Wintercomfort works with people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or with a history of homelessness. Our specialist Housing Team provides expert advice and support to help people successfully navigate the search for housing and crucially, support them to sustain life away from the street.
About you and the Role
This is a full-time community outreach and homelessness prevention role, working as part of the Wintercomfort tenancy sustainment and homelessness prevention project worker team. The Wintercomfort Housing Project Worker will provide practical, person-centred, housing-related support for people identified through community outreach and within Overstream House who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The postholder will deliver frontline casework, advocacy and practical support to help vulnerable individuals secure, maintain and transition into safe, independent living. This will include supporting people to understand the options available to them, complete practical tasks, access appropriate services, strengthen housing stability and work with local partners to prevent housing crises from escalating.

We are excited to be recruiting a Scheme Manager for our brand-new specialist service in Hove. This unique development provides high-quality, long-term affordable housing for people living with acquired brain injuries and/or physical disabilities, supporting residents to live independently in a safe, accessible and welcoming community.
The scheme comprises 28 beautifully designed, fully accessible purpose-built apartments, each with its own private entrance and outdoor space or balcony. Residents will also benefit from our inviting communal areas, including a ground-floor community lounge, an additional shared space on the upper floor, and a stunning rooftop garden offering panoramic views across Hove. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping a vibrant new service and making a lasting difference to people’s lives.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will manage and support a staff team to provide safe, responsive and empowering services that promote independence, choice and wellbeing. You will lead from the front, model good practice and maintain high standards through supervision and quality monitoring.
You will work closely with housing providers, families, professionals and community groups organising social events and activities and create a positive, vibrant living environment where people feel safe, connected and proud of where they live.
The successful candidate will have proven leadership skills, experience of managing services for people with complex needs, strong organisational skills and confidence using relevant IT systems. You will understand key social care legislation, including safeguarding and mental capacity, and be able to evidence quality and compliance in line with regulatory requirements.
An NVQ4/QCF5 in Leadership and Management, Registered Managers Award, or willingness to work towards the required qualification is essential.

We are seeking proactive and passionate individuals to join our Fostering Panel. We welcome applicants with a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic care, and a commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people in care.

The successful applicants must be IT literate, as documentation is shared at online meetings on a monthly basis. The Panel meets via Microsoft Teams on the second Tuesday of each month, but additional meetings may be scheduled as needed. The successful candidate may need to travel to attend an annual panel business day in person and other occasional meetings and training.
