open.

Hereford Cathedral is recruiting a Visitor Engagement Assistant to join its Visitor Engagement Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract funded by the Cathedral Sustainability Fund. This varied, people-focused role will support the cathedral’s ministry of welcome and help provide an excellent, inclusive experience for visitors, pilgrims, volunteers and group organisers.
Working closely with the Visitor Engagement Manager, you will welcome visitors, support the Box Office Desk, assist with ticket sales and bookings, coordinate group visits and visitor activities, and help keep visitor areas and information well presented. You will also support volunteers on duty, including Guides, Museum Volunteers and Welcomer Volunteers, through rotas, communication and day-to-day guidance.
The post is 19.5 hours per week on an alternate-week pattern: 10:00–17:00 Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday one week, then 10:00–17:00 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the next. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, with time off in lieu for agreed overtime.
Salary is £23427 (FTE) per annum, with an 8% employer pension contribution. Working alongside the Operations Officer, you will assist with a wide range of operational activities including supporting Christmas centres, coordinating transport and logistics, maintaining relationships with schools, hotels and other venue providers, and helping to manage warehouse operations.
This is a varied and hands-on role that involves working with volunteers, external partners and colleagues across the Christmas team. You'll support everything from maintaining operational records and schedules to assisting with centre setup and close down, vehicle coordination and stock management. No two days are the same, and you'll play a key role in helping us deliver vital services to people experiencing homelessness during the Christmas period.

Location and Working Hours
This is a home-based role with flexible remote working arrangements. Regular travel across the UK is required to support conferences, trustee and committee meetings, planning days, and other organisational activities. On average, this is expected to be around once a month, although the level of travel will go up and down, with some periods busier than others. As our first Philanthropy and Major Gifts Officer, you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Fundraising to bring our new strategy to life, shaping how we engage major donors and grow a powerful community of supporters who are motivated to stand alongside Single Homeless Project (SHP) and our clients.
