We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Philanthropy and Partnerships Directorate as a Philanthropy Manager. In this role you will manage a portfolio of existing major donors and lead on building relationships with new potential supporters to secure 5 and 6 figure donations.

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money to save the lives of people with cancer, everywhere. We ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world. 

From funding state-of-the-art equipment and ground-breaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. 

We are a very ambitious organisation which has gone through transformational growth over the past five years. Alongside funding an existing programme of world-leading research, treatment and care, the Charity completed its largest capital appeal to date, successfully raising £70 million to build the Oak Cancer Centre at the hospital’s Sutton site, which opened in summer 2023. 

With one in two of us expected to develop some form of cancer, it is essential that we go even further in our fundraising efforts to support the essential work of The Royal Marsden. Therefore, we are delivering our most ambitious strategy yet, that will see us raising at least £215m over the 5-year period.

The Charity is committed its biggest fundraising appeal to date, for a new major development project in Chelsea. There is also an extensive portfolio of engaging projects outside of the capital appeals that help to support all aspects of the hospital’s work to improve the lives of cancer patients.

We work with the Charity’s most generous supporters, who make a significant difference to the work of The Royal Marsden. Philanthropy plays a vital role in the success of funding the hospital’s most urgent priorities and projects.

Job purpose

As Philanthropy Manager you will manage a portfolio of existing major donors and lead on building relationships with new potential supporters to secure 5 and 6 figure donations. You will support the Head of Philanthropy and other members of the RMCC leadership team, to explore their networks, facilitate introductions and secure gifts.

You will be a proactive individual with a proven ability and passion for relationship management and donor acquisition driving the delivery of our donor-centric strategy for philanthropy.

The high value and campaign department at Breast Cancer Now are an ambitious team of relationship fundraisers that are committed to delivering significant growth over the next five years. relationship fundraising – and experience of success in grant fundraising in the small to mid-value area. A skilled multi-tasker, you’ll be adept in managing a high volume of prospects, applying gold-standard relationship principles consistently across your pipeline.  

You’ll be responsible for our small to mid-value portfolios and for growing the cumulative value of these. You’ll build a wide knowledge base and strong understanding of our important work to effectively engage with new, potential and existing supporters. With experience in taking a proactive approach, you’ll be equipped to regularly manage multiple tasks including new supporter approaches; thanking and stewardship journeys; and gift administration tasks.

As Fundraising Lead- South, you will lead Philanthropy and Corporate fundraising across your region, developing relationships with high‑net‑worth individuals, senior business leaders and corporate partners. 

You will manage Centre Fundraising Managers, and support them on planning and prioritisation, work with Fundraising Boards as appropriate, and share best practice across Maggie’s. You will also help develop new fundraising opportunities.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced fundraising professional to join us as Head of Fundraising. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our fundraising strategy across community, events and volunteering, trusts and grants, corporate and philanthropy by crafting ambitious regional plans, nurturing high-performing teams, and driving excellence in supporter engagement and recognition. The Head of Fundraising will work collaboratively with the Individual Giving and Engagement team to drive new business pipelining and amplify fundraising campaigns, develop new fundraising products, and represent SCAA at external events and sector initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced team leader with significant experience working across a variety of fundraising disciplines and of developing and implementing fundraising strategies.

The successful candidate can be based from home, but this role will require regular travel to our bases at Perth and Aberdeen Airports and throughout Scotland. The usual hours and days of work will be Monday to Friday, 9am—5pm.

• Strong background in a variety of fundraising disciplines and a track record in growing fundraising income over multiple years within a charity, non-profit or values-led organisation.

The Senior Fundraising Executive (Grants) leads on bid-writing and relationship building with grantmakers (Trusts/Foundations/Public). The candidate will be a key player in the Grants team alongside the Director of Development (Grants/Major Gifts) and Development Officer. For millions of children and young people growing up in disadvantaged communities across the UK, a lack of literacy skills shuts doors before they've had the chance to open them. The National Literacy Trust exists to change that and your fundraising will be at the heart of making it happen.

We're looking for a Fundraising Manager, Trusts & Statutory to join our Development team and grow our income from charitable trusts and foundations. You'll manage a portfolio of high-value funders, craft compelling proposals, and forge the kind of long-term relationships that sustain our work in 22 of the UK's most under-resourced communities.

What you'll be doing

• Building and managing a pipeline of five and six-figure trust and foundation grants
• Writing persuasive, evidence-rich funding applications and stewardship reports
• Developing deep, lasting relationships with funders at all levels, from programme officers to trustees
• Working in close collaboration with programme leads and the senior management team to align bids with our strategy
• Supporting and supervising a Trusts and Statutory Executive as a dotted-line report
• Contributing to income forecasting and budgeting for trustees
• Representing the charity at sector events and with external stakeholders

What we're looking for

• Significant experience securing and stewarding five and six-figure grants from charitable trusts and foundations
• Excellent written skills; you write proposals that inspire, not just inform
• Strong relationship management across a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Experience managing a funding pipeline with a CRM, and confident working to income targets

More than 7 million adults in the UK struggle to read or write at the level needed to navigate daily life. The National Literacy Trust is on the frontline of addressing that, and its trusts and statutory income is what makes everything possible.

We're looking for a Senior Fundraising Manager to lead a team of three, drive our grant-funding strategy, and manage a portfolio of high-value relationships, including with Arts Council England, during a 14-month maternity cover period. What you'll be leading

• Implementing the trusts and statutory strategy in partnership with the Head of Trusts and Statutory Fundraising

• Line managing two Fundraising Managers and providing accountability for a Trusts and Statutory Executive

About you
You'll be an experienced senior fundraiser who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You know what it takes to build and sustain six and seven-figure funder relationships, and you're equally comfortable leading a team and writing a compelling proposal. You're motivated by mission and by helping others reach their potential.

• Proven experience as a senior manager in a national charity

This is a key role to help drive RFUK’s income generation and donor engagement strategies. As Senior Fundraising Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the creation and delivery of RFUK’s fundraising strategy to sustain and broaden the organisation’s scale and impact. Reporting to the Head of External Relations and part of the Fundraising and Communications team, you will lead a range of activities and are responsible for developing and cultivating partnerships with institutional donors, trusts and foundations, ethical corporates, and individual supporters.

About you

You are an organised, self-starter and experienced fundraising professional with a proven track record managing a diverse fundraising pipeline from identification and cultivation through to securing gifts and successful stewardship. You have confidence engaging with foundations, corporates, individuals and major donors, and are excited to build long-term relationships with diverse stakeholders. You are eager and ready to implement new digital tools and a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to streamline processes and maximise long-term donor engagement and support. You have excellent communication skills, can juggle multiple tasks, thrive in a collaborative environment, and bring resilience and cultural sensitivity to everything you do.
