Steamship Shieldhall is seeking to appoint an experienced freelance Commercial Manager to build new income streams to support the ongoing operation, conservation and sustainability of one of the country's most significant historic ships.

Shieldhall is berthed year-round in Southampton and welcomes passengers and visitors on board from 110 Berth in the Western Docks. She is capable of carrying up to 220 passengers and from spring to autumn each year operates a programme of public sailings ranging from two hour trips to full day cruises. She is also open for alongside events, and is available for private charters. In addition, she can be hired for use alongside such as for training activities, meetings, functions and filming.

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for identifying and realising new opportunities for revenue generation for Steamship Shieldhall, as well as supporting Shieldhall’s experienced volunteers with maximising income from existing activities.

This commission is an important element of the “Steamship Shieldhall: towards 2055, the next 10 years” project which is supported by a Development Phase grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.  The appointment is intended to cover both the Development Phase and the first two years of the Delivery Phase of our  project but will include a break-clause between the two phases. The Delivery Phase contract is contingent on a successful Delivery Phase grant application to the Heritage Fund

The successful candidate will have the right to set their own hours of work and will determine in agreement with the Shieldhall charity how best to undertake the work. This commision could be provided through self-employed individual, partnership or limited company.

Trusts and Foundations Manager

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic and relationship-driven Trusts and Foundations Manager to lead on growing and stewarding First Give’s portfolio of high-value funders. This role will focus on securing income from Trusts and Foundations from first engagement to account management, delivery and reporting. 

First Give is a small charity, with a growing fundraising team and big ambitions. You will therefore be someone who thrives in a start-up environment, willing to try new things. We are looking for an exceptional writer, someone who can translate the impact of our work into proposals that inspire and motivate the reader to give.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping First Give’s income growth, working closely with our Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships and the Director to manage relationships with existing donors, and leading on the development of high value bids to expand our work. This role will also support key engagement activities, including hosting donors at student-led Final events and facilitating employee volunteering at schools.

The candidate:

In terms of subject matter expertise, candidates will have in-depth knowledge and experience within the Disadvantaged Children & Young People, and/or Health & Wellbeing sectors.

The Senior Seafood Program Manager works closely with our funder and implementation partner,

Humanity United, acting as a strategic thought partner to advance our shared goals. The role will hold overall responsibility for management of the portf

olio including program and strategy development, budgeting, monitoring and reporting and grant-making.

The role holder will represent the Freedom Fund at high level sectoral events; engaging with a wide range of stakeholders related to the program, building connections that advance our shared priorities.

This role is a fixed term contract, aligned to our next phase of funding partnership with Humanity United for the Asia Pacific seafood program.  The position is expected to commence in September 2026 and continue through to December 2028, with the possibility of an extension.

The role

This role is within the Programmes and Partnerships team, which secures and manages funding from institutional funders. As a Programme Manager, you will lead day-to-day delivery and management of FIGO projects across the full project cycle. This will include the Advocating for Safe Abortion (ASA) programme, a multi-country initiative now in its seventh year, working with national professional societies of obstetricians and gynecologists across Francophone West Africa to drive change in policy, clinical practice and societal attitudes on abortion care. This is complex, multi-partner work in a politically sensitive area. It requires judgement, strong relationships, and the ability to hold both the detail and the bigger picture. We’re looking for someone with:

• Proven experience of managing institutionally funded projects in global health or international development, across the full project lifecycle.
• Experience managing advocacy-focused projects and working with a diverse range of partners across multiple countries.
• Strong skills in financial management, donor reporting and partner coordination.
• Experience developing and implementing monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks on projects.
• Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken) — essential for this role.
• Familiarity with sexual and reproductive health and rights, or experience working in West Africa, is a strong advantage.
• Travel to West Africa will be essential.

Part-funded by a generous donation from Backstage Trust, this is a new and pivotal role designed to transform Theatre Centre's fundraising capacity by strengthening systems, increasing income diversity, and building long-term financial resilience. The postholder will play a key role in helping the organisation capitalise on its artistic impact and case for support, while building momentum towards its 75th anniversary in 2028.

This role will keep us focused on our development strategy and will have support from across the whole company: the Board, Executive and the core TC team. We have been steadily building our foundations and have some good funding relationships in place, committed individual givers, a strong, evidenced case for support, some incredible stats and feedback and above all an inspiring and exciting programme of work to offer for young people, artists and teachers across the country.

Our Development Manager will help us to bring in resources so that we can continue share our high-quality, specialist work as far as we can. We see development as a collaborative effort and we understand the need for the whole team to support development, that effective fundraising needs to be resourced with realistic timelines and expectations.

The Development Manager will lead delivery of a phased fundraising strategy:

Phase 1 - Foundation: Build on our strong systems and processes and give us consistency in fundraising delivery, including building a robust pipeline of Trusts & Foundations and developing place-based income in Crawley and the Gatwick area.

Phase 2 - Private Phase: Expand individual giving by deepening relationships, developing major donors, and securing multi-year funding partnerships.

The Mountain Heritage Trust (MHT) is the national charity dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of mountaineering, climbing and exploration in the UK and beyond. Our collections, archives and stories document over two centuries of adventure, innovation and human endeavour in the mountains.

Role Purpose 

The key responsibilities will include Project coordination, coordinating financial information, monitoring campaign activities, assisting with donor reporting and proposal writing, engaging with and coordinating EIA team members in planning, delivery and performance tracking, liaising with external stakeholders including donors and advocacy partners, supporting with the production of campaign and communication materials and providing support for organising workshops and events. 

Key areas of responsibility 

Finance

• Assist with budgets for all project-related activities, complete reconciliations and accurately reporting expenditure during trips

• Support day-to-day financial processes, including preparing reports, processing invoices and responding to internal queries.

 Your Role in Growing Our Forest Story

As the New National Forests Project Manager, you’ll lead on effective project management of centralised activities for the three new national forests.

Specifically, you’ll manage the centralised reporting of progress, targets and budgets, liaising closely with the programme managers for each new national forest.

You’ll also provide technical support and advice on land use issues, including forest creation grants delivery, habitat management and land use planning, writing briefings and policy papers.

Additionally, you will:
- Liaise with external partners including government departments, statutory agencies, NGOs and wider partners
- Procure and contract manage consultancy works
- Support communications, advocacy and funding work for new national forests

What You’ll Bring

To be considered as a Project Manager, you will need:
- A relevant degree-level / professional qualification, or at least five years’ work-based experience in a similar role

Main purpose of the job

This role will provide additional capacity to help secure new restricted grants, and manage existing reports to ensure maximum possible alignment of grants to Bond’s overall strategy and financial objectives.The role will support the Fundraising Director to identify potential funders and scope opportunities, support with project management of funding proposals, coordination of reports and due diligence requirements.

The role will report to a member of the Senior Management Team but will work closely with Bond’s Director of Fundraising (consultant or employee) and with SMT leads as specific to funder. 

Main responsibilities

Managing the restricted funding pipeline 

• Working with the Director of Fundraising, maintain the restricted funding pipeline including co-ordinating the submission of reports
• Regular scanning for new funding opportunities, new bid identification, tracking deadlines and donor requirements, and identifying Bond’s eligibility for relevant grants. 
• Where required by the Director of Fundraising, produce briefings and background notes for funder outreach.

Supporting the successful development of funding proposals 

• Working with the Director of Fundraising and in coordination with relevant teams, draft funding proposals and ensure that relevant templates and due diligence are completed in line with agreed deadlines and quality standards. 
• Work with the Director of Finance & Planning to prepare budgets for each proposal in accordance with donor guidelines and Bond’s internal budget framework. 
• Working with the Director of Fundraising, support the internal coordination of funding proposal development, including setting up relevant internal calls, supporting communication and liaison with funders, tracking progress, and ensuring that tasks are completed in line with internal and funder deadlines.

Ensure that restricted fundraising supports Bond’s overall and financial strategy 

• Working with the Director of Finance and Planning and relevant SMT leads, ensure that budgets for restricted grant proposals align to funder requirements and templates, while also supporting Bond’s strategy and our financial objectives.
• Maximise cost recovery and track resourcing implications of the funding portfolio.
