We use the knowledge and insight gained from our support services and partnerships to highlight the issues experienced by older people in poverty and campaign for change.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:
This is a critical and influential role at Independent Age, reporting to the Head of Governance. The post holder will provide high-quality support across a broad and impactful portfolio, including risk management, procurement and contracts, governance, safeguarding and business continuity, helping to build a culture where accountability, learning and continuous improvement drive meaningful change.
Working closely with senior leaders and the Board, you will play an important role in enabling effective and confident decision-making across every level of the charity. This is an opportunity to contribute across a wide range of areas and to see the direct impact of your work on how the organisation functions and delivers its mission.
We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for risk management, alongside a strong understanding of not-for-profit governance best practice. You will also bring experience in at least one of the following areas: procurement, contracts management, third party contract risk, business continuity planning, policy management or safeguarding.
You will be an excellent communicator, confident working with senior stakeholders, with strong attention to detail and a proactive, can-do approach. Above all, you will take pride in getting things done efficiently and to a high standard and be motivated by the opportunity to work for a values-led organisation making a meaningful difference to older people.
This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, which you can choose to work over five days or a 9-day fortnight.

The Data and Insights Manager will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality and impact across our mentoring programmes. Responsible for
- Championing and quality assuring our theory of change, ensuring that programmes are designed with impact at the centre and within the frameworks that will give us the most robust data sets
- Quantitative data analysis for individual programmes and our portfolio of mentoring programmes as a whole, clearly presenting our impact against our outcomes

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting New Business Development
- Assist in researching and identifying prospective regional, national and international corporate partners aligned with the organisation’s mission and values
- Support the development of tailored proposals, pitches and presentations for potential corporate supporters

Role description

The Events Officer plays a vital role in delivering our flagship fundraising event, Sleep Out. About you
You will be an energetic and personable individual with:
- Proven experience of working in a supporter or customer-facing role.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, confident in communicating with varied audiences.
- Excellent copy-writing skills for supporter communications and an interest in marketing.
- Strong organisation and multi-tasking skills, in order to ensure Sleep Out events run smoothly.
- Proactive and ambitious, always looking for creative ways of working.
What you’ll be doing
- Support the successful delivery and growth of our public Sleep Out events in London and Manchester and our ‘Host Your Own Sleep Out’ product.
- Engage and steward all Sleep Out event participants, supporting them with their fundraising, answering queries and building strong relationships.
- Support the implementation of marketing plans that recruit participants.
- Support the Event Manager in managing the partnership with NBS to maximise the impact of the partnership and strive for long-term growth.
- Responsible for administrative processes for the Sleep Out team including donor and financial records, monitoring and creating resources and materials.

As Corporate Partnerships Officer, you will support the Head of Corporate Partnerships, Community and Events to secure high value, long-term partnerships across a range of sectors. The Right to Community Infrastructure is a one-year participatory research project delivered through a partnership between Thames Life Community Development Trust and The Open University.
Across the UK, localities are experiencing a decline in social and community infrastructure, including community centres, meeting spaces, social hubs and other shared assets that support participation, wellbeing and community resilience.
The project aims to develop a new framework for understanding and assessing access to community infrastructure within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
A Community Research Network of residents has already been recruited and trained to work alongside Thames Life and The Open University. Community researchers will contribute to research design, fieldwork, analysis and dissemination activities.
