Role

Sexual violence in prisons has long been ignored, leaving men without adequate support. Over the past year we have been part of a committee with HM Prison Service, Metropolitan Police and NHS England to develop a Service Level Agreement on responding to serious sexual assaults within prisons in London.

This three-year NHS-funded pilot is designed to:

• Train prison staff to understand the impact of sexual violence on male, boy, and non-binary prisoners.
• Raise awareness of sexual violence within prisons and equip staff with the tools to respond appropriately.
• Establish and strengthen referral pathways for survivors in London prisons.
• Gather key insights to inform future service provision and systemic change.

As a Trainer on the Prison Project you will work alongside two dedicated therapists. By embedding trauma-informed approaches within the prison system, this role will empower staff, improve survivor outcomes, and lay the foundation for long-term change in how sexual violence in prison is addressed.

Main responsibilities include:

• Deliver comprehensive training sessions to prison staff, healthcare teams, mental health professionals, probation officers and other key stakeholders.
• Develop bespoke training materials, toolkits, and resources to support ongoing learning for prison staff.
• Facilitate reflective practice sessions (‘trauma clinics’) to help staff process and improve their responses to survivors.
• Work closely with prison leadership teams to embed best practices into their safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Liaise with the Young People’s Therapist and Adult Therapist to align training with the therapeutic support available in prisons.
• Gather insights from prison staff on barriers to disclosure and challenges in supporting survivors.

The Compliance & Recruitment Officer plays a vital role supporting the Recruitment and Compliance Team Partners to ensure that our recruitment and onboarding processes for permanent staff, temporary workers, and volunteers align with regulatory requirements and maintain the integrity and compliance of our hiring practice.

As a Compliance & Recruitment Officer you will deliver a high quality and responsive service to prospective candidates, recruiting managers and business stakeholders. In addition, you serve as a subject matter expert to the People Team and the wider organisation, ensuring that we prioritise the safeguarding of the children and young people right from the start of an employee’s recruitment and onboarding journey. 

Skills and Responsibilities 

On-Boarding & Compliance

• Coordinate all aspects of the onboarding and compliance process and ensure that the processes are completed accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner, including: issuing contracts, pre-employment compliance checks, and keying new starters/setting up new starters on the onboarding system.
• Ensure the accurate entry and maintenance of data onto the relevant HR Systems/ spreadsheets, by employing robust quality assurance and due diligence measures.
• Be the subject matter expert for Access Recruit & Onboarding and Better Impact for the team, the candidates/onboardees and the wider organisation
• Monitor and maintain ongoing compliance requirements across staff files, including (but not limited to): Right to Work documentation (i.e. valid Visas and passports); Professional Registrations; Dr’s professional insurance, etc.
• Ensure that all aspects of DBS process are managed in accordance with policy/procedures
• Assist the Recruitment & Compliance Manager in preparing, analysing and producing relevant reports and statistics.
• Conduct audit checks on new starters, volunteer and temporary worker files and report back to team to ensure continuous improvement and accuracy of data collected.
• Coordinate and/or supervise a regular and continuous calendar of personnel file reviews and audits, to ensure and maintain regulatory compliance, and where relevant escalate non- compliance issues to the Compliance Partner and/or the Recruitment & Compliance Manager.
• Assist in the coordination and delivery of an annual audit of CQC and Ofsted standards, across relevant business areas, e.g. The Children’s Trust School.
• Proactively maintain an up-to-date knowledge of our associated regulatory requirements, highlighting any updates and subsequent implications as soon as reasonably practical.
• Impart expertise and knowledge by delivering training sessions for new starters on compliance processes.
• In collaboration with the Organisation Development Team ensure the delivery of a seamless and engaging On-boarding and Induction experience for new staff and volunteers.

Recruitment & Selection

• Be responsible for the recruitment, on-boarding and compliance process for all types of permanent employees, Bank employees, temporary workers and volunteers. 
• Maintain the administration of recruitment and onboarding records, ensuring that these are complete and accurate
• Ensure all recruitment activities and the candidate life-cycle are underpinned by our Promises, whilst adhering to current employment legislation including Disclosure & Barring Service, Care Quality Commission, Ofsted, KCSIE and all policies and procedures
• Maintain an up-to-date list of vacancies, and ensure that all vacancies are advertised internally and/ or externally, in a timely manner.
• Support the Recruitment Team in the review and implementation of new and progressive recruitment initiatives, e.g. Employee Referral Scheme; Graduate Programmes; Apprenticeships; and overseas recruitment, with a view to increase the diversity and skill set of our workforce, across the organisation.
• Support the Recruitment & Compliance Partners with advertising vacancies, as well as the organisation and delivery of recruitment events and campaigns.
• Support the Recruitment & Compliance Manager with Bank Administrator recruitment and management of assignments.
• Supervise and coordinate the daily work tasks of team Bank Administration or Volunteer support, ensuring that all administrative aspects of the recruitment process are delivered to regulatory standards, on time and in a professional manner.

People Team Support

• Where required, contribute to the collation of relevant recruitment and compliance data, ensuring that these are complete and accurate, in order to support the preparation, analysis and production of relevant service reports, e.g. recruitment KPIs, time to hire (on-boarding KPIs), SCR school reports, right to work/visa reporting.
• Build strong internal and external relationships and provide a first class, added value service, to all staff and external partners/ customers.

We’re looking for a creative and collaborative Head of Programme Design to lead the Programme Design Team at BookTrust, as part of our central Research and Design function.

The role will cover evidence-informed, human-centred programme design across the full spectrum from new opportunity definition to programme iteration and continuous improvement. It will hold overall programme design accountability for our products and experiences designed for impact with primary audiences - delivery partners and families. 

We have a skilled Design team, experience of applying human-centred design approaches in programme design and strong organisational support for a design-led approach. The post-holder will lead our Programme Design approach to the next level of maturity and help it become even more embedded within the organisation. The post-holder will deliver excellent stakeholder stewardship around our programme design ensuring our detailed product design (e.g. with our communications, partnerships and books teams) stay true to our overall programme intent (ie. against objectives that will include impact and supporting income generation).

As Fundraising Lead- South, you will lead Philanthropy and Corporate fundraising across your region, developing relationships with high‑net‑worth individuals, senior business leaders and corporate partners. 

You will manage Centre Fundraising Managers, and support them on planning and prioritisation, work with Fundraising Boards as appropriate, and share best practice across Maggie’s. You will also help develop new fundraising opportunities.

About the role:

The prospect research and pipeline management role is pivotal to fundraising at Sue Ryder – you will sit within the Philanthropy and Partnership team and will be working across the Corporate, Trust, Major Donor and Regional teams. We are looking for someone who can support our fundraisers through prospect research, network mapping, lead qualification, and due diligence checks.

Most importantly you will be a proactive member of the team, joining us at an exciting time as we embark on our newly developed 5-year fundraising strategy. You will be a member of the team with the skills to review and develop the pipeline management process on our CRM (Raiser Edge NXT) ensuring the teams have access to dashboards, tracking their donors across the stages of solicitation. You will also provide insight reports into how well we are moving prospects through the pipelines and will have a voice to make recommendations. This role will also ensure we are working within data protection and fundraising regulations and both deliver and track our due diligence checks.

About you:

• Educated to degree level or with equivalent relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with prospect research tools and the ability to identify and recommend the best tools to support our work using the budget as cost effectively as possible.
• Thorough working knowledge of GDPR as it relates to major donor fundraising and the Fundraising Codes of Practice.
• Experience of undertaking due diligence checks on prospective donors and of setting up and implementing policies and processes to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build supportive and collaborative relationships with colleagues both across fundraising and the organisation including the ability to chair meetings and present data and insight.
• Experience of working on a variety of requests and ability to manage and prioritise workload whilst being responsive.

Essential Criteria:

• Previous experience of driving forward process improvements, implementing new processes or systems, and working with colleagues to embed change.
• Skilled at using a relationship management database (or CRM) to track prospects through the solicitation process, produce dashboards and reports and glean insight from data.
• Experience of delivering prospect research activities to identify and qualify leads for fundraising teams across corporate, trust and major donor income streams.
• Working knowledge of high value income streams and what will support fundraisers in achieving income growth.
• Experience of providing relevant high quality and accurate research profiles with developed research skills and attention to detail.
• Proven experience in identifying new high-value funding prospects from the database and other sources including major donors, corporate partners and trusts.

The Role 

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Policy and Public Affairs Manager to join our Research, Policy and Impact team. 

Supporting the Head of Cancer Insight, you will deliver, and keep under review the policy and public affairs strategy, including influencing at a local, regional, and national level, with the aim of helping the charity achieve its strategy and bringing benefit to the people of Yorkshire. You will have responsibility for the development of evidence-based policy reports and recommendations that can be used to influence a variety of audiences and project manage the development, delivery and evaluation of public affairs campaigns and events. As Policy and Public Affairs Manager, you will also act as a source of expertise across the organisation and externally on key policy areas and the wider policy environment.

Specifically, you will: 

Influencing 

• Support the further development, refinement and delivery of the charity’s policy and public affairsstrategy and impact evaluation process, to support the wider delivert of the charity’s strategic aims. 

• Oversee the development of insightful written materials and reports to aid influencing. 

• Lead the charity’s response to regional and national consultations relevant to cancer in Yorkshire, making a robust and evidence-based case for the charity’s position.

• Oversee the continued growth of the charity’s political monitoring work and ensure the effective pursuit of every opportunity offered. 

• Engage with regional and national decision makers to influence policy-making for the benefit of people in Yorkshire and beyond. 

• Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders across Yorkshire and beyond (such as DHSC, NHSE, Integrated Care Boards, Cancer Alliances, national policy groups, and other charities, to influence change based on policy recommendations.

• Evaluate the impact of policy and public affairs activity, with delivery of clear examples of external influencing.

Policy development 

• Ensure the continued development of the policy production and dissemination process, including the policy development pathway, internal/external dissemination and impact evaluation. 

• Lead the research, production and dissemination of high quality, evidence-based cancer-related policies and the strategic development of key policy recommendations. 

• Oversee regular updates of existing policies and position statements, ensuring they are in line with the latest evidence. 

• Ensure external insight is built into policies and policy development, such as gaining views from the Patient and Public Involvement Community, the inclusion of external patient and public contributors and endorsements from clinical and academic experts. 

• Oversee work with relevant internal teams to create key messages for a range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring these are in line with the latest evidence and are used correctly, and provide expert commentary on media stories. 

• Act as a source of expertise on the charity’s cancer-related policies and position statements, both internally and externally. Undertake media interviews as required to communicate key messages with the public.

Campaigns and Events 

• Project manage the development, delivery and evaluation of public affairs campaigns, in collaboration with the Brand and Relationships team where relevant, manage relationships with third parties to support campaign delivery where required. 

• Lead the outreach and delivery of influencing events, including visits to charity-funded projects and party conference activity. 

• Further develop and deliver a strategy for growing and maintaining a handraiser supporter base, to enhance campaigns activity. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To have a degree, preferably in a relevant subject area, for example public policy, public health, scientific, medical etc. 

• To have significantl experience of writing influencing materials such as briefings, letters, blogs, campaign materials.

• To have substantial experience supporting the implementation of high impact public affairs strategies that are designed to influence.

• To have experience of evaluating campaigns and assessing the impact of policy and public affairs activities. 

• To have excellent public affairs experience including understanding of local, regional and national government, the current health policy landscape as well as knowledge of UK parliamentary processes along with a proven track-record of engaging politically to make change happen.

• Delivered measurable growth in major donor and corporate income against agreed annual targets.

1- Purpose:

The P&C Business Partner drives the P&C operational effectiveness in Country Offices, facilitates organisational development and change and provides a framework for best people’s practice and quality standards.  The P&C Business Partner also supports the organization in developing and implementing initiatives that encourage diversity, promote equity, and support psychological and physical safety of the workforce.

2- Accountability & Responsibilities:

Operational delivery (40%)

• Provides advice and influences action on P&C global policies, and in collaboration with local P&C Specialists advices on local policies and employment law to staff and management based in COs.
• Supports the review and localisation of P&C policies and embeds best practice, ensuring local needs and culture are reflected.
• Works with CPCO, P&C  team, Global Directors of Country Offices and Logistics Manager to identity and mitigate people related risks in COs and prevent and resolve issues.
• Supports adherence to safety, security and Safeguarding policies and procedures in COs.

Employee Relations and Employee Services (30%)

• Monitors the whistleblowing line and ensures timely action is taken in all complaints received related to COs.
• Oversees and works with P&C and COs management on the prevention and effective resolution of employee relations issues and adherence to disciplinary procedures. Responsible for maintaining confidential records.
• Conducts investigations and liaises with legal firms and/or investigators to resolve ER cases.
• Identifies trends and areas of concerns based on data channels i.e. surveys and exit interviews and proposes and implements remedial actions.
• Acts as one of the systems administrators of the whistleblowing and the anti-terrorism platforms

Quality Assurance (20%)

• Drives efficiency and quality assurance of P&C operational practices in COs by conducting assessments and P&C audits and works with P&C Specialists and Country Directors (CDs) to enhance the employee experience, ensure consistency, continuous improvement and enhance People’s capacity in country.
• Supports CDs to ensure compliance and manage P&C risks as per country risk register and audits’ actions.
• Contributes to the data gathering, analysis and presentation of P&C reports, to enable decision making Identifies trends, proposes actions for improvement and instigates implementation.

Diversity, Equity Inclusion and Accessibility (10%)

• Embeds DEIA approaches in policies and processes, to create a framework that welcomes and supports staff regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, language, ability, status, and location.

The role has a primary focus on supporting and advising leaderships and coaching P&C specialists and managers on P&C operational needs of Country Offices. It also has a global scope in supporting the advancement of the DEIA agenda with the view of achieving the culture of One Right To Play . Consults the CPCO on complex, unclear or long term impact matters.

4- Leadership and Staff management

Provides technical leadership and coaching to the P&C Specialists in COs (10 plus colleagues), also acts as counsel of CDs and senior staff based in COs on P&C policies and strategic shifts impacting staff. Lead the P&C Global Community of Practice and the Global DEIA Committee (GDEIAC).

5-  Information requirement for decision-making

Identifies areas for improvement and implements P&C solutions in COs to ensure a smooth service is provided. Under the guidance of senior P&C staff, updates and embeds policies, processes and other key P&C initiatives. 

Uses the policy framework, organisational and country strategies to guide priorities. Their action is informed by trends and issues identified as a result of the analysis of People’s data reports, surveys and other sources available to mainstream processes and achieve efficiency in the operation.  Policy changes are to be approved by the CPCO.

6- Innovation and Improvements

The incumbent is expected to proactively recommend improvements to policies, procedures and practices based on international P&C best practices.  Working with P&C specialised colleagues introduces improvements across all areas of P&C including workforce planning, safeguarding and Safety and Security.

7- Relationships & Communications: Internal / External:

Internally works closely with the P&C global team, CDs, HQ Country Operations and Finance on the delivery of P&C annual processes and initiatives that drive improvement and effectiveness. Also, works closely with the GDEIAC to deliver the DEIA activities. Externally the role liaises with legal firms, investigators and networks.

8- Expertise (Certifications / Education, Professional Experience)

• Master’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, Org Behaviour or related field
• Extensive experience of working at HQ or regional level on an international development organization with representation in low and medium income countries
• Experience in management of HR international operations with thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable local laws, donor requirements in a number of countries with the intention of providing similar employee experience across the board
• Experience in delivering HR services through a business partner model
• Experience advising and training P&C professionals, staff and leadership on employee relations issues and best people management practices
• Proficient in verbal and written English and fluent in French, Arabic or Portuguese is preferred

Hiring salary is dependent on the successful candidate’s location. This is a national position and salary will be paid in the local currency. Please note that this salary will be subject to the usual deductions, including required taxes.

• Canada: CAD 90,418 per annum
• Ethiopia: ETB 258,574 per month
• Ghana: GHS 15,156 per month
• Lebanon: USD 3,873 per month
• Mali: XOF 1,244,044 per month
• Pakistan: PKR 448,947 per month
• Palestinian Territories: ILS 17,116 per month
• Rwanda: RWF 2,581,173 per month
• Tanzania: TZS 7,276,275 per month
• Uganda: UGX 9,750,052 per month
• United Kingdom: GBP 54,374 per annum

We’re entering an exciting phase of growth across the country and are looking for a Group Finance Director to join our Executive Leadership Team to contribute to the collective leadership of the TLC Group.

The Role

This role will lead the financial strategy and financial management of the TLC Group.

You will:

· Lead financial strategy to ensure sustainability and growth.

· Advise the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board on financial matters.

· Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, and financial planning.

· Ensure strong governance, controls, and regulatory compliance.

· Provide clear, high-quality financial reporting and Board assurance.

· Lead audit, statutory reporting, and external auditor relationships.

· Oversee financial systems and processes to support growth.

· Lead financial due diligence for partnerships, mergers, and opportunities.

· Lead and develop the finance team, promoting accountability, and transparency.

About You

We’re looking for a values-led, people-focused leader with sound judgement and strong operational experience.

You’ll bring:

· Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

· Significant senior finance leadership experience.

· Strong expertise in financial strategy, planning, and governance.

· Experience of Board reporting and working with senior stakeholders.

· Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.

· Experience in financial modelling and supporting growth.

· Proven ability to lead and develop high performing teams.

· Strong analytical skills, including advanced excel capability.

· Able to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance audiences.

· Collaborative, values-led, and motivated by social impact.

The Offer

· Salary: £61,429 - £71,069

· 37 hours per week

· Hybrid working, with time spent at TLC Group offices (various locations across England).
