We are now seeking an exceptional Director of Operations & Fundraising to play a key role to take the Trust to its next phase. The successful candidate will work closely with Barrie, to build on the Trust’s considerable success whilst creating new opportunities to increase its reach and impact.

A unique events model

The Trust’s events depend on bringing together three important groups of people:

Companies and high net worth individuals who are willing to donate hospitality boxes and other valuable experiences.

Hospitals, hospices and other charities who identify and nominate seriously ill and disabled children and their families who would benefit from the Trust’s support.

Volunteer hosts who generously give their time to attend events, ensuring that each family receives a warm, personal and memorable experience.

In-house event management team with responsibility for organising the events.

The Director will be responsible for overseeing these relationships and ensuring that the whole process works seamlessly, whilst also building a successful fundraising function.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & partnerships

· Create and implement a fundraising strategy capable of establishing sustainable income for the Trust.

· Identify, approach and develop relationships with potential corporate supporters and high net worth individuals.

· Secure financial donations as well as donations of hospitality boxes, experiences and other support.

· Build long-term relationships with donors and supporters and ensure they feel valued and engaged with the Trust’s work.

· Ensure all fundraising activities comply with relevant legislation and the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice.

Event management & communications

· Lead the planning and delivery of the Trust’s programme of events, ensuring every event is professionally organised and delivers an exceptional experience for the children and their families.

· Oversee the development of strong relationships with hospitals, hospices and other appropriate organisations to encourage nominations of children and families.

· Oversee the recruitment and coordination of a strong network of reliable and enthusiastic hosts who give their time to attend events.

· Oversee the development of communications that engage different audiences including box and financial donors, beneficiaries, hospitals and hosts.

· Ensure the Trust’s information systems, website and social media are relevant and kept up to date.

Leadership & Operations

· Work closely with Barrie Wells to turn the Trust’s vision and objectives into practical action.

· Line manage key members of the team and develop staff, creating a culture of creativity, accountability and continuous improvement.

· Manage budgets, expenditure and resources effectively.

· Ensure the Trust operates to appropriate standards of governance and best practice.

Still in its original Fleet Street location, our historic building retains much of its 1890s character, reflecting over a hundred years of history while providing 21st century facilities. With six floors, St Bride Foundation is a unique and memorable setting for a range of events - lectures, workshops, board meetings, conferences, weddings and other celebrations.

The Operations Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of St Bride Foundation, helping to ensure our historic building is safe, compliant, well maintained and welcoming.

Operational Administration

Our Healthy Lifestyles Service delivers a range of activities including seated and standing exercise programmes, health checks, social engagement opportunities, health hubs and Memory Tree Cafés for people living with dementia and their carers. Services are delivered across community venues and care homes throughout Croydon.

About the Role

As a Exercise and Wellbeing Officer, you will play a pivotal role in improving the health, wellbeing and independence of older people across the community. Working with the Healthy Lifestyles Service Manager, you will help shape and deliver a range of meaningful activities while providing day-to-day support and guidance to staff and volunteers.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

· Prepare and deliver seated and standing physical activity sessions in care homes and community venues across Croydon.

· Carrying out basic health checks, including blood pressure and other wellbeing measurements.

· Supporting the delivery of Health Hubs, wellbeing events and health promotion activities.

· Building positive relationships with care homes, community venues, partner organisations and guest speakers.

About You

We are looking for someone who is energetic, approachable and committed to supporting older people to live healthier,

more connected lives.

You will have:

· Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification, Exercise Referral qualification, Otago Exercise Programme, REACT qualification, or another relevant physical activity, fitness, falls prevention or rehabilitation qualification.

· Good understanding of the issues affecting the health and well-being of older people including exercise, healthy eating, nutrition and malnutrition

· Good understanding of the needs of older people including dementia

· Excellent working knowledge of administration processes and systems

· Good knowledge of IT systems including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

· Experience of compiling monitoring reports, reporting on quality, performance KPIs, project outcomes and impact

Summary of the role:

The Executive Officer to the CEO plays a central role within the CEO Office, supporting the Chief Executive Officer in delivering effective leadership and ensuring alignment across the organisation.

The postholder is responsible for providing high-level executive support to the CEO while acting as a key coordination point across the organisation. The role ensures the effective management of priorities, information flow, and follow-up on leadership actions, enabling the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to operate efficiently and effectively.

In addition, the role leads internal communications and staff engagement, ensuring that organisational priorities, decisions, and key messages are clearly communicated and understood across teams.

This is a proactive and fast-paced role requiring strong organisational, communication, and coordination skills, with a focus on supporting leadership effectiveness, organisational alignment, and operational efficiency.

About the Role:

1. Provide comprehensive executive support to the CEO, ensuring effective management of time, priorities, and workload.
2. Manage the CEO’s diary, meetings, travel arrangements, and logistics.

This role operates on a hybrid working basis, with a requirement to work from the office for two/three days per week, and additional days where required to meet organisational needs.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in an Executive Officer or similar role supporting senior leadership.
3. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful internal communications and staff engagement strategies.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and create compelling communications materials tailored to specific audiences and channels.
5. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks and projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

This peer support project is delivered in partnership with South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust to support Carers of people with mental health conditions.  This project will work to support Carers through one-to-one support, outreach, training and peer support groups.

Using your lived experience of caring for someone with a mental health condition, and a strengths-based approach, you will support mental health Carers in their caring role.  You will provide person centred one-to-one- support, information, signposting, and advocacy, develop, and facilitate peer support groups and deliver training and outreach sessions at different locations across the borough.
