About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a People Advisor to join our fast-paced, supportive HR team at the Crick.
In this varied and hands-on role, you’ll be involved in a wide range of people activities, including employee relations casework, annual performance and pay reviews, delivery of management training, policy and process development, and people-focused projects that make a real impact across the Crick community.
You’ll support a diverse client group spanning research labs and operational teams, giving you broad exposure and the chance to build strong working relationships across the organisation. Reporting to a People Partner and working closely with fellow People Advisors, you’ll help deliver a proactive, customer-focused HR service, providing relevant and appropriate HR support, while promoting best practice and ensuring compliance with the Crick’s policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
This is a highly visible role, requiring confidence, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem solving and relationship building in a busy and dynamic environment.

What you will be doing
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide general first-line HR support and advice covering all employee lifecycle activity to both employees and managers, working in partnership with People Partners, Senior People Advisors and People Coordinators where relevant
- Trusted advisor to managers and supporting with all people issues enabling them to find and implement the best approach to deal with an issue at hand e.g., performance, conduct, attendance.
- Provide advice on employee relations matters to ensure that all casework is managed in a fair and transparent manner. This will include absence management, capability, disciplinaries, grievances, flexible working and supporting on restructures and redundancies
- Provide primary support and advice to hiring managers on recruitment activity, including salary benchmarking, interviewing and support with writing job descriptions
- Manage all queries on maternity leave and other family-friendly policies, including meeting with individuals and providing support and advice before, during and after periods of leave
About you
You will have:
- Proven experience of providing HR advice to managers and employees
- Strong understanding and knowledge of the HR support required when running employee relations cases, in particular absence management, performance management and disciplinary *
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR policies and best practices
- Experience of providing advice and an end-to-end service on maternity leave and other family-friendly leave *
- Ability to work under pressure while balancing timely work output with high levels of accuracy, demonstrating excellent attention to detail *
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to proactively build effective working relationships with a diverse employee population*

Macmillan Cancer Supporter are seeking a Head of Philanthropy to lead a transformational change in building deeper, strategic relationships with high-net-worth individuals, trusts and foundations, and in the way Macmillan delivers impact through philanthropy.
Macmillan has spent more than 100 years helping people living with cancer. From the moment someone is diagnosed with cancer, they are there with all the information, support and guidance needed, to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can.
The Head of Philanthropy will lead a fundraising team to deliver a current annual target of £5m, whilst also developing an ambitious strategy to sustainably grow income; the charity’s goal is to build a £20m annual philanthropy programme by 2030. The Legal Office is the in-house provider of legal services to the national policy-making and governance institutions of the Church of England (the National Church Institutions, "NCIs"), which are some of the largest charities in the UK (including statutory corporations and a Royal Charter corporation), the largest of which are the Archbishops' Council, a national policy and strategic decision-making body, the Church Commissioners, a substantial endowment fund with assets valued at £11.1bn (2024) which has positioned itself at the forefront of Responsible Investment and which supports the mission of the Church, and the Church of England Pensions Board which stewards a £3.4bn fund. The Legal Office also advises the General Synod, which is a legislative assembly which makes primary and secondary legislation subject to the approval of Parliament.

About the role

Key Purpose / WHY?
The Carers Wellbeing Worker will support unpaid carers across Bridgend to establish ‘What Matters’ to them and provide bespoke, person-centred information, advice and guidance to those accessing our services, including, one 2 one support, group work and activities, as well as signposting and referring to relevant agencies for additional support including working with the unpaid carer to complete a proportionate carers assessment to help them on their caring journey.
Working with the senior Carers Wellbeing worker to develop and deliver of a targeted outreach support programme, building on existing partnership working and connecting carers to community resources, preventing the need for escalation to statutory services.
Key Responsibilities / WHAT?

To be the key contact for all enquiries around the Bridged Carers Wellbeing Service, including monitoring referrals, Bridgend Carers Wellbeing inbox, telephone or online enquiries and referrals through WCCIS.

To identify, engage with and support individuals who may be in an informal unpaid caring role including carers from seldom heard groups.

To work with unpaid carers and assist them to articulate ‘what matters to them’, their desired outcomes and signpost / refer individuals to relevant support service to enable them to achieve those outcomes within their own communities.

Undertaking proportionate carers assessments and reviews – identifying areas of need or change and producing support plans, to achieve outcomes that support the carer to become self-reliant and build a network of support.

To deliver a regular programme of outreach and engagement events, taking Bridgend Carers Wellbeing services into the community and working in partnership with carers support services. Feeding back suggestions and ideas to the Senior Carers Wellbeing worker to support development of targeted outreach across Bridgend.

About the role
As a member of the Legal Office Advisory Team, you will be providing legal services to the National Institutions of the Church of England, focused on giving legal advice across a diverse and interesting range of subjects which bear on the operations of the Church Commissioners and other parts of the national Church of England.
